Chapter 4

Kyrax was in his human form, following Norro, who had a hat covering his ears, through the gates of the Re-estize Kingdom. They turned down a dark alley and went deeper and deeper, and when they turned a corner, there was a soldier, tied up and terrified next to an elf and a wolf.

At their entrance, the elf and wolf turned and bowed their heads deeply, "My lord," they murmured.

Kyrax nodded at them and went up to observe the human who could have information on his brother. The human's eyes were wide and he had gaping wounds, most likely from torture.

On his arrival, the human had started to relax, probably assuming the teenager he looked like wouldn't have the stomach for torture. That wouldn't do.

Kyrax strode up to him, allowing his wings, tail, and horns to sprout as he shifted back to his bipedal draconic form. He surged forward and grabbed the human's squishy face in his claws.

"Tell me everything," he hissed softly, tightening his grip and drawing blood.

"W-we were s-sent out t-to defend the v-vilages from s-some knights who w-were attacking th-them," the human stuttered pathetically, "B-but when w-we got th-there, they w-were al-ready saved by a s-sorcerer. Th-then we were attacked b-by the S-slane Th-theocracy and the w-warrior captain was saved by the s-sorcerer and he demolished them."

Kyrax released the human and stepped back, considering. If there was even the slightest chance it was his brother, he'd risk it. The name Ainz Ooal Gown was known throughout Yggdrasil so it might not be his brother, but it was definitely a player. He'd need to be careful.

Kyrax nodded decisively and turned to Norro, "Kill him," he said, ignoring the human's squeak of fear, "then meet me in the throne room back in Tyrathar."

"My lord," Norro replied with a bow.

Kyrax opened his palm and summoned a portal, striding through to the other side. He slumped in the obsidian throne and messaged all his floor guardians. He rested his head on his hands as he waited for all of their arrivals.

As the throne room was on the seventh floor, it was no wonder that Voraket was the first one to arrive, lumbering in and standing respectfully in front of him. He was followed by Avirus, Byrar, Fenrir, Morken, and finally Norro.

They all bowed to him and waited for him to speak, which he did, "I have gotten information on the possible location of my brother, and so I have decided to visit the village he saved. I will take Norro and Fenrir with me as they can blend in the best and the rest of you, heighten the defenses of Tyrathar and make sure messaging scrolls are available in case of an emergency."

"Lord!" they all said, bowing their heads. Kyrax nodded and pushed off his throne, "Norro and Fenrir, meet me on the surface of Tyrathar after I get equipment for my human form." They both saluted and he disappeared in a portal to the armory.

Kyrax morphed into his human form and picked out an obsidian black chest piece, arm guards, and leg guards and strapped them on along with a silver sword at his side and a black cloak wrapped around him.

With that done, Kyrax portaled to the surface where Fenrir and Norro were waiting. Without a word, Kyrax joined them and Norro opened a portal to the location north of the village that he had gotten from the human.

Norro had hidden his ears and Fenrir had turned his fur a boring brown color and the three of them stepped through the portal.

They emerged on the other side to leagues of forest and the sight of the small village to the south of them. Kyrax led them to the gates of the village where they were held at spear point by goblins. Curious. Goblins working for humans.

A blonde girl soon greeted them, smiling nervously at the sight of Fenrir. Hm. Perhaps it was a bad idea to bring him.

"Hello, what can we do for you," she asked politely.

"I was wondering if you know of the sorcerer, Ainz Ooal Gown?" her face immediately darkened. She knew of him.

"Why do you ask?" she inquired suspiciously.

"I have something to tell him."

"Oh, and what's that?"a deep voice behind them asked. All of them turned and saw a human on a wagon surrounded by six humans.

Except, his eyes zeroed in on one of them and his eyes widened, "Narberal Gamma?" he breathed out in disbelief.

And with that, he immediately drew everyone's undivided attention.
