"Thank you everyone for your hard works and supports." That's the only sentence Fu Mingxia aka Xia Min uttered before he stepped down the stage and mingling with the renowned specialists, congratulating and encouraging everyone for their well deserved success.
She did not bother to spare anyone else a look before she ambled towards the next big table, where the investors for the project was seated. Only three out nine seats are occupied, which mean there's only three investors for the mega project. The rest is designated for her and her entourage.
"CEO Li. I'm glad you could make some time for this simple launch event," Fu Mingxia offered a handshake to the middle-aged man and nodded with a polite smile.
"It's grand in it's simplicity. Just like you, Mr Xia. I wouldn't know you're this young if I failed to be here today. I'm really impressed by your ideas and professionalism." Li Jun accepted his handshake and leaning forward slightly, whispering, "I thought you're a woman when I signed the contract. Did I get it wrong all this while?"
"I am but I believed you'll keep it as a secret, Mr Li."
Fu Mingxia flashed him a tiny smirk before she shifted her attention on the next man. A hunky young man with charming light blue eyes. "Zarco. Welcome."
"You looked ravishing as a man. I felt like pouncing on you, X," he whispered. "Can I have my way with you?"
"I don't do anal sex, Z. Especially with a manwhore like you. Maybe you could try your charm with that man or his friend," she whispered back in her original voice.
Zarco raised his brow at her. "Five o'clock, all black suit with silver striped tie and small hair bun or his friend, light brown suit with polka dots tie. Your choice," she continued in low voice without looking back yet she knew Hao Shen and Qing Fai is currently watching her movements right now, or more precisely Xia Min's.
"He's hot. But why did I found him quite familiar?" Zarco discreetly observing Hao Shen and widened his eyes in the next second. "Hey, he's your ex-boyfriend six years a--" He clamped his mouth when Fu Mingxia secretly pinched his back, feigning patting his shoulder.
"We could discuss the matter further another time, Zarco," she dismissed him and offered a handshake with the last man. "Mr DeSimone."
The last investor, a striking and imposing man in his early thirty whom stood tall in one hundred and eighty nine centimetres height. There's a rose tattoo on his nape, that slightly hidden inside his shirt. He exudes a dangerous aura that make people feeling afraid to approach their table or getting closer to him. Yet, he flashed her a warm smile that reaching his grey eyes, astounding others.
"Did you just call me that?" He whispered in dangerously low voice as he accepted her handshake.
"Eric," she mimicked his tone.
"That's better. By the way, I think I saw him. That's him, right? In fact, he's staring in our direction. Did he recognise you?"
"No. He couldn't even recognise me well in my woman attire."
"Loser!"
"Can't blame him as I also couldn't recognised him well when I saw him months ago in the club. We both changed in some ways in these five years."
"Double loser."
"Whatever."
Fu Mingxia walked passed him to sit on the vacant chair, yet Eric ushered her to sit on his chair while he took the seat beside her. So, right now she is seated in between Zarco and Eric, much to her annoyance. Because both men are too overprotective of her since she told them about her disabled situation almost a year ago.
Others started flocking towards their table, offering them congratulations and brown-nosing them yet the men did not entertaining them more than necessary, making others politely excused themselves, lest they made a clown out of themselves in front of the prominent men or unintentionally provoke them.
"Mr Xia. It's fancy meeting you here," a man humbly greeted yet Fu Mingxia just regarded him as air as she continues conversing in low voice with Zarco.
Xue Ling, on the other hand almost stood up to lash at him if not for Han Lei's fast reflexes, calming her down.
Two men approaching the table from the other side.
"Xia Min." A familiar deep voice, addressing her alter ego sending a ripple of familiar feeling into Fu Mingxia heart, just like months ago.
She composed herself after Zarco discreetly poked her thigh, signaled her to greet the man with mischievousness twinkling in his eyes.
"Mr Hao. Or should I address you as Dr Hao?" She looked up, not bothered to stand up or offer him a handshake.
Hao Shen observed the man that supposed to be his brother-in-law indifferently before he turned to look at the men on either side of him. "Mr Fitzgerald. Nice to meet you again." He outstretched his hand for a handshake.
Zarco smirked and clasped his hand tight, "Likewise, Mr Hao."
"Mr DeSimone. Fancy meeting you here." He nodded and offered his hand.
Eric reciprocated yet arrogantly said, "Couldn't say the same thing about you, Dr Hao."
Hao Shen ignored his remark and turned to look at Xia Min again. "I don't know you're acquainted with them, Mr Xia."
"There're too many things that you didn't know about me, Dr Hao."
"True. So I hope we could converse further so we could know about each other more, for old time's sake."
"Couldn't promise you. Let's see, Dr Hao."
"Hao Shen." They all turned to look at the new comer that currently accepting Wang Tai's handshake and bow.
"Master." Hao Shen politely bowed at the old man in his seventies whom adorning a metal grey suit, complimenting his grey hair. "I don't know you're coming too, Master."
Qing Fai bowed and greeted him too, "Master."
The old man nodded, "Wang Tai kindly informed me about this new technology. So I took some time out of my schedule to come here. It's really an impressive thing."
