Yelena

Relieved, I lower my gun with a grin. Thank god. "Really? This is how you get my attention?"

"Sorry, Looks like I beat you to the job." Anastasia Borisyuk says, lowering her gun.

Her long, brown hair drapes over her shoulders, and her round, chocolate-brown eyes are full of happiness, as usual.

"Ash ty suka."

(Ah, you bitch.)

I embrace my little sister in a rough hug, rubbing her head. "Oi! Knock it off!" She says, pushing me away. "Did you enjoy your time in Russia?"

"No. The people there were crazy. I almost died on the way back here." She says, motioning to a scar on her arm. "Don't worry, you look badass."

"Alright. I'm glad you two reunited, but can we find the hostages, please?" Viktor says, looking around nervously. He needs to stop worrying all the time.

"What are you talking about? There were no hostages." Anastasia frowns at me. "This is the right location. Are you sure?"

"I swept this whole place. A lot of cryptic stuff and devil worship, but no signs of prisoners." What? I look at her, confused. "Then where-"

Bam!

The ground rumbles as something explodes outside. I snap my head towards the door as we all draw our pistols out. What the hell?

I and Ana rush to the far side of the room while Viktor closes the door. "That doesn't sound like a gang to me," Anastasia whispers as she crouches next to me.

Whoever it is, they won't be walking out unharmed. Just then, we hear yelling. "FBI, Coming through!"

Shit.

The footsteps get louder and louder as the team makes their way to the room we're in. Anastasia looks around frantically, panicked as I try to think of a plan. "What are we going to do!?"

I shoot the nearest window and shatter the glass. It was way too loud, but it worked. The footsteps get faster and louder in reaction to the broken window.

I hear multiple gunshots outside of the room. Shit, my team. "Boost me!" She yells. I kneel below the window and position my hands so I can hoist her up.

Anastasia runs towards me and leaps onto my hands. I push her up with a grunt just as someone bangs on the door.

I rush to Viktor's side as Anastasia climbs to safety. Together we try our best to keep the door closed as the FBI team tries to break in.

"Viktor! Go now!" I yell, the door shaking. "I can't leave you-"

"Go!" Gosh, just follow directions for once in your life! He looks at me for a few seconds and then runs towards the window.

Thank god Viktor can climb, 'cause I was not hoisting that man up. I watch Viktor climb out, taking deep breaths. As soon as he's out of my sight, I sprint towards the window.

As soon as I let the door go, an FBI agent kicks it down.

OW! I feel a sharp pain in my calf. One of those sleeping darts.

Now limping, I sloppily roll out of the window. A shard of glass cut me in my side, but I don't have any time to tend to my wounds.

I fall on my knees outside, onto one of those metal stair things. As I try to stand up, the world spins around me. Damn, I need a... a medical team or some shit.

Things start to spin faster and faster as I climb down the stairs. Is it just me or is the air getting thinner?

I fall off the stairs and onto the ground, where a sea of police cars are parked. Out of all places, I'm falling asleep here?

Pull yourself together, Yelena! The police officers notice me and point five different guns at my chest.

"HANDS UP!" How... h-how is he yelling so quietly? I fall to my knees, breathing heavily. Is...is it hot i-in here?

I hold onto consciousness and two officers roughly pull me to my feet and stuff me in the back of a car.

I feel myself start to doze off as the car pulls out of the parking lot. I should be worried, but I'm not. As long as Viktor and Ana are safe...

What the--

I'm startled awake by the same officers pulling me out of the car. "Where the hell am I?" I groan, my words slightly slurred.

Instead of answering me, they continue walking and we make our way to a building. My vision is still blurred, but I'm pretty sure we're at the police department.

Without a word, they take me to a room with a table and a metal detector. This is a weird room.

One of the officers leaves the room while the other walks up to the table, puts on a pair of gloves, and grabs a plastic bin before walking back over to me.

"Any weapons on you?" He asks me with a straight face. My senses are all back to normal now, but he doesn't need to know that.

I shrug, staring at the wall behind him. He lets out an annoyed grunt, before reluctantly searching me.

He hesitates to search my upper body for a split second. "Don't be shy," I grin, still staring at the back wall.

I like toying with officers. They're simple to please, like children.

Just before he has to touch my breasts, another officer walks into the room. "The Lieutenant wants her to sleep now, says he wants her to be fully rested."

Slightly relieved, the officer takes me by my arm and walks me to my cell. "No medical attention?"

"Budget cuts," He says with a shrug before locking the door.
