The Kidnapper Calls Again!

When Yi Long Fei emerged from the bathroom, Jiang Fang was awake, propped up against the pillows and gazing at the huge television mounted on the wall with indifference.

"This is not the right thing to say, but it serves him right," she murmured in a cold tone towards the news of Mo Bing being kidnapped.

With just one glance at the report, Yi Long Fei could tell that Mo Xie wanted to ask Book Lords for help, considering she would reward 100 million essence coins to the person who found her son.

For a moment, Yi Long Fei felt helpless.

He wasn't passive enough to forgive Mo Bing for his previous crimes, but he wanted to rescue him to earn Mo Xie's favor and possibly get the chance to enroll at the only university in Acoustic City.

Such thoughts quickly vanished from his mind, since he was only a mortal in this life, just like in his past life on Earth.

The difference from his past life is that he was no longer chubby and revolting.

He had been reborn into the god of handsomeness, and his level of understanding things had reached a stage where no one could match up with him.

Maybe this was the effect of being reincarnated.

Now his eyes wandered to the girl wearing his school shirt, her twin tails tousled in a way that prompted reflexive thoughts of what they had been doing since they arrived at this apartment room.

'Ahh, that was awesome, we were like wild beasts.' He stood there, enjoying the brief flashback, rubbing the water from his hair with a towel.

Jiang looked up at the blond man and folded her arms together, pouting.

She was probably slightly too old to pout, yet that small action carried an ocean of cuteness in it.

"Why are you still refusing to see my mother? I have already told her about you, and she was happy about the two of us being together. So, you know, she was the one who told me to swallow my pride and confess to you."

Yi Long Fei's body shuddered in horror as he remembered the image he saw when his current girlfriend showed him the picture of her mother.

'Miss Jiang is the sugar mama who sponsored me till eleventh grade! She has a weird habit of wanting to have sexual relationships with young boys!'

After coming out of the orphanage, Yi Long Fei was dead broke, and he would have been a street kid if it weren't for Miss Jiang's support.

As a jobless, forty-year-old virgin soul, Yi Long Fei was happy to comply with her demands. But now he knew that he shouldn't have overperformed, as Miss Jiang had gotten addicted to him.

Jiang Fang noticed his fear as she yawned. She stretched her fare-colored arms above her head.

Her voice was husky, a testament to the fact that it was near her bedtime.

"Although I don't live in the same building as her because she is always having boyfriends over, my mother is rich, not at the level of the principal, but if she takes a liking to you, she might be your sponsor, you know?"

The blondie wasn't shocked to hear that his former sugar mama had a dozen other boyfriends.

There was another reason which caused his eyes to wander across the apartment room with suspicion.

'Now I am sure of it, Jiang Fang didn't buy this apartment and the things in it, nor did her mother. Was it Mo Bing?"

He pushed all thoughts from his mind and smiled. "I understand what you mean, but we shouldn't rush things. Time is the enemy of all living things; we should write our finals first before telling your mother. Just look at what happened between you and Gu Mickey. You had dreams of being together forever, but look at you now."

The girl pulled a face.

'Mickey has no value to me... he is just the ordinary six. Your value only triples his two times, that is why I must have you!'

He ran a comb through his hair and asked a question that had been bothering him, "How was I, compared to him?"

Jiang Fang raised a brow, her face completely perplexed.

"Huh?"

Yi Long Fei's face turned a shade of red as his tone lowered.

"How was I compared to Gu Mickey?"

"!"

Jiang Fang quickly understood what her boyfriend was asking about, and honestly, she didn't have an answer to that.

Mickey was more like a young cub full of vigor who wanted to experiment with a lot of moves while still fresh. On the other hand, Long Fei was like an old lion who liked to take it slow and savor the feeling.

Seeing his girlfriend's deep silence, Yi Long Fei felt troubled in his heart and quickly shrugged the issue off.

"Hehehe, I am just joking, obviously I am the best. Pretend I never asked."

Mo Xie paced around her dimly lit office, the ransom demand echoing in her mind.

90 million essence coins!

It wasn't much. She even offered an additional 10 million essence coins to the person who would find her son.

'I can't give someone who hurts my boy a penny!'

She stopped in front of her desk, staring at the phone that had delivered the devastating news.

The voice of her trembling with fear, echoed in her mind.

"Mom, please save me! He is hurting me! Please make it stop!"

Mo Xie's earlier resolve seemed to waver; her eyes welled up with tears.

She had always protected Mo Bing, shielded him from harm. But now...

A knock on the door broke the silence.

"Enter," Mo Xie called out, composing herself.

Her assistant, Lang Yi, stepped in. "Madam, we've traced the call. It's a secured line, but our team is working on cracking the encryption."

Mo Xie nodded, her mind racing.

"Any updates on the investigation?"

Lang Yi hesitated.

"Nothing concrete yet, but the police are following some leads."

Mo Xie's gaze narrowed.

"I want results, Lang. My son's life depends on it."

Lang Yi bowed.

"We'll do everything possible, Madam."

As Lang Yi left, Mo Xie's eyes fell on a photo of Mo Bing.

Her heart ached.

A call came through on her cell phone.

Kang Yimo scrutinized the crime scene photos. "Anything new, Min Yize?"

Investigator Min Yize, who had survived being buried with the other policemen by a hair's breadth, nodded.

He knew things were tough but didn't want his partner to be forcing herself this much.

He sighed, "Forensics found a peculiar fiber on the G-Wagon's window."

Kang Yimo's eyes narrowed. "Peculiar?"

Min Yize handed her a report. "It's a rare, high-end fabric. Only a few manufacturers produce it."

Kang Yimo's gaze locked onto the report. "Get me the list of manufacturers."

Again, Min Yize sighed, his tone heavy, "It's the plum-nectar perfume that Book Lords use to hide their tracks from others."

Kang Yimo's eyes widened, but a brand-new resolve shone in them. Yes, she wouldn't do much, since Book Lords were allowed to kill mortals.

That being said, she was sure this was the work of a Demonic Book Lord and wasn't going to stop until he was brought down.

...if they don't gather evidence, and prove his identity as a Demonic Book Lord... then, he might cause troubles for them in the near future.

Just then, a junior officer burst in.

"Investigators, we need your attention!"

Kang Yimo raised an eyebrow.

"What is it?"

The officer held up a phone.

"We just got a call from Miss Mo. She said that the kidnapper wants the ransom in the next hour at three drop points!"
