But this also shows the true value of the Spiritual Fruit, it's not so simple as being a couple of Spiritual Crystals. Spiritual Fruits can benefit people in any realm so naturally they are rarely spread out.

Samuel also noticed another downside with these pills, although they provided a quick boost to people's practice and can make them stronger than others, it limits their future by building up the impurities in the pill.

Samuel estimated that if the Dogs of War use the Pills to break through to the Middle Rank 1 it would take 5-10 years at most, but it is unlikely that they will ever break through to the High Rank 1.

But Samuels is happy with that. Ordinary 1 Inch Spiritual Roots with no Spiritual Fruit will take 10-20 years to break through and he needs the quicker strength right now.

Overall 250 people signed up for the Fifth Army, with only 2 Middle Rank 1 Warriors joining.

Nicholas was incredibly disappointed at this result, he came here with arrogance and high hopes thinking that he could take advantage of the Racial War in order to recruit a large number of Rogue Warriors.

That's why he came with some powerhouses, to show his strength. Unfortunately he overestimated his own influence. Who doesn't know that Nicholas is a poor leader and the resources are abysmal.

In fact if it wasn't for the fact that the threat of death is much higher for Rogue Warriors Nicholas wouldn't have been able to hire this many!

Soon the new recruits were shifted off to the base camp of the Fifth Army.

As you would expect, it's incredibly poorly maintained. Samuel saw it through the eyes of one of the Dogs of War.

It was an extremely large courtyard in the centre, easily larger than multiple football fields. Surrounding the edges where shoddily maintained huts made of wood, stone and there were even some small tents set up.

The only reasonably built thing is the large Apartment buildings, they were the homes for warriors. Whereas the huts and tents are for the Mortal Warriors.

However there was something that burnt Samuels eyes when he looked at it. A solid gold palace. At the head of the entire Courtyard there was a giant golden palace. It would easily reach the size of Big Ben!

Samuel estimated that this palace alone cost more than to build the homes of the 50,000 soldiers on the outskirts and even the Apartment buildings for the Warriors!

Only now did he realise that the reason for the disrepair of the Courtyard is this giant palace.

And with the Dogs of Wars eyesight you could clearly see dozens of women travelling between the gardens around the Palace.

This would definitely be a giant financial burden on the Army, their profits rely on the Warriors' journeys within the Eternal Battlefield and the credits paid yearly from the City Lord.

And that is probably around ten million to twenty million credits a year from the City Lord. The rest of the money has to come from the Army's own Warriors. Otherwise even the City Lord couldn't afford to raise all of this.

After all that's hundreds of millions of credits being sent out a year just to the five armies, whose only real purpose is the Racial Invasions and the maintenance of the City.

Although the City Lord can probably earn tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands each year, a lot has to be sent to his superiors or used for his own descendants. Not to mention the city needs a lot of resources to run each year.

And the costs of the Army isn't just credits, they need to send things like equipment and Spiritual Pills. Just these payments cost hundreds each year!

So in the end these Credits and resources that are sent to the Armies are already relatively small. Especially for the Fifth Army who don't have many Warriors to support the finances.

Naturally Nicholas' extravagant spending means that the Fifth Army is unable to bear the financial load anymore which led to the decrepit houses even lower in quality than the rest of the city.

At least Samuel could see that the Warriors were in good health. Better than being malnourished at least.

Of course this is also due to Nicholas having some restraints on his spending. After all if his father visited and noticed that the soldiers were malnourished it is likely that he would be demoted immediately.

Nicholas knows that his father is aware of his actions, being extravagant and wasting money. But there always has to be boundaries. If he can't maintain some basic standards he would be ridiculed out of the city.

As soon as the new recruits arrived they were given an hour to check out their rooms before they each came to the armoury.

One of the Dogs of War checked out the entire outfit to show it to Samuel, it was a basic leather set of armour, light and relatively durable. Its quality far better than the mortals armour.

Afterwards they were dragged onto the courtyard and began to go through some basic military exercises. Marching, group formations, group exercises.

Samuel, who sat within the original Dogs of War headquarters checked out his system.

His Racial War SubSystem points rose to 900! Unfortunately the number of Dogs of War dropped by over 70 in that battle. However they will be quickly replaced once the rewards are distributed.

However there are a guaranteed 500 Spiritual Crystals coming from this current war, but Samuel decided he would finally save up for a 2 Inch Spiritual Root Warrior.

Although he could get 500 more 1 Inch Spiritual Roots, Samuel is starting to realise the importance of High End Combat power. Even one Rank 2 Warrior could boost his organisation's status drastically.

Unfortunately after this battle, there is definitely little chance for anything to happen. After the heavy losses and the failed invasion it is unlikely that the Eleflares will attack again for a long time.

And Samuel was right, three years passed since the last battle. Samuel received around 550 Spiritual Crystals and after spending 50 to replenish the lost Dogs of Wars he saved the rest in their treasury.

The battles in other cities also ended over this time, including the battles in the Super Cities. Overall everything was quite good, most cities successfully repelled the invaders. Dragon Continent only lost two Second-Tier Cities from this invasion.

Same with the rest of the Continents, they only lost a dozen Second-Tier cities in total. But there was one exception to this, the Arctic Continent lost a dozen themselves!
