The Chase Through the Forest in Mana Land

He followed the voice's words and stood on his feet in a jiffy. His speed was strange given that he was in tremendous pain and his nerves were currently nonexistent.

The moment that the prince stood up was the time that the hyena's maw came biting down. But it bit nothing, infuriating it more.

The Dream Bison heard the closing of the hyena's maw. And it sensed a foreign aura coming from the prince's direction. It gazed towards the prince but could only catch a glimpse of a red hue fading away from his entire body.

The Dream bison thought, 'He is back on his feet, good. He can buy me some time to finish my homework.'

The voice that spoke to the prince didn't give up after the prince stood up. It continued, saying,

'Open your eyes.'

Zheng was a mess who managed to stand on his feet. His entire body's nerves were still being tortured with pain. He couldn't even marvel at the fact that he managed to stand on his feet.

Meanwhile, the Red-back hyena stared daggers at the young prince. The distance between it and the man was almost negligible. But it didn't attack. It backed away from the prince, expecting an attack.

After some steps, the hyena stopped moving. It was still in attacking range. It took its time to consider its prey. Its instincts were convinced that Zheng's move was just a fluke, and he couldn't harm it.

The voice in Zheng's head kept on urging him, yelling,

'Open your stupid eyes!'

'Open your eyes!'

'Open your stupid eyes and save your miserable life!'

Zheng laboriously opened his eyelids.

"Huh!" he gasped in fright when he saw the hyena.

He was able to overcome the pain and think. Together, his body felt relief. He stopped feeling the overload of mana trying to tear his body apart. Instead, it now felt like a burden that should be dropped at any time.

The hyena took slow, teasing steps towards the man. The prince still stood at his spot, too frightened to move.

Zheng looked in the black bovine's direction, but the beast was not looking his way.

Zheng cried to the Dream bison, "Help me."

The hyena recognised the prince's weakness and tried to pounce on him.

'Move back and then to your left,' the voice in Zheng's head said to him.

Zheng took action accordingly and evaded the hyena's lunge.

'Run!'

Zheng dashed away, and the hyena chased after him.

The prince ran faster than the fastest speed he had ever achieved for the first time at this moment. His legs strangely felt light. He couldn't understand why, but he guessed that it was the reason he was faster than the hyena.

Zheng's guess was correct. He had unintentionally channelled a portion of mana to his legs, which gave him increased pace.

The prince ran out of the glade and into the forest. The hyena followed him in. Zheng was heading to leave the forest from the direction he entered.

Being in the forest gave the hyena a big advantage. It knew the forest like the back of its paws. The trees impeded Zheng's movement, but for the hyena, it was a shortcut for it (the hyena) to go around the prince.

The violent rustling of leaves and occasional snapping of branches forever kept Zheng unsettled. Unfortunately, he couldn't move faster without hurting himself, which would slow him down. He had to go at a reduced pace in order to evade tree trunks.

THUD! The hyena dropped not too far before him from a branch above. It roared and then dashed towards him. Zheng took flight immediately, heading back to the glade.

Along the way, the hyena began to traverse the forest through the trees. It almost paid off, as it almost caught Zheng by surprise again from the front. The young prince went right, evading the hyena and continuing towards the glade. However, when he went right, he saw an unmistakable magic object on the ground—an empty magic orb. He picked it up before dashing away.

With the orb in his hands, he wondered how he was going to find a crystal that he would use to draw runes for the process of trapping the hyena in the orb. He didn't ponder it for long as he returned his focus to escaping the forest.

He thought, 'Hopefully that horny bovine has finished with its stupidity.'

Meanwhile, the bovine wasn't halfway through. The cow on the receiving end now had a brain that was scrambled by pleasurable sensations. The cow's gaze was so empty that it could be likened to that of a person who was high on drugs.

Minutes later, the prince ran into the glade. Unfortunately, he didn't see a partially exposed root in his path. He tripped on the root, wrecking his right leg's ankle in the process, before falling to the ground. He shrieked in pain, clutching the injured ankle with both hands while rolling.

Zheng remembered he had someone who could help. He raised his head to find the Dream bison but was disappointed to see the bovine still humping. He was desperate, so he yelled at the black bovine,

"Dream bison, help me!"

The Dream flinched when it heard the prince's voice, but it didn't stop thrusting. It thought,

'What in the world! That guy is back, and I'm not yet finished.'

The beast bellowed at the prince, but he couldn't understand what the beast was trying to say. If he could, he would understand that the beast said,

"Hang on, man. Just give me a couple of minutes, and I will be done with this."

Zheng didn't need to understand the bovine's words. He understood that he wouldn't receive help because the bovine hadn't stopped pounding. He was sad; his mind felt weak from the disappointment, but nevertheless, he was angry.

The steady rustling of leaves and the nearing, loud growls from within the forest announced the coming of the hyena.
