"Please keep me safe then Devil," Alex says softly, Christian takes him into his arms to embrace his master with affection.
"As you wish, I will keep you close always..."
Christian's mind reels, so much to unpack if this is truly his last day on earth as anything doesn't have to be human just existing is a splendid experience.
"We got to go out for now Alex." Steel responds to him happily.
Suddenly Christian gets chills down his back looking around himself, he thinks about how he saw a rabbit earlier; he sent him back in time he thought.
Shimon runs over to greet Steel and Christian, "No worries, I will keep a watch on him."
"Has he been retaining any memories, Shimon?" Steel requests to know.
"He knew I was the Devil's Assistant..." Christian answers, they all turn to Alex, Christian holds his mouth as the words spill out of his mouth.
"That's right he did say that, I wonder the full extent of the damage?" Steel wonders to herself unsure how that could be answered.
Alex lets his fingers glide over to Christians' chest, "You are vanishing Devil."
His hands glow a bright cyan blue stabilizing the Devil's body, "Impossible!" Christian yells feeling the temporary strengthening of his soul.
"How could you tell Alex?" Shimon questions confused, "Do you see it?"
"It's is the aura, it's fading on the Devil...I don't want to lose him." Alex states.
"We have to leave now!" Clarence says tossing the backpacks to Steel and Christian, Carol is behind them readying his chauffeur status.
"I want to go with Devil," Alex demands hanging tight to Christians' sleeve.
"You need to stay here with Shimon please?" Christian tells a disappointed Alex, he becomes painfully aware of the words dribbling out without control, he realizes even his body is moving without him needing to.
His blank expression turns blank looking towards the door, gradually working toward the knob he turns it slowly running out the exit; everyone watches in shock as Alex spontaneously lost attention.
Christian dashes after Alex, he observes him following something he could not fathom, "Alex...Alex can you hear me?"
He is deaf to his surroundings pursuing some invisible source walking casually exploring the area before dunking into the foliage of the forest.
This is slowly eating at Christian's energy that Alex had stabilized earlier the longer he attends his master's curiosities walking through an endless pit of greenery encircling them.
"Master Alex where are we going?"
He says nothing back only bending down over a large tree trunk sunk into the dirt bed in the middle of the woods, he was fearless in the nameless endeavor.
Looking up at the tree's he wonders if this forest is enchanted? Something feels always so haunted and at the same time protective, his attention is brought to a pair of lingering eyes catching him cold almost paralyzing him with fear.
Alex screaming could be heard out of nowhere, dashing over he plummets into the dip skidding on his back knocking into a large tree he was sure wasn't there before; he is knocked out several minutes before reclining his back against the trunk of the tree.
"Alex! Can you hear me?" Christian shouts, he doesn't return his call, he ends up using the tree as support to inch down the rest of the way down.
At the very bottom, he finds footing to stick his shoe and not slip, "Alex! Master!"
Gawking around worriedly till he catches sight of Alex standing in front of The White Rabbit, the two looked already well acquainted.
Christian stomps over furiously enraged, "You sent us back in time!" He blurts out.
"Master Alex, you should stop your pet from being rude."
"Pet? When did I become a pet?"
"When Alice became a sword..." The Rabbit spouted, his eyes meeting his with a glare of hatred, his nose crinkles up.
"But she is my sword..." Alex responds bluntly, "Did I insult you?"
He smoothed the lines in his suit, "I used to be something more to her..."
"She needs you more than ever Rabbit, she is stuck in the other side of the mirror!" Christian states, Alex looks up at his servant puzzled.
"Mirror...so his shattering was not the usual kind..."
"What do you mean by that?"Alex asks, The White Rabbits fingers caress Alex's jaw gently moving up to his eyes.
"Alice was not in her right mind if her body is now in the mirror, you both share a bond...this was made as protection from those who want the vorpal blade."
"Then whose sword is in Edwin's hands?"
"A weaker double, Alice must be carrying his memories to protect him..."
The watch's alarm goes off in his pocket making him scramble to his feet, he jumps up and around about to run, "I must go now!"
"But can you stay to chat a bit more?" Christian begs, "We need to know!"
"I will come to you! Be cautious, please!"
"Understood..." Christian responds feeling helpless for his master, the white rabbit pats Alex's head ruffling his hair a little.
"Little one your fate is a sad one if you both never meet."
Alex says nothing in return, it is hard to tell if he is feeling any true emotions inside of him right now, "I am certain we will meet again."
"I hope you always carry that inside of you...I am sorry about earlier Devil."
"No worries, have a good day!" Christian replies waving the rabbit as he gets further and further away from them disappearing into the distance.
An eerie fog settles over the forest, Christain takes Alex's fingers in his making sure to hold tightly, "Let's go back, Master..."
