Alex's arrival

The next week Dominique and Avic would be practicing his form and how to control his newfound blood magick distracting him from Gavyn and Sophia.

He would find the experience freeing, "Maybe I should consider the guild rank test!"

"You should, but aren't you worried when Elijah asks you how you got this ability?

"I will just say I always had it?" Dominique replies, Avic places her hand over his mouth, looking around and gazing into the windows.

"Up to you, but be confident Dominique."

"I mean of course?"Dominique replies curiously as she peeks above and below, Avic throws the towel at him, a sound in the bushes causes Dominique to take a stance.

"Dominique don't!" Avic reprimands him, "Stand down, we don't know who is there."

"It's only me Avic, I got a new member with me," Elijah explains, what looks like a boy; his hair is dark brown, he hung over Elijah's back covered in bandages.

His eyes completely covered, "He passed the registration at Makai's compound..."

"What happened to him, Master?" Dominique asks, "Do you need help?"

"Makai wanted him, but instead I decided to take him."

Chara comes out towels draped on her shoulder, Dominique takes the new kid following behind them both almost gliding with his new trained strength.

"You've been training a lot these days, it's impressive!" Elijah compliments him, he merely blushes, laying the boy on the bed as instructed by Chara.

She shuts the door behind them, "I will go back to training with Avic, thank you." Dominique responds bowing, this is the happiest he has felt in a long time.

Stretching his limbs getting warmed up for his next session, "Hold on cowboy." Avic replies, looking towards the door.

Watching her amble back inside she walks straight into the room making chat with Chara as she tends to Alex, a deep sense of jealousy hits him subconsciously.

"What exactly happened to him?" Avic asks, removing the bandages on Alex, lifting his arm around her shoulder sitting him against the head of the bed, his head tilts down as Chara re-wraps the bandage over his eyes.

Avic assists Chara in dressing his deep wounds, "At Makai's compound they go through a sort of training based on very old decrepit torture devices, they live in them for days."

"So why did Elijah pick him?" Dominique questions, "He seems so scrawny."

"He passed, but barely in those tests apparently, but he likes his conviction to survive which is why Makai wanted him."

"I can't hear anyone..." The boyish man mumbles before sitting up panicking, Chara grabs him by the shoulders trying to settle him, he thrashes around wanting to get up, Dominique gets up to punch him in the gut.

"Dominique, what was that for?" Chara shouts as he falls into his arms, Avic glances annoyed with Dominique at that moment.

"He needed to calm down, we wouldn't have the time to wait for Melina..."

"Melina is in a meeting with others, so you aren't wrong," Chara responds, lying the kid down, Dominique's eyes open widely confused.

"Melina isn't even here?" He asks, "How did you expect to calm him down then?"

" You are right...I need to sit with him the rest of the night in case." Chara says, Dominique places his hands on hers.

"I will stay with him tonight so you can get some rest, you work so hard..."

She looks so deeply into his eyes blushing, looking away, "Thank you, Dominique."

"Can I ask what he had been doing to put him out like?" Dominique questions.

"He was inside the iron maiden for about if I recall right...three days."

"Iron maiden? Why in the Gods would they force that still?"

"This is with water pressure on top of that so he couldn't open it."

"My goodness, no wonder he can't hear..." Avic responds staring at the child-like man, she was staring almost longingly.

Dominique would suddenly bear a grudge deep inside his heart for this person, he thought he caught Avic grinning, but was quickly mistaken to turn the next and see her dust off her long skirt.

"Where are you going Avic?" Dominique inquires.

"I am restless, I need to eat..I will be back later to check on you both."

"I never asked...Avic..."

"Yes, Dominique?"

"What do you eat to stay in that form?"

"Human flesh, bone, blood...I am not your average creature of the night..."

She said closing the door behind her with only a smile that soon vanished behind the shadows exiting with only the echoes of laughter in the air.

His attention returns to what he see's as a kid, the next couple of hours he would be sitting there bored, it would be to make up what he feels is owed to Chara.

The kid tries to get up, Dominique tries to get him to lay back down; he swings his hand out to hit him, "I am Alex, whoever you are!"

"Hey calm down already, take it easy."

Alex concludes whoever is in front of him does not wish ill of him, he feels around the blankets leaning against the headboard, "I am not at Makai's I assume?"

"No, you have a new master Alex, his name Elijah."

"Was I sold?"

"I don't think so, it will be okay...you need to rest more."

"What is your name?"Alex asks, Dominique takes his hand forming it into a fist, they fist bump.

"My name is Dominique, the maid is busy so I said I would watch you."

"Oh, this compound has a maid?"

"Who do you think dressed you?" Dominique replies, Alex's face turns red pushing the blankets over his head.

"I hate it when people touch me!"

"You are okay now though, you are safe and your eyesight will return soon I am guessing!"

"That will be nice..." Alex responds, the door opens to Chara bringing in a small bag of vials handing a couple to Dominique and Alex.

"Are you awake now Alex?" Chara questions patting him on the head, he attempts to pull the stopper off even though his hands were shaking.

"Why am I here?"

"Master Elijah thinks you would be safer here, Makai would eat you alive," Chara adds, Dominique takes the vial from Alex popping the lid open to hand it back to him.

"Thank you so much," Alex answers drinking it slowly.

"You must be all nerves right now..." He responds back about to help him with the other when retracts it pushing it under his pillow.

Alex lets out a sigh, his fangs jut out pounding against his gum almost like he is in pain, "I will save the other for later..."
