Na'er (2)

I'm unsatisfied by this chapter, but I couldn't really think about good ideas...

...

Chapter 36 — Na'er (2)

Three years flew by.

And many things happened.

including the arrival of the Red Rose which changed a lot of lives.

Life has never been so better.

The Tang Household were now able to eat satisfiedly without needing to worry about money.

Tang Ziran had a high-paying job at the Mecha Guild. At the same time, Lang Yue was also working at the Medicine Guild.

As for their children, Tang Wulin worked as a blacksmith, while Na'er helped as an assistant for Lang Yue.

The Tang Household now earned enough money to buy a feast everyday to satisfy the two gluttons.

There was even enough extra money for comics, nice clothes, cosmetics, and other things from Red Rose.

Na'er was happy.

Not only given a loving family, she was also able to eat a bunch of delicious foods, read many interesting books, sometimes go to the beautiful beach to play with fireworks, watch concerts, and was also allowed to try her best to help her family.

Na'er couldn't remember her past memories, but she was certain these three years were the best moments of her whole life.

She had a loving family that always worried and cared for her.

Her father, Tang Ziran, was kind and understanding.

Her mother, Lang Yue, was sweet and also a good cook.

Her brother, Tang Wulin, was always dotting and protecting her.

If she didn't meet them, the clueless Na'er would have suffered on the streets because she lost her memories.

This caused her to become extremely grateful and loving to them.

She promised to help them. This was the reason why she helped Lang Yue, while also training with Tang Wulin.

Aside from them, Na'er was also glad to meet the boy who saved her and Tang Wulin.

At first, she was really scared of Nai An after seeing him ruthlessly killing people, but she now wanted to see him.

This was a feeling that was different from her family.

Na'er couldn't understand it, but she found her heart beating fast whenever she was near Nai An.

She would always be flustered, her face turning red with her mind blanking out.

This was why she could only stare at Nai An from far away.

Na'er felt peaceful when she watched Nai An's calm expression while reading a book.

Even when he played his flute, Na'er listened amongst the crowd because the flute music was captivating and mesmerizing to her ears.

A wonderful music that allowed her to immersed in a new world—a familiar world full of beautiful nature!

Yet she find it hard to only watch him from far away.

The two of them lived in different worlds.

But she wanted to selfishly grow closer, so she mustered her courage to change herself for the better.

Na'er now tries to sometimes converse with Nai An.

It was fine even if the conversations were short and brief.

Na'er knew Nai An wouldn't like long and tiresome exchanges.

She chose to greet him whenever they met, while Nai An would just nod as a response.

At least she was able to greet him.

And it was enough.

It might be just herself assuming, but she was glad to grow closer.

A gap that keeps widening.

Na'er was also training herself now. It was because she hated being seen as weak.

Her brother always tried to protect her, but she didn't want to continue troubling Tang Wulin.

Na'er soon started to train her body and combat skills with Tang Wulin. At the same time, Tang Wulin was able to learn many things from their joint training.

After all, the two of them were sharing each other's knowledge and thoughts to help with their training.

As they trained, Na'er was able to display the excellent talent of her physical body that grew at a fast rate.

Although incomparable to Tang Wulin, she was improving faster than average spirit masters.

After her body was trained enough, they started to have sparring sessions.

Although Tang Wulin was reluctant, Na'er was able to convince him.

The sparring sessions were only meant to practice their combat skills.

In the end, Na'er was confidently capable of defending herself using her trained body and combat skills.

No one dared to bully her.

If someone dared, they would receive her powerful punch.

Tang Wulin was satisfied upon seeing the growth of his sister.

However, Na'er knew it was impossible to stand besides Nai An.

Although her body was strong, Na'er still had an unawakened martial soul and soul power.

Moreover, she knew Nai An was living in a world of blood.

It made her wonder if she could even reach the world of Nai An.

And this was impossible.

Unless she became powerful.

Na'er even pondered if Nai An was Vlad from her brother's favorite comic, but she couldn't exactly determine because she hadn't seen Vlad.

Na'er didn't want to become a burden or trouble for her family.

She worked hard to help Lang Yue with her job at the Medical Guild.

The Medical Guild's goal was to develop medicines for the improvement and development of health.

They were even researching about things like Body Enhancing Serum and Talent Enhancing Serum.

As for making medicines, Na'er found herself having a talent for it.

The trials and errors were such an enjoyable experience that made her extremely immersed.

It was also because she wanted to develop medicines that would help her family.

As well as find a clue to becoming stronger.

Aside from helping to research various medicines, Na'er continued to train with Tang Wulin.

Tang Wulin always strived everyday to become stronger.

Na'er knew that her brother was following the training experiences written on the biographies of spirit masters.

And sometimes, she even saw Tang Wulin requesting Nai An for some sparring sessions.

Na'er would then watch how her brother would get miserably beaten.

As for the reason why Tang Wulin was working so hard, Na'er knew it was because her brother wanted to overcome the limits of his so-called trash spirit, the Blue Silver Grass.

Na'er then promised to help her brother to use his Blue Silver Grass better.

As she was smarter, Na'er was able to develop martial soul training plans for Tang Wulin.

After that, Tang Wulin often used his Blue Silver Grass in a variety of ways by practicing its versatility along with the control of his soul power.

He started to experiment using her training plans and the guides from biographies of plant-type soul masters.

Tang Wulin discovered he cultivated and recovered faster in areas full of Blue Silver Grasses. His own martial soul would also show increased usage prowess when within such an environment, consuming less soul power.

And if he focused his spiritual power, tempered by various factors, into Blue Silver Grasses, he could share senses with them to tract things around him quite easier.

Upon hearing such discovery, Na'er brainstormed to devise more application ideas from it.

If Tang Wulin created a field of Blue Silver Grasses first, then wouldn't it help him fight easier in different environments?

But when applied to reality, Tang Wulin was quite shocked since it consumed too much soul power.

Yet it was an amazing idea that came from his sister.

As he used his martial soul more, Tang Wulin gradually lost his low self-esteem, but was quite dejected by seeing his vines not being able to restrict Nai An.

Na'er was soon able to find a simple solution to solve the frail vines.

A brilliant idea to form the vines into thinner grasses before weaving together into strand-type vines that were more resilient, durable, and stronger.

Tang Wulin was amazed by this idea that turned his vines similar to ropes.

The problem was the difficulty of creating those strand-type vines.

Tang Wulin focused on refining his control over the vines and soul power.

With improved controls, he was soon able to control strand-type vines that were like ropes to restrict people.

However, it was only able to restrict Nai An for a second before quickly being destroyed by force.

And Nai An was still restraining his strength.

Yet Tang Wulin was satisfied to see the slight improvements. He thought he could create thicker and tougher ropes by applying more strands.

Na'er was happy to see the happy Tang Wulin again.

She hoped things would always remain happy and peaceful.

If only…

She hadn't met her so soon.

Na'er met a mysterious girl about the same age as her.

And soon, she slowly started to remember her forgotten memories after the girl explained her true identity.

(No clue when she actually remembers it or who came to take her.)

Na'er was extremely shocked to the point she couldn't think straight.

Her own identity started to fall and crumble apart after learning who she truly was.

Na'er realized she couldn't continue living with her family.

It was impossible.

As it was her fate.

A fate that wasn't supposed to exist—which was not much different from a curse.

Na'er was destined to disappear.

As 'she' wasn't even supposed to be born.

'Na'er' will disappear even though it wasn't her fault to be born accidentally.

"Brother… Father… Mother…"

Na'er could feel tears streaming down her eyes as she slowly remembered those precious three years of hers.

However, she had to follow the girl back home.

Or they would get harmed if she refused.

And It was also her fate.

To be eventually swallowed by her other self.

Na'er quietly accepted her fate, but someone suddenly flashed within her mind.

She then said to the girl about wanting to settle issues before returning back.

The girl frowned deeply, but soon nodded her head as an agreement.

It started to rain heavily.

Na'er walked across the streets while shielding the letter in her hands.

She was wet.

Her entire body was completely drenched by the rain.

As Na'er walked, she soon found herself before the villa of Nai An.

Na'er hesitantly stared at the doorbell before quickly pressing it.

And soon, she saw the door being opened widely.

To reveal Nai An.

Her eyes became tearful upon seeing him looking the same as usual.

As if nothing in the world could ever affect him.

Now she could understand why she was attracted to him.

Na'er also wished she could remained unaffected by the world.

After opening the door, I saw that the guest was Na'er.

"Hey…"

She wore a sorrowful expression.

"Is there a problem?"

I enquired dully as my eyes gazed at her miserable state.

It was then, I saw Na'er hugging me with a trembling body.

Was it… fear?

I didn't push her away even as my clothes also got wet.

There was just puzzlement.

Why?

I could hear her sobbing faintly with her hands grabbing my clothes tightly.

As if she didn't want to let go.

Silent.

I silently looked at her crying over my broad chest.

As I lost track of time, Na'er loosened her grasp after crying all her tears out.

The rain has now stopped.

"I'm sorry…"

Na'er slowly backed away, but I held her hand before she could get away.

"Again. You are acting strangely."

My eyes glared sharply at her.

Na'er didn't bother to look away as a smile formed on her face.

"If I were to be erased from this world, how would you react?"

Such a strange question.

Yet I could hear an eerie seriousness from her voice.

"I don't know." I replied simply with a raised brow. "Why bother to ask such a question?"

Then she started to laugh happily.

"I expected that answer from you." Her voice was laced with slight sorrow.

However, she quickly handed me a slightly wet letter.

"Please give this to my family."

I received the letter while looking at her face that wore a forced smile.

Yet unlike mine, it still looked very bright and beautiful.

"You're about to leave, so why not give it to them yourself?"

It felt troublesome.

"Please. I can't bring myself to face them right now. You're the only person I can trust with it…"

She lowered her head.

"I will leave soon. I've remembered my memories, so my true family will now come to pick me up…"

Na'er bit her lips to stop her expression from slowly crumbling apart.

"Bye now! My true family will be mad if I take too long!"

Na'er hurriedly went to leave as she waved her hand at me.

"Farewell, Nai An!"

I silently looked at her leaving.

And this time,

Out of all her greetings and farewells,

There was no 'see you again'.

"Wait."

I suddenly called her out.

"I told you I can't be late…!"

Na'er didn't turn around even as she answered.

"Your question…"

I was certain if she simply left like that, Na'er would definitely disappear from this world—my fate if I never survived the tragedies that occured to me.

That's why…

To the weird girl who always reads books everyday near me—

"You can't disappear much earlier than someone like me."

—A pure soul like you shouldn't disappear much earlier than an ugly soul like me.

"So fight."

—If you can't fight or escape, then just burn with it.

At my words—

Na'er turned her head around with tears running down her cheeks.

Yet her eyes now contained a slowly burning courage.

Na'er then flashed a wide smile.

A real beautiful smile.

"See you again in the future!"

Na'er left before soon meeting with the mysterious girl.

I looked at the letter on my hand before deciding to give it later.

I returned back inside.

To prepare for my visit to the Spirit Pagoda.

If I recall correctly, this was the time where they still didn't know they wouldn't be able to fuse perfectly because of Na'er gaining her own ego, so her feeling scared and sad about disappearing should be normal based on how pure she was.

I hate the fact she had to fuse with the bitch Gu Yue. Like how is this not different from being dead?

Also this chapter was all about explaining the changes that deviates from the original, so yeh, I don't really plan to follow the original which has sad ending.

I will go ultra beyond and reach the realm beyond and beyond gods.
