The Lovers - reversed

"Have you heard? Chara may have bewitched Gavyn?" Someone said whispering to another in the dining room, everyone even the human residents are spreading the rumor evading Chara whenever possible.

Dominique started to avoid the others out of fear of being traced back to the one who gave Gavyn the potion, he felt bad for Chara who was being blamed for clearly something she didn't do as her past history of being the child of an archmage.

He takes pity on her by helping her with the laundry, he hid the book away in his clothing drawer trying to think nothing more of Avic.

The kitchen becomes Chara's safe haven, Dominique finds her there crying softly to herself with her down on the counter, he says nothing pulling up a seat to sit next to her.

It is all his fault after all that she is being put in such a bad situation, its easy to accuse her as she can still operate magick.

Dominique lays his head down next to her, she places her hand on the top of his head.

"Why are you here?"

They both sit up at the same time, "Because I want to be?"

"Aren't you scared of me?"

"No, I am not because you did nothing wrong."

"At least you are on my side..." Chara replies hugging Dominique, he squeezes her back shortly after getting up from the seat to be met face to face with Sophia outside the kitchen door.

His face reddens as she closes upon him, "S-s-Sophia?"He asks surprised by her sudden appearance.

"You know...I feel silly, but perhaps we can get to know each other better Dominique?"

"What about Gavyn? He is still in a coma Sophia, you should be with him..."

Sophia hesitates to answer him, "I am not in love with him anymore..."

"How can you say that?"

"I just did...didn't I?"

He clutches his chest, he thinks to himself was this Avic's doing as well? Did she put a spell over Sophia? His head feels muddled looking at her gentle features, her large beautiful green eyes, even her freckles are more noticeable despite the fact the compound intakes no sunlight.

"Y-you need to take some time to think Sophia, Gavyn..."

"So then let's go on a date...just me and you."

He could feel his heartbeat out of his chest going numb by the thought alone, "Sophia..."

Mathew and Carson pass by them both to stop abruptly. "You two shouldn't go near the kitchen since Chara is in there." Mathew spouts laughing.

"Why do you pick on Chara so much?"Dominique asks.

"Why hasn't Gavyn come out of his coma? Chara is a maid for the household and uses magick outside of most of the other vampires in the house."

"Who started the rumor?"

"I have no idea, but it seems obvious it's beyond medical Dominique," Carson replies, Sophia stays silent only latching onto Dominique's hand rubbing her face against it.

Mathew and Carson look on in shock, "I thought you were with Gavyn Sophia!" They shout together, she only glares at them.

"I said the same thing...I got to go, Sophia, let's talk later!" He said dashing off back into his room, it has become his safe haven almost like a womb protecting him.

"How could you put me in your drawer, Dominique! I thought you were finally progressing!"

"Avic...it's Sophia, all a sudden she has become clingy and I don't know what to do!"

"When we kissed her, you gave her suggestions and those suggestions started to infest her heart..."

"What are you saying Avic?"

"She will only have eyes for you..."

"I don't want this anymore...please cure Gavyn! Please cure Sophia!"

Avic brings out a set of cards shuffling them placing them on the bed slowly revealing each one to him, the high priestess now in reverse, the world in reverse, the moon in reverse, the magician in reverse, the devil in reverse, the stars in reverse and lastly the lovers in reverse.

His mind reels trying to process the cards being sat in front of him, "Are you saying this is me?"

"Dominique...your life is rapidly changing and there is nothing I can do to stop it..."

"I don't want this in my life, but why is it seven cards and not six?" Dominique questions making sure he counted right.

"Because you will it..."

"Can I take back my blood pact Avic?"

"You are with me for life Dominique...you are only going to keep progressing from here I assure you..."
