Then again, there's one way he could derail the entirety of the plot. Absorb the Boosted Gear. But he doesn't want to. It would attract attention from Rias and Sona. The two would definitely want him on their peerage. He could probably get Sona to realize he doesn't want that... But Rias.

She might not give up. She's desperate to get out of the arranged marriage with Riser. She was willing to let Issei die, just so she could get him. While it would've been easier for her to slip her blouse down a bit, she just let him die.

Sure, he was a massive pervert, but to let a human die just so you could get want you want... It's despicable.

Rei knows she treats her peerage like family, but it doesn't justify it... It was a dick move.

No doubt would she go to some extreme means to get him if he got the Boosted Gear, so let's stay away from that.
