“I wonder what it’s like these days,” said Daniel. He pulled out his mobile phone and took a couple of pictures.
“I don’t know,” said Vincent. “It’s been many, many years since I’ve ascended those grungy stairs.”
“They were pretty grungy.”
Two men walked by arm in arm and gave Daniel the once-over. Daniel hadn’t noticed, but Vincent had. Some things never changed. Daniel could still turn heads.
They went to The Greek Taverna for dinner, and afterwards, Vincent walked Daniel back to his car.
“Thank you for a wonderful evening,” said Vincent before kissing him.
After they had finished, Daniel said, “It’s over, is it?”
“I don’t know. Is it?”
Daniel kissed him quickly on the lips. “Unless you invite me home, it is.”
“Then I’ll meet you at my place.”
“Do you want a lift to your car?”
Vincent began to move off. “No thanks, babe. It’s just on the next street.”
