Chapter 22:The King's Plot.

Noticing the possibility of being seen through, king Julien fumbled with his hands and for a split second he gave himself out with a terrified facial expression.

"Um, that's...uh... confidential, I-I'm the world monarch,.my information systems have to be top notch, now I'll be heading to my function if you don't mind", keeping his head down to avoid eye contact he began heading for the exit. Before he could make it to the door, Gilbert had moved form behind him to before him in an instant blocking his path.

"What's the meaning of this, Mr. Gilbert". King Julien lost his calm and raised his voice, he knew that they might be onto him and he was starting to get desperate to escape.

"You didn't answer the question Lemuel just asked king Julien, that's very rude, it's not like you're up to anything right?", Gilbert asked cunningly.

"Fine!, Whatever, I'm tired of this act, it's not like you can do anything to change it at this point".

"What are you talking about?"

"Once you hear this you're bound to rebel, but I've already put some measures in place, in fact they are already in motion, can you feel it?"

"What baloney are you spouting again Julien?,Rebel?, What are you talking about?"

"You don't have to be always rowdy Finn, it's true the Strider family have been good and loyal servants to the royals for generations , and it honestly hurts to lose your protection like this , but I guess everything does come to an end. As we speak the rest of the of the Strider family back at your mansion are being taken down by my army for treason, or should I say future treason, oh and you five have been charged with it too"

"Treason?, The family has been captured?, Some jokes are over the top king Julien, our family has done nothing to be charged with such a crime"

"As I said, you will commit that crime in the future, once I tell you I'm working with the military and supported with capturing Brian Strider that is, it's a preventive measure I'm putting in place to keep you from destroying my plans".

"Let me get this straight king Julien, you're telling us that you connived with the military in Brian's kidnapping because of something you're planning, most likely because Brian now has that crest, and in order to prevent us from taking action you're charging us with the treason we're yet to commit in order to save our kin"

"Nice!, you're truly the leader of the family sir Lemuel, your intellect is admirable"

"So, what are you planning!?".

"Puhahahah, a silly question, like I'd just tell you that, but you know what?, Since you guys will be going somewhere you won't be returning and I have a little time to spare, I might as well tell you", he straightens his tie with a devilish grin after which he clears his throat while the brothers wait on him anxiously.

"Not too long ago the military of zone six reported to me that they were not happy about the division of the Zeus- meteor, because zone one had acquired a devastating military might due to the size of their meteor and were throwing their weight around. At first I turned a blind eye because I found no interest on the issue, but before long zones five and three joined in and continued pestering me on the matter so I could no longer turn a blind eye. Thus I called a cabinet meeting with the six prime ministers to decide on a way to handle the problem. After deliberating for three weeks, prime minister James Francis Ntow, of zone four suggested that we breach the magna Carta that prevents me from interfering in military matters and have me take over as the supreme commander of all of Earth's military might, so that I will be able to control the distribution of power and prevent these kind of petty disagreement among the zones. Zones five,three and six accepted the proposal but zones one and two said otherwise. Their reasoning being it will allow the monarch control too much power, which can encourage tyranny and corruption.

In the end the proposal was shot down and Zones one and two have refused co-operation. I couldn't just let such an amazing opportunity that will grant me even more power just bypass me, so I had to eliminate those that stood between me and my goal. Those of us who agreed tried to get rid of those who didn't and that ended up in a starting a war between two coalitions, zone one and two's against zone three, five and six's, with zone four staying neutral. A year now we've been trying to destroy the coalition between zones one and two but we suffer defeat everytime, and when we finally put them at the end of their tethers, that damned apostle of zone six refused to finish them off and betrayed us, running off with the apostolic power. Our plans may have delayed but now that we have the apostle crest which resides in Brian back we can get back on the road, what do you think?"

"Don't ask us that you psychopath!, What do you want all that power for?", Finn lashed out at the king he was not able to keep his cool anymore like the the rest, but he was stopped by Gilbert before he could hurt the king.

"I'm done here", the king said unfazed, "I still have a function to attend so I'll take leave of you".

"Unfortunately you're not going anywhere king Julien", Dauglas stood up from his seat, we can't let you go scot-free after hearing what you're planning"

"And you're gonna stop me?, hahaha, I think you guys should be more worried about yourselves, you've been in it for too long after all"

As king Julien ended his sentence, the brothers fell to their knees, they had become extremely weekend, actually they had felt they were getting weaker ever since they stepped into the room, but that was not a problem to worry about, but just suddenly they became too weak to even stand...
