"Ugh.."

Chika groaned as she blinked her eyes a couple of times before completely waking up from sleep. She noticed that it was already dark outside.

"Ah, I have the most awful dream!" She sighs and was about to get up when she felt the slime sticking from the floor up to her body like nearly dried glue.

The face of horror is evident on Chika's face as she can't move due to immense disgust radiating off her body. Her mouth hangs open as memories of what she's been through splashed into her brain like cold water.

"Ahhh…. AHH!!" A scream went out of Chika's mouth as she hurriedly took a towel and went to the restroom to clean herself from the slime.

"It's real, my gosh," Her body shivered as she sits on her bed dripping with water.

Currently, there's no tab or screen seen in front of her which she doubted whether it is real of not but when she swiped her hand in the air, it appeared.

"Yup, it is real."

Chika looks at her status while tilting her head, she's been staring at it for the last 15 minutes but she can't understand it all, making her more furious.

"What the heck is this? Giving me something so confusing!" Chika roared as she went and change her clothes into dry ones while staring at the screen from time to time. Her eyes are on the three points at the bottom.

After she fixed herself, Chika tried to click the strength bar and it increase one point and the remaining points decreased to 2.

"I see, I'm learning," Chika patted herself as she put all the points on Strength and instantly felt stronger than before. Her body is still the same but the energy inside her increases.

"I can't believe this!" She exclaimed when there was a knock on the door. Chika thought its the landowner again but when she opens the door, it was Kalish.

"Chika!" Kalish hugged her with joy but followed by a slap on the arm, "Why did you just run off? I took effort finding you in this town."

Chika laughed awkwardly as she let Kalish into her tiny room and sigh in relief as she just finished wiping the slimy floor after her bath.

"Yeah, I wanted to take a bath so bad with all those disgusting stuff sticking into my body," Chika reasoned out as Kalish squinted her eyes followed by a shrug.

"Well, I actually want to ask about what happened inside that tower after you…." Kalish's trail of guilt consumed her again. Chika holds her shoulder and smiled widely to show that she was fine with it.

"They rally new forces to kill the boss since if they eat someone, their body went to hibernate until they are hungry again or someone disrupts their sleep."

Kalish explained the details as Chika put the puzzles together, "That's why you all came back to kill the Lord while he's asleep after eating me?"

"Yes."

Chika sighs loudly as she looks at the moon sitting in the sky and glances at the gray screen playing at the side, "I don't know what happened but I just woke up on the cold floor full of saliva and the bat Lord is no longer there."

"I see," Kalish nodded her head in understanding and could see that Chika is telling the truth to her.

"Do you know what happened?" Chika ask, wanting to know how she managed to survive but most of all, she wanted to know why an artifact called Ace Smacker appeared right after that incident.

"We don't know too that's why I'm here to ask about the details but seemed like you're unaware too. I need to report this to the authorities since what happened is rare, actually, this is the first time someone came back alive after a … sacrifice." Kalish immediately stand up, faced Chika, and bowed her head 90 degrees.

"Chika, I'm sorry!"

Chika waved both of her hands and patted Kalish on the shoulder, "You are alive, I'm alive. So what's more important than that besides you're not the one who betrayed me and rather the one who stayed by my side till the end. Thank you."
