Ralph courting death.

As Ralph's grin widened at Rosey, Theovin's stare grew steely with contempt.

He imagined the satisfying thud of Ralph hitting the pavement outside the moving car, his body tumbling and rolling on the asphalt like a discarded ragdoll.

The thought made Theovin's fingers twitch with anticipation, but he clenched them into a tight fist, resisting the urge to act on his violent impulse.

Theovin's mind reeled with fury at the sight of Ralph and Rosey's easy rapport.

'How dare he make a move on my mate!' Theovin seethed inwardly, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

As Ralph continued to smile at Rosey, Theovin scooted closer to Rosey, his gaze fixed hard on Ralph.

"You got it all wrong," Theovin growled, his possessiveness seeping into his voice.

"The universe has nothing to do with it. So go find someone else to be friends with." Theovin's tone was cold and sharp, like a knife cutting through the air.

Rosey just kept staring between the two arguing men. It appeared to her that they were very close and the brown-headed man was trying to get a rise out of the blue-headed large man and he was falling right into it.

Ralph's grin widened as he turned to Theovin, his tone dripping with smug satisfaction.

"Hey, Theovin, it seems the pretty human likes me," he taunted, relishing the look of distress on Theovin's face.

"Can you blame her? I mean, look at me." Ralph continued.

The tension in the car broke as Rosey started chuckling, her laughter ringing through the air.

Theovin and Ralph both turned to stare at her, caught off guard by the sudden change in mood.

For a moment, they were both at a loss for words, their argument forgotten as they watched Rosey's infectious smile light up her face.

Ralph's eyes sparkled with triumph as he turned to Theovin, his grin spreading from ear to ear.

"You see, Theovin? She likes me!" he exclaimed, his voice booming with unmistakable glee.

Theovin snarled, his bared teeth revealing two white fangs, as he warned Ralph "She cannot like you, Ralph, so get that thought out of your mind."

Theovin was growing increasingly frustrated with Ralph as they drove down the winding road.

"And watch the fucking road!" Theovin snapped, baring two white fangs as he glared at the distracted driver.

All Theovin wanted was to toss Ralph back to Ulrific at that moment.

He couldn't figure why he had agreed to bring this annoyance of a person along on the journey.

Sensing the tension, Ralph attempted to lighten the atmosphere. "Okay, okay, what a joy killer you are," he remarked in a jovial tone.

Just then, without warning, the car engine sputtered and died.

The vehicle coasted to a stop, leaving Ralph perplexed and wondering what was going on.

"What do you think you are doing, Ralph? Stopping the car in the middle of the road?" Theovin asked quizzically.

"I didn't do anything!" Ralph protested, his hands waving in a gesture of confusion.

"You didn't do anything and the car just suddenly stopped?" Theovin asked him in disbelief.

"I think something's wrong with the car," Ralph said, his forehead creasing with worry as he swung open the door and hopped out onto the gravel driveway.

"It's not like he knows what he is examining for," Theovin said and was about to go down and join Ralph when Ralph opened the car door again.

"I think I would have to open the bonnet from inside the driver's pit,"

Ralph said, his brow furrowed in concentration as he crouched down to examine the latch beneath the steering wheel.

His fingers danced over the metal surface, searching for the right grip, until he finally found it and gave a quick tug.

With a metallic creak, the hood popped open, revealing the engine block beneath.

Theovin just shook his head at Ralph. he turned to face Rosey, his expression softening as he gazed at her.

"I will be back soon, I want to check what is going on with the car as Ralph is not someone reliable. Okay,"

Theovin said as he tried to paint Ralph as black as he could, so Rosey wouldn't like him anymore.

Rosey didn't dwell on Theovin's comment about Ralph, but she couldn't help but wonder why he felt the need to explain himself to her.

Despite her curiosity, Rosey opted for a small nod in response to Theovin's smile.

As he pushed open the car door open on his side, Just then, Ralph's voice rang out again, his tone echoing with frustration as he diagnosed the problem.

"Hey Theovin, I think the issue could be the energy thing...yeah fuel, it's finished.

The red light on the dashboard has been on since I got the car," Ralph said, scrutinizing the red blinking light on the dashboard.

"Where did you get the car?" Theovin asked him.

"I met the previous owner who, after some polite negotiation, gave me permission to use the car.

He may have been swayed by my charming looks," Ralph explained, trying to sound innocent.

He was met with disbelief as two pairs of eyes stared at him, causing him to elaborate on his previous statement.

Ralph's voice rose, as he attempted to justify himself, "I need you to understand that I did not beat him up and take it by force. That's not who I am."

"So, let me get this straight," Theovin's voice boomed, making sure that Rosey could hear every word, "You stole a car from a defenseless human?"

Ralph's face twisted with a frown, sensing what Theovin was trying to do, he retorted,

"No, you asked me to get a car, remember? And where exactly did you expect me to find one in the middle of the night?"

"You're trying to blame me now?" Theovin stated in a deadpan tone.

"And to top it off, you couldn't even manage to get a decent car. I mean, you borrowed a car that didn't even have fuel, Ralph."

"I don't know what I am supposed to do with you," Theovin's disappointment was palpable as he turned to Rosey, taking in her current state.

He knew that she would not be able to handle the harsh wind if he decided to fly with her.

"Why did we even have to take a car in the first place?" Ralph complained, turning to Theovin. "We could have just flown or ran, you know."

As Ralph's words settled in, Theovin took a moment to consider them. For once, Ralph seemed to have a point.

Running would allow him to control his speed and keep the cold from overwhelming Rosey, unlike flying in the frigid sky.

Ignoring Ralph, Theovin stepped out of the car and walked to the boot. With a determined look on his face, he popped it open.

He rummaged through the contents of the boot, hoping to find something that could help him cover his mate.

Alas, his search was in vain as there was nothing that could be used for the purpose.

With a loud thud, he closed the boot in frustration. There was nothing suitable for him to use there.

He tapped his fingers on his jaw, deep in thought, before turning to face Ralph.

"On your way back, did you happen to notice a convenience store nearby?" Theovin asked Ralph.

"Well, I don't think I saw any convenience store around here, but I did notice a clubhouse a few kilometers away," replied Ralph after pondering for a moment.

"We need a blanket, so we'll stop at this clubhouse," Theovin announced as he opened the car door and assisted Rosey out.

Theovin only snapped out of his thoughts when he felt Rosey struggling in his hold. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking," he apologized.

His grip on her hand was so tight that it caused her to wince in pain.
