With her head tucked into his arm, Thea lay peacefully without worry. Sleep was something she didn't seem to allow herself. The disappearance of her family members destroyed her, she filled her life with partying and substance abuse. A world without them had broke everything, but ever since the truth had been brought to her attention, she felt just a little more stable.
She still found that the loss of her father still dragged her down. She still wanted to fill the void which she thought would be fixed.
Losing people never got easier, no matter how much you try to separate yourself from them and sentiment. Even someone you knew for a few hours, could affect you a lot once they were gone. It only takes a few minutes to make a friend, and it only takes a few seconds for someone you'd designate as a friend to die.
The world was a lonely place, everyone was going to die one day and never all at the same time, suffering loss was a part of life that not everyone could bare.
Caden rested on his side, caressing her shoulder with his free arm as her arms were loosely against his chest. He couldn't help but smile seeing her drooling unconscious sleeping face.
Every subconscious whine made him want to give her a gentle kiss and a tighter embrace. Yet he didn't want to wake her, he didn't want to spoil the moment. He didn't need to sleep, but he could definitely use it at some point. Dreams were what kept people going, even if they were already living it, fantasies were everything to some people.
In his previous life he had a hard time sleeping with other people in the same bed. It was mainly because he was always warm and being with another person made him uncomfortable.
Caden was never a person for the heat unless it was a hot shower. He loved the cold weather, especially the snow. Even though he arrived near the threshold of winter and spring, he would forever miss the snow of the East Coast where he grew up.
As his eyes trailed from her face, down to her black unlined cat patterned lace camisole and plain white panties, his eyes rested on her feet. They were so small compared to his, as he was as size thirteen wide in the United State's foot measurement system. "Fun-sized..." He whispered under his breath, though he swore he could hear her giggling beneath her breath.
He brought his index finger to her lower lip and gently traced it with the edge if his fingernail. Her lips were smooth, unchapped and delicate.
When he had first came across her, or she came across him at the graves of her prominent immediate family members, she needed direction. Her hygiene had appeared to lack, and she was into drugs. Though he was driving her insane by getting in the way of her bad habits, it appeared as if she was now clinging to him.
Caden lulled his head into the pillow by his head and watched her for a few moments as he continued to caress her lower lip with his finger. Only for there to be a sudden shift in her legs.
He tensed up slightly as he felt her knee enter between his own legs. Opening his mouth slightly, he felt as her leg began to move up and down his inner thigh. Narrowly missing kneeing him in the gonads, Caden couldn't help but shutter at the feeling.
Then he paused when he heard a voice from directly above him. His eyes glanced over at the clock in the corner of the room on the dresser. It was one in the morning and someone appeared to be on the phone.
They were speaking loudly, it kind of reminded him of his mother from when he was little. Everyone in the house would be silent, and then all you would hear is his mother talking loudly as if the person on the other side couldn't hear them.
Yet the voice he heard above, was a familiar one. It was none other than Isabel Rochev, later known as the Ravager. Since Oliver hadn't been announced alive as of yet, he was pretty sure she wasn't working with Slade as of yet.
Pursing his lips slightly, he looked up at the ceiling. He had various choices of action to choose from. He could kill her, he could mind wipe her, or various other approaches.
While there were many immoral and deprived ideas in his head, he didn't focus on them. They weren't who he was. Actions define a character, and actions are generally based on one's morals and feelings in the moment. The Ravager was a manifestation of meaningless and immoral action based on revenge.
However he had until twenty twelve to do something. This complex seems to have many people who stay the long term. Some people even treated these rooms as penthouses and actually bought the individual space.
He wasn't surprised Isabel Rochev had gotten an apartment here as she was the Vice President of Acquisitions at another company in Star City. Though she was also seemingly helping with the Undertaking thanks to her vendetta against the Queen family, mostly the late Robert Queen.
Caden didn't quite understand the need for revenge, even though when a chance to get it was given to him, he took it without much hesitation. However he couldn't help but think he killed the person who murdered his counterpart in this reality, ws because he was about to attack Thea.
About two hours later, without any other light in the room. Thea opened her eyes and almost jumped as she saw his glowing eyes close to her face. The muscles of her entire lower body and abdomen tensed up, she was giving it her all not to fling herself backward off the side of the waterbed.
It felt as if her hair on the back of her neck had stood on end. "Were-Were you not sleeping?" Thea's voice leaked out from her lips subtly like sticky honey.
Caden snickered as she asked the question and he shook his head slightly, the only reason she could tell he shook his head was because of his eyes. It was like he was a wolf creeping in the dark, with gold glowing eyes. Though in this case his eyes were still the arctic blue with a strange misty steam-like particle effect.
"So you..." She squinted her eyes and pouted, as if glaring at him. "You were watching me sleep the entire time?" Thea reached up and pinched his cheek before moving on top of him.
Caden almost immediately squeaked, though not because she was on top of him, but because the initial move dug her knee right into his testis. Though he was a dragon and in this form extremely dense compared to all other organic life on the planet, the pressure was still rather unwelcoming to the sack!
A smug look appeared across her face as she looked down, moving her legs so she was now in a straddling position over his abdomen. Her eyes appeared half awake however as she was doing this.
"What else was I supposed to do?" Caden smiled awkwardly up at her as she planted her hands down on his shoulders, causing the two to sink into the malleable surface of the bed.
She shook her head slightly, "Sleep?" Thea retorted to the question as if he should have known it. "Though I am curious..." She moved one of her hands slowly down on his right arm, picking it up by the wrist and placing his hand under her shoulder.
Caden blinked a few times as his thumb softly stroked against the area beside the gape of her armpit. He found himself staring up at her as she leaned down and kissed him. Her movements were tender, though it was clear she was in control. Her arms was clamped down on his hand, while with his strength he could move it, it was likely he would end up hurting her in the process.
He smirked quietly into the kisses that she planted on his lips, kissing her in return, passionately.
When she finally stopped kissing him, she leaned back up and stared down at him. "My friends say it's weird that we can cuddle all the time, yet not have sex."
"It hurts you, more than it hurts me. Plus..." He glanced down at himself, but her pelvis was clearly in the way. "Snakes have two."
Thea just sat there and stared down at him, the muscles in her shoulders becoming reposed, allowing his hand to freely roam down to her hip. "Eh?" Her jaw seemed to drop, before she looked down over her shoulder at his boxer briefs. "Two?" She immediately without shame, recklessly pulled aside the flap and glared as if she could see.
The pair in his boxers felt like a fork in the road, splitting in two after about an inch down the trunk. Like a tree with a split trunk. She could only stare at it for a few seconds before looking over at Caden who was just looking at her with a dull expression.
"You're not joking," was the only thing Thea said as her face was heating up due to what she had just done.
He shrugged slightly, "Some species, particularly those of legged Lizards, have spikey ones." Caden grinned slightly when she had said this, though this case was also the same with cats in a sense.
Thea winced at the thought of having something sharp being put into her. "And here they made movies about a girl with teeth in her vagina... Even folk tales," at the mention of this, even Caden grimaced at the thought of teeth dismembering nether regions.
"You want to go back to sleep?" Caden asked as if he was telling her that she should go back to sleep, as he didn't want to think about this anymore.
Thea, seeing through what he was implying, simply resumed with her smug look. "Nah, too wide awake now." She said as she leaned down a bit, nipping his lower lip and pulling at it with her own.
Caden sighed quietly causing him to end up blowing harmless lukewarm fire in her face.
Thea froze in that moment when the fire did nothing to her, though it smelled a bit minty. "Did you just blow fire in my face?" She said as she bounced on his stomach, promoting fierce ripples and waves on the bed.
Rolling his eyes, he would sit up, setting her right into his lap.
"Quite possibly, got a problem with it?" He asked as he stuck out his tongue teasingly.
Pinching the tips of his forked tongue, she turned her head sternly, stabbing him with her eyes. "I'll kick your arse if you messed up the ends of my hair!"
"I mean... We could go out to get a haircut tomor... Later today." He snickered with his tongue still being held outside of his mouth. "Or not."
Thea laughed hearing him trying to talk, only to pause as she heard whomever was upstairs stomp on the ground. They both looked up and then glanced at one another with their brows raised.
"Sounds like someone else can't sleep," Caden remarked as he played with the rim of her lace camisole with his left hand. "Let's get something to drink and then go back to sleep," he suggested as there were times when he needed to drink or eat something to feel well enough to go to bed.
"Well... What do you have?" Thea said as she yawned slightly, she didn't feel like getting out of the bed to get something to drink.
"Hm... Water," Since he hadn't gone shopping and this was the first time he had even been in the flat, there was almost nothing here except for non perishable canned and boxed foods.
Thea groaned slightly and flopped to the side, essentially bringing him with her as she hooked an arm around his neck. As he laid there on the waterbed, he stared at her tired face as she smiled at him. "Guess I'll go back to sleep... Water's boring." With that she pulled the side of his head into her chest, and held it there, though quickly fell to sleep again allowing her arms to loosen.
Listening to her heartbeat like he had done plenty of times before, his eyes began to become heavy. He felt safe in her arms though barely anything could essentially harm him on the mortal scale.
All his worries melted away as he began to drift to sleep.
