Beginner Dungeon Trawl

Cale took a taxi near the dungeon and walked the remaining distance. The entrance of the dungeon was actually guarded, but only by two ordinary humans. Dragons might control this country, but Dungeons were apparently open to all races including humans. It was a weird logic, but there was apparently a curse that all races were afraid off. Trying to monopolize a dungeon would cause a curse to fall upon the monopolizer's familial line and bind the power of the entire family.

Thus humans would enter the dungeons with masks, unafraid of potential surveillance thanks to the fear of the observer being cursed.

Cale entered this beginner dungeon with 10 floors, however, each floor was supposed to be small. Cale chose this because he didn't have any attacking skills, and the entry region of the dungeon had harmless slimes.

As Cale entered the dungeon his dungeon panel lit up.

[Do you wish to crash the dungeon? Prize 1000 DP]

Crash the dungeon.... This was the unique right of a dungeon master. Crashing the dungeon involved clearing the dungeon within a time limit and finding the dungeon's core. Completing the challenge could be done only once and would give a prize. In this case the prize was 1000 dungeon points.

Cale wasn't planning on crashing the dungeon this time, he rejected the quest and entered the dungeon. He had come to create some basic fighting skills and gain some dungeon points by selling monster drops.

The first floor of this dungeon was only slimes, however, different areas had different slimes. This first area only had basic slimes.

These slimes had no attack at all and were perfect for Cale. Most would just ignore these slimes, but Cale came to this dungeon only for these basic slimes.

He walked to one slime and kicked it with all his strength. The slime splattered on wall, but did not die. However, Cale's eye of insight showed it had now acquired an injured state.

Cale kicked it again as the injured slime came to blindly stick to him and the slime exploded as it crashed into the wall. The slime evaporated and a small orb was left behind.

Cale kept it within his inventory. Each slot of his inventory could hold 20 of the same item, so Cale wasn't worried about space. Cale kept killing basic slimes by kicking them amd collecting their cores. He killed around 20 level 3 basic slimes, but he still hadn't leveled up.

"This isn't like games. Leveling up seems to be very hard. Killing 20 level 3 monsters has me only halfway up level 1. Oh, looks like i finally learned Basic Kick."

[Skill Basic Kick acquired.]

Cale suddenly had the image of a kick appear within his mind. He got to work, employing that kick to kill the basic slimes. He was able to now kill the slimes with one basic kick.

After he killed around 30 more kills he finally leveled up.

Now that Cale acquired 50 basic slime cores, he opened his shop and sold them to get 50 Dungeon Points.

He then continued killing Basic Slimes. Over time, he found his Basic Kick leveling up twice to level 3. He had killed over 200 more slimes. At that point the basic slimes had all disappeared, and Cale felt a little sad. However, a larger slime appeared.

"Huh? There was no mention of this in the data she gave me."

"Luck for All?" Cale mumbled. "There's no details about this slime, is it a unique mutation?" He wasm't sure what the skill Luck for All did.

Eye of Insight's description seemed pretty vague. Either way it didn't look like an attacking skill, so Cale used basic kick on it. However, his kick suddenly twisted and he kicked the air!

Cale suddenly got some idea about this skill. He kicked the slime again. This time the slime was hit and it fell back.

Cale's eye popped out. This skill was really unpredictable. He kicked the Blessed Slime again, however, the kick implausibly missed again and his ankle twisted instead. This time Cale punched the slime.

Cale was really happy, this mutated slime seemed like an amazing monster to use to train skills. However, because of that bizarre luck for all skill, the punch became a critical hit and the Blessed Basic Slime died. The slime barely gave any experience at all, despite being several levels higher than Cale. However, it dropped a different item than a core.

Cale smiled and ate the fruit.
