Oneshot thirteen, Family VS Work
Daveed Was a man that took his work very seriously he lived off coffee and the occasional meal, he has a daughter named Danielle that his wife emmy took care of most of the time. since she was born he had less and less time to spend with her having to fill out papers go to meetings do press tours from home and all this other stuff, emmy started to feel neglected and so did his daughter and it show whenever he was around them, she was constantly asking to take a break and sit down and eat but he kind of rejected it and went back to his office it was like a never-ending cycle. day in and day out he worked maybe three or four times a day to get coffee and a snack then went back to slaving away over his computer.
Emmy Danielle had only been alive for three months since she was in her no so whiny phase of Life, and it wasn't like she didn't have work of her own to do day in and day out she worked took care of Danielle and their two dogs and suck on the role of the upkeep of the house, she was particularly good at juggling tasks but so many having to be juggled she was bound to have to drop one so she dropped one of her deals that would certainly help her career just so she could take care of Danielle and juggle the rest of her task. after 2 months of the same thing she finally to herself that this wasn't going to work out that she needed to do something Eva take a break or divorce them it was like a seesaw he was tipping on both options, her mind weighing heavy on the pros and cons of each until she finally came to the conclusion.
she was going to go back home to Virginia to visit her parents and take Danielle with her Not only would allow her to get some free time also allow Danielle to experience other family, as the days went by Daveed didn't notice she had been packing baby stuff and her clothes until the day she was about to leave.
that night before the day she was going to tell him and leave he finally came upstairs and got in bed loopy from his days of work he's going to be down with the bed insulin his arm over emmy.
daveed: you know something I didn't tell you this but I snuck out today and went to the bar but the guys
These words shocked that she had thought he had been cooped up in his office all day long but in reality he was out partying and getting drunk with his friends, he put his arm off of her and turned out the light not saying the word knowing that she would snap out of it if you did.
Emmy; good night…
she said as she got her so comfortable in bed and started drifting off to sleep, she burned out his drunk and sweaters and just let herself go until her dreams.
The pleasant smell of roses filled her nostrils enlightening all of her senses she finally opened her eyes and found she was in a meadow of golden roses bending down to touch one she realize that they was so soft then it felt like she was floating, a pleasant feeling she had a fellow in a while this is what love felt like to her what she wanted what she needed from him but he refused to give. when she heard the soft crunch of the Roses behind her she quickly turned around to see Daveed standing there in all white.
Daveed: I'm so sorry that I ignored you it won't happen again
she knew it was all fake but wants to believe it so bad that he had really said those words ever since the baby came along he seem to not care about her one bit he barely remembered her name when he was here, she wanted to run to him and throw him into a hug that would send them tumbling towards the ground with something inside her stopped her from doing that. the feeling of abandonment she had been abandoned by him emotionally and physically was a dream that would never happen in real life and she realized she would leave him if he didn't clean up his attack. Quite frankly she didn't care.
The piercing sound of her phone alarm awoke her on a lovely Sunday morning, not wasting any time she's out of your bed and got ready. by the time she had gotten out of the shower Daveed Was already back downstairs working slaving over his keyboard, she paid it no mind and gathered her and Danielle things, She said that bag by the door tell Danielle and her arms and she went to his office.Godly knocking on the door the door cracked open hadn't been locked to like previous days, slowly walking in he didn't even notice her is fixated on the laptop as he fears we typed whatever you was typing.
Emmy: I'm not going to be here for two weeks I'm going home to Virginia and I'm taking Danielle with me
what she just spoke to read his heart away from the screen as he looked at her confused in the shop
Daveed; what why didn't you tell me this sooner what are supposed to go with you
Emmy; no it was just for me and Danielle you have so much work to do right but I'll give you lots of distraction by leaving my flights in about 30 minutes so I'm going to get going now I'll see you when I get back.
emotional sleep and she walked back to the front door it's Daveed followed behind, is he was babbling something that she couldn't make out and didn't care to hear and she picked up their bags do stuff out of the front door, before she can walk any further daveed grabbed her arm stopping her from leaving.
Emmy: let go of me now
Daveed: not until you tell me what this is all about
Emmy; fine you want to know what this is all about it's because you won't get off the damn computer for 1 seconds to help me take care of this goddamn house, and you've been neglecting your child you know how hard it is to take care of a house, a child, yourself, and two dogs. I bet you didn't even notice that I sent moose and Luna to Rafa's house. you know how many times over the past few months I've been contemplating divorce and you, that's why I'm leaving if I come back and you don't have your s*** together I'm leaving your ass.
she snatched the arm away and went to the car but everything in and then quickly drove off David just stood there dumbfounded and embarrassed, she was so loud that the next door neighbors came out to see all the commotion, he shot the door and went back inside and step down onto the couch I ran over the last events of the last two months and realize that everything she said was true she had been completely blocked out by his mind every word she said a blur, and she was right he had been neglecting their daughter and that you dogs.
Daveed: oh God
hunched over and rested his head on my hand and she realized how bad he had fucked up this time , divorce was never something he'd expect her to stay out of her mouth implying that she will never divorce with him. He didn't know what to do he was lost without her you spend too much time focusing on his career he didn't even realize that she had had one too and that she needed take care of her own to, he ran to her laptop and open it and started searching for her emails 1 alarming one, reading the email if I want to work he has really caused her to do.

Under the email was the paperwork he forwarded the email to Emmys email hoping that she would soon see it and sign it, deep down he knew that this wasn't going to be enough to make up what he had done I had to do more for the house was spotless because emmy was always obsessed with cleaning always wanting everything to be spotless. so what else was there to do.
Emmy and Danielle boarded the plane and just started to fight back in Virginia. It will be a while before they reach Virginia so they just sat back and took a nap, hours later when they finally landed they grabbed their bags and waited for Mom and Dad to pick them up. When they did they were meant hugs and kisses and then taken to where they were going to be staying at Emmys old childhood home.
Mom; so sweetie what's bring you here in the middle of the year
Emmy: oh no particular reason just wanted to Danielle to get the
Dad: you know we can tell when you're lying
Emmy: okay fine me and daveed haven't been having the best relationship right now
Mom: sweetie I thought you and him got along so well
Emmy; well we do this just ever since we had Danielle. He's been having a lot of work and yesterday he told me he wasn't working in his office that day you went out and got drunk with his friends.
Dad; so what did you do and what did he do
Emmy; I tried to get him away from his computer but he would always only come out for coffee and a snack, and he barely spoke to me and I was the last worth taking care of the dogs Danielle the house I'm trying to Kindle my own career.
Mom; oh so how's your friend going with you off of the topic of stress in all
Emmy: turn down a whole Netflix deal or a new upcoming show that people have been pretty hype about
Dad: but why sweetie
emmy; because I have to take care of the house the dog myself and Danielle and when I read like when the filming was supposed to start for that show I knew I wasn't going to be able to do it, the filming start 3 months from now we have Danielle two months ago so that means if David is still working by then I'm going to be out of luck
Mom; well did you tell him any of this
Emmy: kind of lashed out at him before I left
Dad: well weathering or not you still aren't getting along at the moment will take care of Danielle and you can just get your rest
Emmy: no no you don't have to do that I just came here so Danielle could get some time what are you I'm so now you can't be there for the birth you don't see your faces and know you before you know if it's older
Dad: well baby if you ever need a break just now we're always here

she finally turns on her phone once again and starts looking through her notification swiping away the Instagram, Twitter, and other social media notifications, she spots an email from daveed, he forwarded on Netflix email towards her opening in it and she reads the email. It's Daveed explaining what happened and why I rejected the deal, but they seem pretty understanding in the email and sent the paperwork, a little spark of joy into his forehead seeing that Daveed really does care about her. But that little spark it's enough to reunite the fire keep on it's worth I get there shoes with sign this or not, she ends up signing it in the end realizing if David took the time out of his day and his work time to get this deal back for me and must have meant a lot to him.
TWo weeks later, emmy finally is refreshed and forgot all about what happened with her and daveed, her parents have been a big help somehow they managed to stop Danielles obsessive crying and also allowed her to get most of her jacked up workout of the way and kept her from working herself into the ground.
Mom: sweetie you know we can buy a ticket to go back with you
Emmy: no mom i'll be fine
Dad: well okay then call us when you can
Her dad leaves a small kiss on her forehead and sends her off, she boards her plane and takes her seat placing Danielle in front of her.
Emmy: welp i guess it's time we see if your father has his shit together
She tickled her cheek and then laid back in her seat awaiting the plane's ascent.
5 long hours later, emmy finally landed at lax ready to get a taxi to go home when she spots Daveed as he comes running towards her, she gives a tired sigh and stops as he catches up to her.
Daveed; emmy im sorry
Emmy: look daveed i honestly forgot about it
Daveed: well i dont care im going to make it up to you, i've been ignoring you day in and day out doing work and most of the time sneaking out to get drunk
Emmy: so some of those times you snuck out and got drunk
Daveed: about half of the times
Emmy: daveed! You left me at home with a baby and two dogs to get drunk. Daveed i'm not trying to be mad at you right now but your giving me like ten reasons to be
Daveed; i'm apologizing i want to be there for Danielle, even though i wasn't for the first couple of mounts
Emmy let out a deep sigh and started crying something in her was hurt and bruised, stressed and a little depressed, that she had suppressed for a long time holding it back as long as she could, she just wanted a second to not have anything to do, no work, no responsibility just to be herself and be alone with a loved one. Step back from the spotlight. Daveed pulled her into a sympathetic hug and then took her hand leading her over to the car, they went after then and promised each other they'd choose family over work any day of the week.
