Chapter 12: History (3/3)

[Nátt's Age: 13]

Puberty was a nightmare that Nátt hated that he had to go trhough it again- Like, he was feeling horny all the time, he could deal with being horny, but suddenly brusting magic when he is horny and allerting his dad? NO.

He cursed his magic whenever he was suddenly with a boner and flowers and bushes started to sprout around him as a burst of magic echoed around him- Casting a 3rd Level [Plant Growth] spell, which he already knew how to use it. HIs magic just reacted to his body's changes and echoed his emotions into creating the pattern for this third level spell so fast Nátt didn't even knew it was possible.

But his dad... Recently cracks started to appear on his wooden skin, and the song his father's soul would sing was slowly but surely growing fainter and fainter- Like it was echoing from far away from, he could'nt deal with losing naother person in his life, so he begged his dad to drink the [All Healing Potion] they made, they only had 2 of those and Nátt wanted to use one of them on him to see if he could be cured.

Well, it turns out he's too old to continue living- Nature's calling him, they want their dragon back it seems.

Nátt was destroyed to know his only friend- His fucking father, was slowly dying, and tehre was nothing he could do about it, well, he could try to go against nature, but his whole power aligned with nature, so it wouldn't work at all. It was destiny it seems.

Nátt cried a lot that day, his fingers brushed against his father's bark as the old dragon could no longer move, the pain of having his body breaking at each step he took was too much, so all Nátt could do was try to lessen this pain by giving a poiton that took away all his senses of pain. The potion was this:

[Potion of Numbness:

A powerful pain relief potion that can take away all pain in this world- Physical, emotional, and magical in nature. It cannot heal any wounds, only take away the pain it causes. It cannot take the pain from curses that affect the soul- It also cannot take away any pain directly to the drinker's soul.]

This potion allowed his dad to sleep peacefully, he would wake up to talk to him, they would play and talk, but using magic and moving was stricktly prohibited by Nátt, since using it would only accelerate the rate at which Yggdrasil's body was breaking away. More and more moss was growing on his body, as well as mushrooms and other plants, it was like he was becoming an entire forest- It was beautiful and yet, dreadfull, since that was his dad dying.

I won't lie here and say Nátt didn't think or try to keep his dad alive, but he gave up soon after his dad's lecture:

"Nature isn't fair, my dear, it is a wild and unfair place where everything dies- The rabbit gets eaten by the wolf, the wolf gets eaten by the tiger, the tiger gets eaten by the Lindworm, the Lindworm gets eaten by Loxon, the Loxon then is eaten by a dragon- And the cycles repeats. This is a cycle of suvival and beauty, but also ruthlessness and no mercy. Be like nature- Be beautiful, be ruthless, be gentle, be cruel, be kind, be mad, be yourself and do not hide- Be bright like the leaves of the trees in plain spring, be cold as the winds of winter, be warm as the dew of summer, be relaxed as the cozy" Yggdrasil chuckled, the mere action of chuckling cracked even further his body

"'Vibes' as you call it-" Nátt was already crying by now, his tears falloing into the ground, where grass and small buds of flowers started to grow abnormally. "But be always ready- For tomorrow is a hope, never a promise." Yggdrasil rested his large draconic head upon the mossy floor of his cave, his green orbs (literally, his eyes were green orbs of energy and wood) stared deeply at Náttúrumaður Grænn- His son, his little dragon. "Tell me, son- What do most stories have in common?"

Sniffing, Nátt smiled sadly at his father, saying: "They end."

The dragon smiled, this time his eyes smiled, since opening a jaw would only further accelerate his inevitable death, but he wants to stick here as long as he can so he can see his son grow up, be an adult dragon! "Yes, they do, don't they?" His wooden eyelids closed as he felt his son carefully and hesitantly lied down ebside him in his mossy cave, letting himself sleep beside his father. HIs hair had grown out off that bright phase, becoming darker and darker, until it became completely black- just like the small stubble growing on his face that he doesn't care about. His eyes continued to be that beautiful dark honey color, which made Yggdrasil so proud of his cuteness!

Look, this is his son!

Look at his son.

Sadly, he couldn't fly to the nearest dragon den and invited the dragon there to come see his son, he wants to go around showing off to everyone how his son is a genius- You don't understand, it would take a human that is tallented in magic 3 years of continious tries and research to succesfully draw the pattern on the spell to succesfully use it.

But his son doesn't even need a demonstration before he is already casting them- He just used the 3rd Level spell named [Aura of Vitality] to heal his broken body, which made the breaks go away for a few minutes before the place where the crack was, cracks again. He's thankfull that his son created another miracle for him- A potion that can take away all the pains he was feeling because he was going against nature to sta a few years more.

If he didn't resist, he would turn into a beautiful tree and die, maybe become something new- Who knows.
