Poem Sharing

I returned to the clubroom and took a seat in the chair. Monika greeted me with a smile, but her expression quickly shifted to concern. "Hey, there you are! We've been waiting for you. What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."

I forced a smile, "Ah, it's nothing."

Monika didn't seem convinced, her eyes filled with genuine concern. "Are you sure? If something's bothering you, you can always talk to us. We're here for each other."

I appreciated her kindness, but I didn't want to burden them. "Thanks, Monika. I appreciate it, but really, it's not a big deal."

I should change the topic here. "By the way, you mentioned you were looking for me earlier. What's going on?"

"Ah, That's right! We're going to share the poems now!"

"Oh, Then let's start. Again, I'm really sorry."

"No worries~" Monika winked and walked back to join the others.

I stood up and reached into my bag to retrieve my poem.

"Now then, who should I show my poem to first?"

Then a menu with four options appeared on the screen: "Monika," "Sayori," "Yuri," and "Natsuki."

I clicked on Sayori's name and walked over to her. "Sayori."

"Oh, Maki. Do you mind showing me your poem?"

"That's the plan actually. Here, have a look." I handed her the poem, and she took it from me.

A few minutes passed as Sayori remained silent, engrossed in reading the poem.

"...Oh my goodness. This is soooo good, Maki!"

"Eh?"

"I love it~! I have no idea you were such a good writer!"

"Sayori...

"You must be seriously overreacting. I'm not a good writer at all. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing."

That's a lie; I actually inserted a command that allows me to satisfy everyone with the poem.

In DDLC, to get the secret ending, you have to obtain every CG for a single character without triggering Act 2. You need to save at every critical moment and then restart from the main menu to start a new game.

Then, again, get every CG for that one character. Basically, it's a process of "save and repeat." But with what I did, every time I show them my poem, they'll receive satisfaction points, except for Monika.

Believe it or not, She's normally not coded to be a heroine in this game. But of course, I will change that.

"Well, maybe that's why! Because I have no idea what I like either!"

I looked at her blankly and weakly karate-chopped her forehead.

"Ow."

"Please, I know you like having fun."

"Ehehe~ Well, that's part of it."

"Then that's fine by me. As long as you're having fun. Oh, and don't forget to be happy." I weakly pinched her cheeks.

"Well, I understand you better than a lot of other people, you know? So when I read your poem," she puts up a bright smile, "it's a Maki poem! And that's what makes it extra special!"

Sayori hugs the sheet against her chest.

"You're... so weird, but thanks."

"Ehehe~ No problem~"

"Now then, you'll read my poem too, right?" She handed me her poem. "Don't worry, I'm really bad at this. Ehehehe~"

"We'll see about that." I grabbed the poem and read it then I secretly took a screenshot of the poem with my eyes.

"Here you go."

"That was quick."

"Well, Believe it or not. I read fast."

"Hmmm, then rate it."

"Why?"

"Because I'm curious!"

"Hmmm...Fine. 8/10. Despite rushing this poem."

"Oh? Does that mean it's passed?"

"That's right."

"Yayy~ Thank you, Maki!"

"No worries." I gave her a smile, but suddenly everything came to a halt as the system popped up again. I clicked on Natsuki this time and walked over to her.

"...Well, it's about what I expected from someone like you," Natsuki remarked, placing her hand on her waist.

"Did I keep you waiting?"

"N-Not... really... Anyway, here you go!" Natsuki handed me her poem, but she avoided making eye contact.

"Why are you looking away?"

"Just read it!"

"Okay..." And... screenshot.

"Here you go." I handed the poem back to her.

"T-That was fast."

"I'm a fast reader after all."

"Hmm~ I see... Now can I see your poem?"

I nodded and handed it to her, and she snatched it eagerly.

She then reads it thoroughly "Your writing style wouldn't make your message any less valid... but I like the poem."

"Really? I'm not really good at it."

"Well, you're actually good, but you have to improve your writing style!"

"I will."

"Heh... good. I'll be expecting the poem to be even greater next time, got that?"

"Yes, yes."

Well then, the usual.

the system pops up again and everything comes to a halt. I notice a faint sound of footsteps and turn around to see a paper falling from the desk.

Huh? It must be my imagination playing tricks on me.

I turned back to the choices and noticed that when I tried to click on Yuri's name, the time doesn't continue.

Huh?

After clicking on Yuri's name repeatedly, the time resumes and I notice Yuri waiting for me. "Oh... Did I... keep you waiting?"

"Hehe, Not at all."

...That's strange.

I handed my poem to Yuri and she stares at it. A minute passes, more than enough time for her to finish reading.

"Um." "Oh!" She then handed me the poem. "S-Sorry, I forgot to start speaking!"

"It's fine you don't have to force yourself."

"I'm not... I just need to put my thoughts on my words." She then went silent. "

"This is your first time writing a poem right?"

"Er... Yes, Why?"

"I'm just making sure."

I guessed that it might be after reading through it."

"Ah, so it's that bad?"

"No..." She then buries her face in her hands.

"Senpai, How was my poem?"

"O-Oh..." She gets her hands off her face. "Well, By the looks of it. I like the poem, I also like the writing style."

Hmmm... I guess Natsuki and Yuri have different writing styles.

"...I see...Can I read your poem?"

"A-Ah! Sure..." She handed me her poem, and I took it, as usual, I screenshotted the poem with my eyes. Everything should be directed to the folder.

"Here you go." I handed it to her.

"T-That was fast... Are you really reading it?"

"Senpai, I'm actually a fast reader."

"O-Oh, I see... Then how was it?"

I gave her a thumbs up. "If I can rate it, I'll give it an 8/10."

"Oh, thank you, Maki."

"No worries, Senpai." I grinned at her and turned around.

The last choice popped up as everything stopped. I stared at the button for a while and sighed before finally clicking it.

"Hello, Maki~" She gave me a smile as I walked towards her.
