Draconic Evolution

A vulcanian from the star trek universe exhales his last breath in a fight to the death. This logical and pragmatical individual will find himself reborn in a world of sword and magic. An hostile new environment heavily inspired from the monster hunter universe. Fighting legendary creatures, and relying on the most illogical of things, such as magic, the mc will try to protect his loved ones in this new life of his. (As magic is a really broad term, there will be various magical elements and not only the magical weapons from monster hunter) The plot of the story is completely created by my own imagination. Don't expect this to follow the canonical fight of the game either. The story is taking place in the real world, monsters won't have a simple hp bar and MC neither. As such consider this work as a complete AU. Chapter lenght: around 1000/1200 words. --> I don't own the cover, the right are copletely of the artist. If you want me to change it, just write it and it will be done. Feel free to point out any possible mistake or expression your opinions. *I don't own any material coming both from the monster hunter or star trek universe*

[The freak]

Yes, indeed, his mother had called him Severus. Spookie had remained quite speechless in learning it. Yet he understood the motive behind such ridiculous name, as this human body had been influenced by his katra, his very spirit.

Even if he had not been really conscious of his actions in his first year of life, they had been affected by him nonetheless.

After his birth he had not cried one bit, he didn't laugh or scream either. He had just peacefully stood there, in his crib; only moving if it was time to get fed. As such his mother had been deeply worried, she even called for a doctor. However Severus resulted as healthy as a normal human baby should be. He clearly stated that her baby abnormal behavior was due to his nature, as he would become a very introverted boy.

He was the total opposite of his sister Claudia that stood in the other little wooden crib, just ahead of his. She was a very emotional child, she cried and screamed a lot, all night long. Yet her casual bright smiles filled her mother's heart with happiness every time. In fact, being alone, she had to care about both her babies and job.

She had long black hair, often tied up into a pony tail, they were particularly lucid and clear. She had green eyes and always had her pair of round glasses put on, as she was affected by myopia. Her facial features couldn't be described as ugly, and not truly beautiful at the same time. Her body was well proportioned, yet a bit too skinny to call it voluptuous.

Time slowly passed, Severus was starting to enjoy his peaceful and monotonous life. Since in his past life he had spent most of his time in studying, training and fighting. Resting for long periods of time was, of course, illogical. Every so often he would sneak out of his little crib, in search for more information about this new world he had been reborn in.

Since inside of the wooden hut there weren't as many things to begin with, Severus had no other choice but to try and reach the only little bookshelf present in the house.

He had already calculated the right path to follow inside of his little head. Firstly he had to climb over the chair on the west side of the rectangular table, combining a little jump and using its momentum to grab over the opposite edges of the chair. As he had already learned how to walk, the next step wasn't that hard, he had just to step over the table. However the last phase of his plan wasn't as easy, since the bookshelf itself was positioned higher than his actual age. To succeed he had to jump, grasp onto the bookshelf with his little chubby hands and throw off of it a book, before falling back down.

He could do it, his calculus were never wrong, his body was indeed weak but he still had his reflexes from his past life.

Severus aligned himself perfectly under the bookshelf. He mustered all the strength his weak legs could afford him to and swiftly grabbed onto the hard wooden shelf. He had at most a few seconds before falling, with a direct and precise movement he detached one hand from the shelf and managed to make a few books fall down on the table. Soon enough he too fell on his but over the table.

Mission accomplished! Happiness inevitably clouded his mind, declaring his first victory in this new foreign environment.

However such joy didn't last long. As after he opened a thick green book he soon realized that he could not understand a single character of the words written over it. In truth, thanks to his newborn mind he had his learning capabilities highly increased and was already able to understand most of the oral language his mother used to speak. Yet he had never seen a written word until now.

To him this was an exemplary example of the supremacy of logic over emotions. He had been completely entranced from the prospective of his first victory that he had not thought of the bigger picture. Since the start of his plan he was already savoring the taste of victory, clouded by his arrogance.

It was currently afternoon and his mother was probably still working, while Darius was playing on the street in front of their house with his friends. As they were probably in the same at the primary school. It was an institution dedicated to teach and educate that was present inside the village of Savitoria. All the kids being five years of age had to be obligatorily enlisted. Darius had started to frequent it very recently, however he seemed to be quite popular within his class.

His character was quite arrogant and aggressive, in constantly need of attention. This was mostly due to the fact that his two little siblings were on his mother spotlight. She directed more care and affection towards them rather than him. Liliana hoped that her young boy could understand the situation and bear with it, yet she was highly overestimating him. Darius was a five years old kind, with his emotional problems and delusions.

Five minutes later, Darius had said to his friend to wait for him to come back, as he needed to drink a sip of water for a second. As soon as he opened the door of the house he quickly noticed the anomaly present in the room. Severus was carefully observing a few books that had been probably dropped from the shelf. He was a bit startled, as his little brother to make the fall must have accomplished movements that a baby of his age shouldn't be able to do. Seeing the bizarre scene unfold before his eyes, Darius little ego decided that was time for him to show off.

"Ehy guys! Come here! Look, the 'freak' is doing strange stuff!"
