Traitor

The clicking sounds of heels on the tiles resonated in the house as Xue Ling approaching the back door. When she opened the door, she could see her best friend zoning into oblivion without any expression on her face. She sighed internally before she closed in on her and engulfed her from behind.

Fu Mingxia jolted from her dazed state and tried to pushed the person away but soon she realised who is embracing her and she grasped the arms. "You came."

"I do. Never miss a day, right?" She grinned when Mingxia nodded. "What're you doing here? Daydreaming about the what ifs again?" Mingxia did not say a word but Xue Ling knew what's swirling inside her mind.

"I told you, there's no use thinking about the past matter. Just focus on your future. Don't just wasting your time pondering about that ungrateful bi*ch. And I proposed to you numerous times to get revenge on her and her scumbag husband together with their allies but you refused. Although at this period we can't make any disastrous damage on their companies but we can do other things, you know. Don't you want to get back your parent's company that they swindled and bilked from you? Don't you want to avenge your parent's death?"

Mingxia's eyes flicked with unreadable emotions but Xue Ling knew she apparently furious about the matter as her arms were tightly clutched by her. She smiled gently and hugged her tighter.

"I had laid the foundation of a new company for you to lead.. I can only did what am I capable of but to manage and prosper the company, that I'm not sure I can do a great job as you did before. So you need to get hold of yourself. You're already healed from the injuries, so don't just wallowed in your self-pity and regrets."

Xue Ling released her from the hug before she crouched down in front of her while holding her hands. "I know you felt useless, hopeless and broken by your present disability. But XiaXia...it's cannot be the reason for you to give up upon your life and future. Who knows you'll be more successful and happier in the future if you strive harder. There're more unfortunate people in the whole world than you.. You just lost your ability to walk but others even lost their hands and voice too. Some people became crazy by many things but your mind still functioned well. You still have high intelligence albeit the brain injury that you had experienced. The most important thing is you're still alive while others may be dying on the hospital beds with various illness or even in unknown places. Some even died. So be more grateful with what you have."

Tears trickled down on their cheeks as they staring into each other eyes; one giving strength for the other while one trying to absorb the strength given to her.

"You're the most sensible, strong, independent and positive-driven person I've ever seen in my whole life. So stop with the negative thinking as it'll only gives you nothing but stress and nightmare. It's already a year. Please, please..please give me back my beautiful and strong best friend. I'm so lonely and depressed without your cheerful laughters and painful jabs. Come back to me, okay..?"

Mingxia gazed into her best friend eyes and she could see how hopeful and sad she was. 'Maybe...maybe she was right..how long should I wasted my time for the things that cannot be undone. Things happened for some reasons although I cannot find the reason now but as people says, 'the darkest night produced the brightest star.' Perhaps it was time to move on forward.'

"I..I'll try..my best.. Tha..thank..you.. for your..kindness and..faith in me. I love you, LingLing," she stuttered and tighten her hold.

"Awww...I love you too. Should I get divorce from my husband then?" Xue Ling proposed.

"LingLing!"

"Kidding, kidding.." Xue Ling raised her hands as a surrender sign before she kneel on the wooden patio and hugging her tightly. "Thank you and congratulations for your coming back into the world."

"Hahaha...silly!" Fu Mingxia gently thumped her back before she reciprocate the hug. "Thank you very much, LingLing. I can't imagined what will I be if you're not here."

"Aww..thank God for my shamelessness as I persistently stick myself with you like a chewed gum."

"Hahaha..."

Their happy atmosphere was interrupted by a masculine voice. "I heard someone wants to divorce me."

They turned slightly to the side and saw a handsome, tall and masculine man leaning sideway against the door with folded arms and raised eyebrow.

"You..you..you heard it wrong. I said no such thing," Xue Ling denied while averting her eyes elsewhere.

"Really? But I didn't mentioned it was you who said it. You had indirectly admit it, so...how should I punish you, dear wife?" The man stalked towards them while fixing his deep gazes at his chickened wife whom trying to hide from him beside the wheelchair.

He stopped and offered his hand to her but she refused to accept it. "Come here. Be good. You've crouched down for so long so your legs must be numb."

Xue Ling hesitantly places her hand on his calloused, big hand while slowly rose up from the floor and yelped in shocked when her husband suddenly pulled her up on his shoulder and smacking her raised buttocks twice. "Han Lei! Put me down..you scoundrel! Pervert man!"

The man's laughters rumbled in the backyard before he grinned widely. "I am. So I'll show you the pervert me." He smacked her butt again and looked down at Fu Mingxia. "Glad you're back. But now, excuse us as I've to demonstrate something to my dear wife. See you soon, Mingxia."

"Alright. Don't be too rough on her. And thank you, Han Lei for your supports. Be careful on the road."

"Help me, XiaXia.. Put me down, Han Lei..asshole."

Han Lei nodded as he strode into the house with the struggling Xue Ling thumping on his back. "Be good. You can scream my name loudly later. I would love it."

"Shameless man."

"Give me a godchild soon," Fu Mingxia shouted at their back and grinned widely.

"You heard her, honey."

"XiaXia..you traitor!"

Fu Mingxia blew her a flying kiss before she waving them goodbye and laughed loudly when Xue Ling pouted.
