Gambling Again

Gorbin and Gabbie reported their findings to Adrian leaving the knight tied up under the watch of some wolf riders. Adrian began to think as he listened to their findings, he was confused because what he knew about magic was slightly different that what he was told.

He also didn't remember a "skull country" from his previous life, but he can't really take that into account as he doesn't have all his memories yet. He did come to the conclusion though that he wasn't from the same planet as this one, maybe even an entirely different universe.

The information that there were other dungeons was not surprising to Adrian though as he had guessed as much from how the bandits and knights acted. The fact that the pillar he had seen previously was a dungeon did come as a slight surprise though, he didn't expect another dungeon to be so near to his.

He was also confused that the knight didn't mention combat power at all, his only guess was that his inspect was what applied that statistic and it was unique to him. He was able to infer based on what he had seen though that each breakthrough in cultivation equated to a power level of 1-5 ranks. So a Knight squire would be anywhere from 0 stars rank 0-4 and a Standard knight would be 0 stars rank 5-9, and so on and so forth.

He also learned from the knight that not all monsters were deemed as Evil in this world. There were even monsters like goblins and orcs who lived in Endless City, right outside of the dungeon. The main threat to this world was dungeons, as all monsters inside of a dungeon were deemed as evil and killed intruders.

Naturally this didn't mean all monsters outside of dungeons were good, just like not all humans were good. So the Adventurer's guild gave out quests to kill monsters that were dangerous, just like they gave quests to kill humans who were evil.

Some people didn't like this idea and think all monsters should die, like the knight who was being interrogated. Due to this there is often discrimination against monsters by humans who think themselves better.

"Go ahead and finish the knight, we got what we needed. Let the dungeon eat him." Adrian said to the goblins, he was not an evil person, he just looked at the world with a different perspective. There were more cons to leaving the knight alive than there were for killing him.

For the safety of him and his dungeon he had to make tough decisions sometimes, killing humans is just the law of the jungle for a dungeon master like him.

But enough of all that, Adrian looked at the DP he had been saving up and decided it was time for some more renovations. The Knight squad made him realize that his defenses were actually quite weak. He was scared that they would go deeper into his dungeon!

The first thing he did was open the map and look towards the dungeon boss room, he started to decorate the room, as it was just a plane cave at the moment. He added a few rose bushes, made the floor grassy and placed some Luminous Flowers for light.

Satisfied with the decoration he went to the front of the dungeon boss room and looked at the entrance. He decided it would be too easy to be allowed to just enter the boss room like that so he added a [Riddle Door] to the entrance.

With this he was able to set a riddle that had to be answered in order to pass. Once the riddle was answered correctly the door would open and you could enter.

Sticking with the theme of his dungeon he input a bunch of Plant and Flower riddles. The first one that appeared was "I am a plant that has no stem, leaves, or roots. What am I?".

The riddles would rotate one they were asked so the next person would not already know the answer and would have to answer themselves. The door did have a cooldown time though, so it would stay open for an hour after a riddle was answered before it reset itself.

He had spent a total of 450 DP on these additions to his dungeon and was left with just over 1000 DP. Looking at this he decided it was time to gamble!

He looked down at World as he patted him saying "Give me some luck buddy! I am going to need it right now".

He spent 1000 DP and watched as the roulette wheel began to spin, the arrow slowly ticking passed the different prizes.

He watched it begin to slow as the arrow ticket passed a very rare prize causing him to curse. The roulette almost stopping it landed right in the middle of two prizes, a common, and an Epic teetering back and forth between the two.

"PLEASE!" Adrian said as he watched this, eventually the arrow landed on the Epic where it stopped causing Adrian to shout "YES!".

He kissed the trunk of World as he laughed "My lucky star!"

He looked at what prize he had won giddy with euphoria at winning another successful gamble. 'They should call me the gambling god!' he thought narcissistically.

He opened his dungeon inventory and saw that there was a skill book sitting inside of it. What luck! He was not yet able to buy skill books and he won one from the roulette wheel!

He pulled it out as he looked at the skill book curious as to what he got.
