Chapter 20 - Exiting The Cold Palace

"Why can't I break through?!"

Li Yu who was seated in a meditative position under the tree in the small garden was currently looking very lost in the space.

Today makes it exactly two weeks since he had entered the cold palace.

Li Yu had been able to train the basic sword skill and basic footwork skills to perfection, but he couldn't further his cultivation training.

He's just stuck in the ninth level of the Qi Gathering realm.

"Could it be because of this body or something else?" Li Yu began to doubt what he had thought earlier.

Li Yu had thought that the reason for not being able to proceed in his training was because of the limitation caused by his physique, but after he had trained his body through training two skills repeatedly for days, he realized that he had been wrong all the time.

He felt so confused right now that he does not know what to do again.

Li Yu closed his eyes, and start cultivating again.

He followed exactly as it was written in the cultivation manual in his mind, trying to control his qi with his breathing technique, but the qi just wouldn't bulge at all.

Inside Li Yu's dantian, the bluish energy that had always been excited was extremely dim now and it was radiating sadness, the sort of sadness little children would show if they were not given what they want.

The energy was resisting the push caused by Li Yu's breathing technique.

Li Yu who does not know anything opened his eyes again in frustration when his qi wouldn't bulge.

"What I need to do now is to leave here ASAP, to go look for solutions concerning this qi that would not bulge."

"I have thought I would be able to proceed forward by leaps and bounds," Li Yu sighed in regret.

"Tap... Tap…. Tap…"

Li Yu suddenly looked up with a start, forgetting what was weighing him down instantly.

'Is- is that a person?!' He thought in shock.

For two weeks now that Li Yu had been home prisoned inside the cold palace by his father, today could be said the first time he noticed someone coming in.

Li Yu was not always aware of when his food was brought to him, as they were always placed In the huge lounge which was a little distance away from the little garden.

'Would I be released today?!' Li Yu's mind suddenly thought of this, and he became immediately excited.

He stood up happily and traced where the steps were sounding as he knew he needed to go meet the person since they would definitely not know where he was.

Li Yu rushed out of the little garden.

"Hun!!!! Little Liu, is that you?!" Lu Yu asked with shock visible all over his face when he saw the back he would always recognize at a glance, even in his sleep.

Little Liu who had become deeply concerned when she does not know where to begin her search with how huge the palace was, was immediately scared out of her wit when she heard someone called out behind her, as she was not expecting that at all.

"Young- young master, young- master!!"

Little Liu's face began to well with tears when she saw the person she had been missing for what felt like an eternity.

Because of Li Yu, she had lost all her appetite, apart from doing the task assigned to her by Li Yu, most of her time was spent missing Li Yu.

She had been coming to the cold place every day, but the guard wouldn't let her in, she had tried different approaches, from acting cut to acting funny to acting rude to acting angry, and so on, but the guard just would not allow her entry.

Remembering how hard she had missed Li Yu, Little Liu suddenly bolted like a little rabbit and jumped into Li Yu's arms.

"Bohoho, young master!! Why do you make Little Liu suffer to this extent." She cried out mournfully like someone who had been cheated.

Looking at the emotional girl in his arms, Li Yu's expression couldn't help but softened a little.

He also had been missing Little Liu a lot for many days now, if not that his mind being too occupied with training, he also would have broken down by now.

He returned her hug and began to pat her back.

"It's okay!! Aren't I here now,"

Li Yu began to pacify her, trying to make her stop crying.

Li Yu felt his heart string tugged really hard when he saw how much this girl missed and cared for him.

It was only in front of Li Yu that little Liu would show such vulnerability of herself, in front of others, she would act all cold.

"Don't cry again Little Liu, I'm here now," Li Yu said quietly when he realized that Little Liu would not stop crying, instead, her cry was increasing seconds after seconds.

It was only after a time that would take a candle stick to burn out before Little Liu was finally able to wake up.

"So this is where young master has been enjoying himself why I was out there missing and thinking of him all day long?" Little Liu was currently sulking unhappily as she looked at the beautiful out-of-picture scene around her.

Little Liu and Li Yu were currently taking a walk in the little garden.

After Li Yu had successfully pacified Little Liu, he took her around the places he had been, and lastly the little garden he loved the most.

Li Yu couldn't help but scratch his head in embarrassment.

He felt that Little Liu had been acting like a little housewife since she met him again, he who was also excited by it decided not to comment on it.

"Ah!! That reminds me, Little Liu, I thought that ingrate guard said father has forbidden anybody from visiting me?"

Li Yu's face was suddenly filled with confusion as he looked deeply at the beautiful face of Little Liu that has already been void of her mask.

"I- I- I"

Embarrassment was abruptly written all over Little Liu's face when she heard Li Yu's question. She tried to explain herself, but she just couldn't, her face began to blush.

"Don't- don't tell me that you killed the guard?"

With widened eyes that were filled with shock, Li Yu asked as he knew what Little Liu was capable of doing.

"What do you mean by killing him, has young master seen me as a serial killer?" Her embarrassed face instantly changed to an angered one when she heard what Li Yu had said.

"Hehehee, I'm sorry my lord, I'm wrong, please forgive me." Li Yu laughed awkwardly.

"Better, I only made the stupid guard unconscious when he would not let me in," Little Liu said as a matter of fact."

'only made him unconscious?!'

"I pleaded that he should let me see you for just a few minutes, that I need to report a life and death situation to you, but he would not let me in!"

Li Yu's face was instantly filled with seriousness when he heard the second part of what Little Liu said.

"Wait, what? What do you mean by life and death situation?"

"Young master, we can't finish on a stand, let's find somewhere to seat first." Little Liu sighed emotionally.

"Hehehe!!!" Li Yu suddenly laughed coldly when he finished hearing Little Liu's narration.

"So he was really planning something bad for me and father all along." Li Yu said lightly, as his body began to ooze out killing intent.

"Then what are we waiting for, arrange all the members of the shadow guards to hide around the clan's estate," Li Yu spat coldly.

Little Liu was also oozing out little killing intents for those that were trying to destroy the source of her life.

"Okay young master, but wouldn't the shadow guards know our identity now," She said quietly.

Looking at the space before him, Li Yu responds.

"Then I think it's high time they do. I have you created them because of days like this."

"Okay Young master…."

Li Yu looked around the beautiful but quiet garden for a few seconds, then he stood up from grass he was sitting

"Let's go together."

"But- but wouldn't patriarch become completely mad if he was to hear about it," Little Liu said quietly with concerns written in her beautiful voice.

"Sigh!!! He would understand why I did it."
