"Ra? Did Warrior Krom just call that boy Zekith Ra?" Audible gasps could be heard from some of the kids within the group.
"No wonder he's so strong. It turns out that he's from the Ra family." Another kid admired.
Kinta, whom already got himself up was shocked. "Damn, I can't believe it. He's from the Ra family?" He shook his head in dejection. "Who would've thought that this kids background was so deep." A cold chill suddenly ran down his spine. Noticing eyes on him he turned toward its source. Those eyes belonged to Zekith, who happened to be heading his direction. Apparently he was done with his talk with Warrior Krom.
Kinta's face visibly paled even more than it had before. His eyes like saucers as he looked at this approaching young man. Zekith seemed to either not notice or he just didn't care about the looks he was receiving from the crowd as he continued to walk. His pace was neither fast nor slow as he approached Kinta. Zekith came to a stop. A mere three meters from him. Even a person at the Worm level could attack with full force from about ten feet away. The tension in the air was palpable as the crowd watched in deathly silence. Kinta got into a defensive position. While some felt sorry for him others sneered and welcomed his misfortune.
Kinta could feel a deadly crisis approaching as he stared at Zekith. It was a suffocating pressure that was deep rooted. Making him feel like the weight of a mountain was pressing down onto his chest. Zekith hadn't said anything or even made a move against him. He simply stood in front of Kinta causing him to feel utterly petrified.
Before Zekith could speak Kinta stuttered. "Ya -Young Patriarch, this one is truly sorry for my actions earlier. If this one would've known who you were. There's no way this one would've ever challenged you." He spoke with the 'appropriate' address which was supposed to be extremely respectful.
However, upon hearing Kinta speak Zekith frowned a little. He looked away from Kinta for a moment. Then he turned his face to look at Kinta once more before speaking. "Big brother Kinta, may I ask you a question?"
When he heard Zekith call him big brother. A sense of relief immediately washed over Kinta's body as he answered. "Ask away!" A smile began to show on his face. Even though he was clearly nervous.
"If you were in my shoes... Would you want to be treated like everyone else or be isolated but revered? Now with that in mind... Why do you think I kept my name to myself?" Zekith's voice was smooth and mellow but there was a slight raspy.
The light of comprehension donned on some of the kids faces. Kinta was naturally one of them. But, none the less a short pause occurred before his eyes glittered with full understanding before he answered. "Obviously, if I were the young Patriarch, I would wish to be treated equally just like everyone else."
Zekith smiled amiably and nodded his head in agreement and satisfaction to Kinta's words. Everyone there could feel their hearts thump as a gentle warmth spread through their limbs. The young patriarch's smile instantly caused the surrounding kids to like him more. They all now wanted to form deeper connections with him as the all gathered and chatted.
A little while later when things had settled down and people where heading home. Kinta was about to leave going to the library as Krom had ordered for the night when he noticed Zekith in a corner sitting dutifully observing the crowd. There eyes locked and he smiled then he turned his gaze to something else. Kinta once again stared at Zekith as he thought. "This kid is a little different compared to the rest of us..."
Meanwhile Zekith was thinking the same thing. "There's something a little different about Kinta."
It was evening now and everything had settled down. Zekith was headed to the Ra Manor. Which was situated in the northern section of Ra village. The compound was a fair seize. It was built in a simple rectangular shape at 100 yards wide and 500 yards long. Upon entering the main gate you would be greeted with a lush and fragrant garden. Albeit it was a bit over grown, but, the pale blue light of the moon and evening stars softly illuminating the surroundings caused ones breath to almost disappear from the eerie beauty. The vision of this garden was truly quite enchanting.
The path through the garden was made from fine sapphire quartz. It gave off a faint azure light which gently pulsated. Although it was worn from use and weathered from age. The underlining quality was very apparent.
Zekith followed the path quietly. The sound of his measured footsteps softly echoed throughout the garden. Clack, clack, clack... Soon a fountain came into view that was circular in shape standing about 20 feet from ground above the fountain. The aura it gave of was ancient and kind of eerie. The fountain was a depiction of a Dragon and a man in a yin yang formation as if they were one and the same. They seemed to be merging into one another. This fountains visualization was startling to behold. Yet, something about the statues was making Zekith's mind reel. Stopping him in his tracks. He shook his head but this only made his more dizzy. His vision was really spinning causing him to shut his eyes and sit down crossed legged in concentration.
A wind gently blew its way through the garden carrying with it a strangely playful aroma of flowers and medicinal herbs. The fountain seemed to react causing a stream of energy to flow from the fountain and toward Zekith. As it engulfed him surrounding and then burrowing into his skin.
This caused Zekith's eyes to snap open abruptly. Stirred back to consciousness. His eyes now glittered with mostly red and gold light. "What the hell was that strange feeling. It was weird but...somehow familar." confusion on his face.
Zekith stood up but didn't move. He was still thinking about that strangely familiar feeling. However, after a few minutes he was still unable to find any understanding from that experience. He felt different but couldn't explain how. Thus, he decided to not think about it any longer. At this point Zekith looked toward the still distant estate and proceeded onward along the path. Soon he exited the garden.
Within a room that looked like a study a woman was seated at a desk surrounded by books. All of which were old and some were even ancient. Glowing runes covered these books that were radiating with powerful auras as they lined the walls.
The Matriarch was watching the progress of Zekith very closely. This was done through the use of a scrying bowl that was placed on her desk. This bowl was a treasure of the Ra family passed down for the last 5000 years.
It works by connecting a series of seven branch formations to a root formation that was placed within the center of the bowl. Once Water elemental energy was used on this mechanism. One would be able use this device with the purpose of surveillance using anyone of the formations it was connected too. As long as their body energy reached a certain threshold one would be able to use the scrying ability. But, they will has a very limited access to the further more complicated abilities of scrying bowl. This was how the current Matriarch was able to use three formations of the scrying bowl. Even with the limited access to the vast array of formations. She still had access to quite a few abilities from the formations within a certain distance with no extra energy consumption.
With three of the seven formation under her control she was able to see a distance of a few thousands miles. So, obviously she could see the entirety of Ra Manor plus a fair distance beyond. Were within the range of the Matriarch's abilities. Thus she was able to see everything that was happening to Zekith.
When she saw him reach the Fountain of Souls the Matriarch's beautiful brown face paled as watched what happened. She looked pensively at the scrying bowl. It was clear that she was worried about the outcome and it was written all over her face. This seemed to be an extremely important matter to her and the Ra family.
