Once I stepped out of the restaurant I immediately walked down the sidewalk desperate to get away from any prying eyes as I tried hard to not burst into tears. I thought telling Vasili about my dreams and aspirations for our future would make him realize he did not mean what he had said after his fight with Katarina.
For him to not even want children with me broke my heart. I could tell from his facial expression that I was not going to get the answer I desired but I had hope. I had hope maybe the guilty expression on his face was just him processing what I had said to him.
