Jared POV
Zina pulled away from me and walked towards the kitchen, I knew she was hiding again and I was done trying to play by her rules.
If I leave to herself, she will continue to push me away.
"Zina," I said softly, my voice breaking the silence. "We need to talk."
She froze for just a second before slowly turning to face me. There was a flicker of something in her eyes, but she quickly masked it with a neutral expression, like she was afraid I would see right through her. I wasn't here to play games, though. I wasn't going to leave until she understood that I was with her—no matter what.
"I don't need to talk, Jared," she replied, her voice low but firm. Her lips trembled slightly, betraying her, but her eyes were still guarded. "I just... I just need some space right now."
