When Moira Queen and Walter Steele returned from a board meeting a Queen Consolidated, they quickly came across their new guests. Thea explained to them that they were Caden's old neighbors and that they were moving back to Japan and needed a place to stay for a few nights. At first this was met by adversity, Moira was initially completely against it until Walter upright talked her into allowing it to happen.
This was the first time that Thea had been thinking like a thoughtful person and not herself, at least from what he could see based on her recent behavior. What she had chosen to do was selfless, giving shelter to someone who had none.
Plus it wasn't safe for them in the Glades should they go on alone. Even though both Thea and Caden both knew Tatsu could hold her own against just about anyone low enough to try and mug them.
Overall this was a quick fix for a temporary problem. Maseo would be likely to return to Japan, and they'd meet up. That or he would go to Japan and come to the United States. Though there was also the possibility that Thea may talk her parents into letting them use the private jet to get to Japan without needing to book a flight.
That was one of the perks of being extremely wealthy. On top of that it was one of the things that Oliver Queen offered to use to ferry them from Japan to America, vice versa, during their conversations.
To Akio this was a dream come true. Though he had some problems accepting his father didn't come with, he quickly adapted. He'd spend most of his time playing with Thea and Caden for the following days which became weeks.
Caden during these weeks continued his training under Damien Darhk, having lost Tatsu several times when she had tried to tail him and see where he was going every other day.
He found it annoying, though he could only figure that it was natural to see where a Dragon went when they weren't at the Queen estate. She always found her way back and when he asked her about her following him, she always denied it. Part of him thought it was rather cute, how she denied her stalking, but also found it rather stifling that she always kept her eyes on him.
Eventually he introduced Akio to Nora Darhk, making the two of them friends, something that Nora seemed to lack in quantity as well as quality. This went on for a while, their interactions growing over the days that past them by like they were any other.
While Damien never met Akio's parents, he was still incredibly happy with the revelation that his daughter finally had a friend.
What had been days, had turned into weeks, which turned into months. Maseo didn't come home right away. The crisis in China ended, the Alpha Omega bio weapon virus had been destroyed, there were no further outbreaks.
It was late May when Maseo finally came to the front doors of the Queen Mansion. He came with his sons and wife's passports.
So before Maseo and his family left, Akio gave Damien's daughter Nora his email address, officially making them penpals before the former left for Japan with his family. Akio and Nora's worlds were both growing in size to the point that Starling City, Hong Kong and Tokyo were just pins on a map.
...
June tenth, two thousand ten, was hailed by the sounds of shouting and machine gun fire.
Caden with Damien Darhk by his side were storming the front gates of the Bertinelli household. Damien wanted to see the boy kill for the first time with the skills he acquired, and to learn more about his powers. With a dragon by his side, he wanted to study as much as he could. Maybe one day, he would find a chink in his armor and he will be known as Damien Darhk the Dragon Slayer.
"Get Mister Bertinelli in side!" One of the men shouted as he was firing his automatic rifle, propped up against a tree.
Two of the men were escorting a man in an italian suit towards the mansion up the long drive way. "Move move move! Keep your head down!" A stray bullet took off the man's hat, leaving a blatant strip of blood through the scalp, a flesh wound.
"Mister Bertinelli, are you okay!?" The mobster asked the head of the Bertinelli, a man who was ducking down behind a rock after his hat had been taken from him.
Bertinelli roared back, "Kill them already!" He said as he pointed in the direction of the two figures. This was a direct attack, Damien was legitimately using the Dragon boy as a meat shield by standing behind him, casually dodging bullets while he was at it.
Caden easily disarmed one of the men, bending the weapon he was using point blank and beating him down with it.
Damien could easily take note of the boy's physical prowess, though he didn't seem to be using any of his magic during this time. He was rather curious as to why he wasn't, though it seemed it was because he didn't have to?
Caden used the body language of those around him to assume where they were going to fire next. He zig zagged towards people, avoiding bullets even though he didn't have to, and then jumped kick men to the ground. Each kick was lethally placed, he was killing people without hesitation.
Damien was taking pleasure in seeing the people in fear, panic and pain.
Even Caden seemed to chuckle a bit as he was enjoying the action. It was almost like playing a first person action game, but he felt everything physically. He felt his fists come in contact with a mans skull, he felt it breaking beneath the flesh and skin.
The entire front lawn was covered in blood in a matter of several minutes. The police were lining up outside. The onslaught from outside looked insane. They couldn't capture the face of the perpetrator due to the fact that he was wearing a glamorized replica of the Red Hood's armored outfit from the DC comics.
Damien Darhk on the other hand was wearing a cloak to keep himself from being identified, though the cape extension was riddled with holes from bullets.
Caden kicked in the front doors of the mansion, the two guys left were in waiting on either side. The moment they turned and opened fire, the bullets stopped just centimeters from Caden's face, before going right back into the barrels of the guns.
The guns exploded in the men's hands, causing them to wail and fall to their knees in pain. He quickly smashed both of their heads together, killing them instantly by sending the cartilage of their noses into their brains.
Letting out a sigh, he looked over at the man standing in the center of the living room, his hands behind his head and he was on his knees. It was a gesture of surrender.
"How cute..." Damien Darhk chuckled seeing the man shaking.
"Do whatever you want with me, just don't touch my daughter!" Frank Bertinelli cried out, he had a piece taped to the back of his coat. He could reach for it anytime and fire at them when they got close enough. Though it was frankly, suicide, if he tried.
Caden held out a hand and the gun was torn from his back and flew right to his hand, which held then held by the barrel. His eyes danced over to a twenty one year old Helena Bertinelli who was slowly making her way down the steps. A small smile crept over his lips as he saw her.
"Honey, go back up stairs!" Frank said as Caden stood a few feet away from him with a gun pointed at his head.
Helena just raised a brow however as she watched Caden hold the gun out to her by the barrel, with the handle out for her to take. Her eyes moved over to her father who was cowering, even pissing himself. She always knew him to be a coward and a stern man, who would eliminate anyone whom he believed stood against him.
She wore a slim black dress with a dual slitted skirt, it appeared as if she had been in the middle of applying makeup.
Damien saw what he was doing and raised a brow, rather intrigued.
"He killed your Fiance, didn't he?" Caden asked as he tilted his head to the side slightly as the Red Hood mask augmented his voice to the point that it was unrecognizable. "After YOU failed to put your father away and poor Michael died in your place."
Helena with lightning stride came over and snatched the weapon from Caden's hand. She eyed the piece, it was a revolver, her father's own personal weapon from his collection.
"Hun..." The father was heartbroken seeing his only daughter turn the gun to him, the barrel pressed against his forehead. "How could you...?"
Caden looked at her as she was hesitating to pull the trigger. The opportunity for revenge was right there, vengeance was hers. All she had to do was take it! "You are under duress, if you don't kill him, you will die alongside him. Avenge poor Michael, Helena."
KABANG!
Frank Bertinelli's body dropped to the floor, half of his head blown clean off. Blood, grey matter and skull fragments were everywhere. Helena stood there with a gun, aiming at an empty space.
She had killed her father and with this person having wiped out the majority of the main family, the criminal Empire was in shambles. She smiled widely, wildly, before looking over at Caden. For the first few seconds, she felt amazing, but then sentiment began to drive its way into her head. She felt lonely, there was nothing for her here anymore.
Helena stared blankly at Caden, she was no longer smiling. "You made me kill my father!" Her eyes seemed to psychotically drill into him, trying to pierce the mask with just her eyes alone. Then she went to put the gun to his head.
KAPOW!
Blood splashed on the young man's face mask, a smoking gun aiming forward past his head. Damien Darhk had shot Helena in the gut and she collapsed to the ground in shock a few seconds later.
Caden snapped his fingers loudly and Damien suddenly vanished into thin air, likely back to his home where Nora and his wife were currently. He stared down at the young Helena, she was a sociopath that he had incited just moments ago.
Helena was holding the entry wound in her gut, blood leaving her mouth as she was beginning to spasm a bit. Though her face was contorted in thought and pain, she didn't understand what she just saw.
Caden would kneel down beside her, gently putting two fingers under her chin. "You have two choices. You can die here, or you can forget everything except for your academic knowledge. What will it be?"
At this moment, he could hear her thoughts, her response. What was the difference between this and death itself? "Life of course," was his only response as he stood up and looked down at the woman who murdered her own father because she wanted to, only to realize it was a mistake right afterward.
Before she could give her final answer, her eyes became still and her breathing soon ceased. Within seconds, her heartbeat was no more. He let her head rest on the ground, snapping his fingers again; disappearing from the scene.
