Chapter 18 - Out of the darkness

Alana woke up in her bed, her body was numb. Her clothes were cleaned, her body was washed, but she had a sense of loss. She just wanted to cry.

She forced her body up.

She sat on the bed. For the first time in a while she was feeling empty, everything was empty, her thoughts were empty.

She just sat there.

She didn't know how long it had been since she was sitting on her bed when Mrs. Clair entered her room.

She was surprised that the Lady was already up. She kept asking questions but the Lady didn't reacted, she left the food next to the Lady, but she didn't move at all.

'what am I doing here? Did I forget something? I am so tired.' Alana was lost she was not even aware of her sorroundings.

"How is the Lady?" Asked Rahul.

"She hasn't left her room or even eaten. I tried talking to her but she doesn't react. "

"Does... Does she knows ... Hmm about Edah..." Asked Malaica holding to Rahul's arm. Mrs. Clair shook her head. " I didn't have the opportunity, she seems to block anything around her."

Malaica looked upstairs she wanted to go up and embrace the lady as hard as she could.

" We will come back tomorrow" Rahul and Malaica said their goodbyes, and left again.

Next day Alana was still sitting in her bed, it was already morning she was wondering had she slept? She didn't know know anymore.

'maybe I should go down, it's time.' Even so her body refused to move, she stayed there sitting.

*Knock knock*

"My lady ..... " Alana looked up to Mrs. Clair but somehow the words she couldn't understand, she couldn't hear what it was being said.

"My Lady...." A tiny low voice came from behind of Mrs. Clair. A little head pop out from behind Mrs. Clair. It was a tiny shy little head. "...I am sorry!" A little soft sweet voice that pulled Alana out of transe. Alana's face slowly turned, she saw little Edah head popping out behind Mrs.Clair, in a like a slow motion she stretched her arm to reach Edah, and she pulled her as quickly as she could in case this illusion disappeared. She embraced her as if she didn't believe that Edah was really there and could disappear at any second.

"Edah..." Her husky low voice sighted Edah's name.

"Yes"

"Edah..." She said again

"Yes" the little one replyed and Alana repeated the little one name again and again, over and over and Edah replyed with a soft yes everytime.

Mrs. Clair couldn't hold back her tears as well as Malaica that could hear it from outside of the room.

Days had passed and Alana had finally recovered, sometimes while working in the wintergarden she would out of nowhere hug Edah as it to confirm that she was really there.

The town was much better they had food, they had hunt groups that would go hunt small creatures. Sometimes they would find travelers on the road on their way back to town, they would help and share with them, the travelers could see that the town was lovely. Somehow the word spread, and that didn't sit well with some people.

They were ready to bring the town livelyhood back down again.
