Douluo Dalu: Path of Immortal.

Well, the name and setting are more or less what this fan-fic is about. A man of about twenty got reincarnated in Douluo story, the same age as Tang San. The story is mostly original and I changed some facts from canon on purpose. MC is OP, but he will have his own share of OP enemies that were never present in canon. I made the universe way broader in some sense just for that. Note: this story is already 100k words long. When I finish posting them, it will go on temporary hiatus, as I won't write it until another fanfic on witcher world is finished. Writing is my hobby and I don't plan to stop as it is rather easy and entertaining for me.

Great Spirit Arena (Part 1)

Great Spirit Arena of Suotuo City, the indisputable landmark and place of attraction for old and young, nobles and commoners alike. As long as you have faith in your prowess register as a participant of the fights. Even if you only have money and believe in your vision, betting pools are open for you any time of day and night to win a fortune.

The arena was not only crucial for spirit masters in training but was an architectural marvel to behold.

"It is almost a copy of the Coliseum of Rome." – Aiden wondered and even have a thought whoever designed it was like him, a poor soul cheated by a lanky dude.

"What?" – sometimes Na'er will hear strange vocabulary from her ge, but as an outgoing and young girl full of youthful vigor and awesomeness about herself appearance and character-wise, she behaved like a good wife in waiting not minding many things, aside from one's Aiden specifically explained.

"It's a structure at my home that was used for the fights among people, known as gladiators." – but Aiden explained practically all things that Na'er found unknown or puzzling, as part of the responsibility to educate a child he is taking care of, so adorable head of little miss was filled with all sorts of information, making here cultured and decently knowledgeable for her years. Human years, of course. – "And the architecture of Coliseum is very similar to Great Spirit Arena you can see in front of yourself." – Na'er looked around in boredom.

Still, it was very hard to divert her hobbies from stir-fried chicken legs and wings.

Aiden sighed at the sight. Na'er really was not the type to sit behind the desk and study like all normal children. Well, she is abnormal after all, so let it be.

"Let's go register ourselves for individual fights."

"I want to fight with ge."

"We can't." – he took her hand and led the way to the reception desk. – "We need to be in the same rank to form a team, or at least only rank apart. Our opponents will be chosen in a group of my rank and with two it can get dangerous for you. What will I do if my cute little Na'er got hurt?"

She smiled behind the mask and hugged his hand. Placation successful, sweat from the forehead wiped away. Aiden breathed a sigh of relief. Only he knew that this girl really can pout and hold grudges for days, although it is mostly just seeking his attention. But her rebellious nature can lead to some true-blue trouble.

There was a time when they traversed through forest terrain and she got irritated at all the walking, but Aiden forced her to continue. It was an excellent chance for her to get used to a camping lifestyle that is not all that comfortable and romantic as one can think at first.

But she got into her head that he wanted to abandon her and formulated a plan that only her little head will find as the work of a genius. She ran away at night. Aiden, waking up and not seeing Na'er by his side, got a fright of his life back then. Eventually, he found her under the tree roots, hiding in fear from spirit beasts were too hungry to realize her aura and affiliation to their own kind.

And it was then the realization dawned on him she exchanged her spirit beast nature for talent and really became a genuine human girl inside and outside.

After that, he took note to treat her with more leniency.

"We want to register."

"Your alias, system, martial spirit, age and spirit rank please." – the girl behind the counter smiled politely. She was unexpectedly young and rather beautiful.

"Is age necessary?" – Aiden asked fully understanding what uproar in current spirit master society an eight-year-old spirit elder on the verge of becoming spirit ancestor will create.

"You can skip it." – she said lightly, not minding it in the slightest.

"Okay. We will register in individual fights. Dragon Sword Asura, assault, rank 39. My spirit is a Variant. Two Horned Platinum Dragon." – unlike the systems in the novel, real Douluo Dalu have more varieties in that regard. One of them was a synergy path for rare martial spirits that have several elemental attributes that can serve different purposes. Ice for control and lightning for attack can be one of the examples. Assault system was a synergy of power and control ones. Normally synergy system spirit masters were scarce and even less of them really achieved good battle prowess after all one needs a very precise set of abilities for that and as a result little to no variety of spirit beasts to choose from.

"Twin Fall Fox, suppressor, rank 19." – Na'er didn't waste her time through this year too. She trained in dual swordsmanship, but eventually, Aiden persuaded her to use dual daggers. Twin Fall was the name of bone steel daggers he forged for her. As for suppressor type – they are a synergy of agility and control, and Na'er suited this direction perfectly well.

The girl at the counter looked at the pair with strangeness deep within her charming blue irises, but found it rude to comment on anything.

"Take these badges. You all will start with an iron level badge. The better your battle record is, the more points you will receive and as a result, the better badge you will be upgraded to." – she said and made a registration.

"I want to enter a fight. A cross-realm one." – Aiden played with the iron insignia.

"Cross realm battles right from the start? Customer, I urge you to think twice. Although not all fighters of the arena are really outstanding masters, they still have abundant battle experience at your level as they are not young anymore." – the girl felt a bit weak in a stomach. Although she is a spirit master herself, she still thought it is a very rash of him. She was a kind-hearted girl, thus not wishing for him to get hurt or in the worst-case scenario, the die was normal in her books.

"You are right on one part." – Aiden nodded and Na'er giggled as if knowing what is coming. The receptionist just sighed in relief, but when she heard a continuation of the speech she nearly fell to the floor. – "Make a statement that I won't use my third ring spirit ability."

"P-participant… please reconsider…"

"You are very kind." – he said in a soothing voice. – "But here and now your kindness is misplaced. Register me please, I am not a suicide seeker."

"Ha…" - breathed out. – "Fine, but you should know about the rules of Spirit Arena. Life and death are decided on a ring."

"Thank you." – he bowed slightly with a pose of a high noble.

"Mm, and you young miss Twin Fall Fox." – she asked.

"Same here, want to fight now, but no restrictions or cross-realm battles." – she said calmly, although she too wanted to go at it like Aiden. But they came to an agreement before, so she couldn't. The girl at the counter breathed in relief.

"Wait for a moment. For young miss, the battle will be ready shortly, as for young master, I need to report your unusual request, and depending on the attitude of the management team we might take time to publicize your match."

Aiden nodded. He understood that such strange conditions for new participants are actually the best way to make money on gambling. He already arranged for Na'er to put all remaining thirty thousand gold coins on his win.

"If you want to raise some money, better bet on me." – he said to the girl behind the counter before leaving. Somehow the later never doubted that he will win. There was something convincing in his attitude and some invisible pressure around his stature.

Na'er battle started after several minutes.

Aiden looked at her and saw that she was surprisingly nervous.

"My Na'er is strong, just do everything like in training and you will be fine." – he patted her head.

"Mhm… chicken wings!" – she blurted out.

"Fine, when you win, I will make as many as you like." – he nodded. – "Now go, show me what you'd learned."

She stepped into the arena and suddenly stands all-around became quiet. A moment later they erupted in cheers. Well, even with the mask on she was very charming and actually some mystery left imagination ran wild, only enhancing the effect. Aiden shook his head bitterly. This little fox is really a country toppling beauty.

Her opponent was a young man in his twenties with a wolf beast spirit.

Although the guy didn't use any words to hit on her off the bait, he still straightened his back and made a gallant bow showing a smile that told a lot.

"Li Tiangang, attack system, Ice Wolf martial spirit, fifteen years old." – well, his introduction was unnecessary. Needless to say, it all went wasted in front of this little lady. She didn't even nod.

"Ah, this guy is in for some beating." – Aiden sighed helplessly knowing pretty well Na'er ferocity when it comes to lanky guys.

"If I defeat you, you must go on a date with me." – he smiled confidently.

"He is doomed. He absolutely, positively shouldn't have said that!" - Aiden facepalmed feeling sorry for the all-male population that is watching the match now.

As expected, the moment battle started he wasn't even able to unleash any abilities. Na'er used her spirit skill, Evil Eye Illusion from the start and wolfman froze in place. She didn't unsheathe her daggers and just went up to him, took his wrist and...

She used a poor guy like a club to do some arena surface remodeling, not forgetting to swipe the ground afterward. When he spurted several mouthfuls of blood and looked like he couldn't even stand properly, Na'er just threw him out of the arena.

Well, what would you expect from a girl who trained in Great Way of a Titan to five black marks? Her physical strength was enough to overkill any human who didn't use spirit energy to reinforce the body.

"I'll be damned!" – Aiden looked at the side and saw a guy sitting there shivering all over. – "And here I wanted to hit on her after the battle."

"No way right!" – said apparently his friend. – "Look at those boots of hers, those high heels…"

"Yeah, her legs are so sexy in them!" – said someone in front joining the conversation.

"Sexy my ass! Now imagine that heel going straight for your little bro!" – someone shouted from behind and with that the whole stand shook simultaneously.

Aiden was sitting there while almost dying from laughter imagining docile little Na'er that loves to curdle in his arms kicking right and left.

Then they all shivered again because a girl in question entered their abode and started to make her way to them.
