Short story 3: The Illusion of time: Part 1

Even though this dream started like any other it is hard to explain because I don't remember much of what happened just the feeling of fear and unease washing over my senses but, here I go.

I woke up in the middle of the quiet night to get a glass of water and as I did, I think to myself "why is it so cold my a/c is off?" So, I went to check the temperature outside and, since I didn't have my phone, I go over to my window to touch the glass, as it's a way to estimate the temperature outside, as I opened the curtains, I saw a parking lot with 4-5 cars and a road just a little pass that, trees bright with leaves separating the two, and a neighborhood full of cookie cutter houses right across that road, "man this place really feels like a barren wasteland," I say touching the windowpane with the palm of my hand to get an estimate of the temperature outside, when I touched the window none to my surprise, it felt as if it was ice "yep, figured as much, I wonder if it's going to snow?" I ask with curiosity, knowing full well that it hardly snows in Texas, even in winter, but then, I thought my ears started ringing, which happens every once in a while, so I thought nothing of it until, it started getting louder and louder and even louder, so loud in fact it became a screeching noise, like the sound of sharp nails on a chalk board, causing my body to vibrate on the same frequency, "what is this noise? Where is it coming from?" I ask feeling as though my ears are about to burst, then it stopped, although, that wasn't the end of it.

After my ears stopped ringing, I heard knocking at my window and, feeling anxious of the fact that it was past midnight I grabbed a knife from my kitchen, just to be safe, and headed towards the window. Before I opened the curtain, I asked the visitor, "who is it?" There was no reply, so I opened the curtain in hopes to scare the visitor off but when I did, I saw horror, I didn't understand what it was nor, what it wanted, but whatever I saw is almost indescribable, like something out of your worst and best nightmare.

The best way to describe this thing is to start off by saying, this thing looked like it was made of black holes, when you see or hear about what a black hole is and yes, I'm talking about the black holes mentioned in science they warp space and time, and nothing can escape them as far we humans know, and that's exactly what this thing looked it was doing, but wasn't destroying anything like it was controlling space and time itself, as soon as I caught a glimpse of this creature I froze in fear and fascination as a man who loves science I couldn't help but stare and try to wrap my head around it, then to my surprise it spoke, "what do you seek?"
