Chapter 71
“bike ride?”
“I would love to, but I have a meeting in five minutes and Almaaz's babysitter won’t show..” she says frowning
“I'll get to it…you can start driving so long,” I reply grabbing the bag from her arms.
They say there comes a point in the relationship where one only stays for the sake of the children or name...
Much of our time is spent running errands, grabbing coffee and sleeping on the couch for like five minutes before getting a call about the stock market.
I hopped onto my motorcycle though, I needed a ride, not alone though…not today, especially if today marks the first anniversary of me not being a doctor anymore. Not feeling the pleasure of saving a life, the thrill of operating…and the beat of a heart as I held it before me, checking if it’ll suit the patient. I worked hard for so many years only for all of it to be thrown into a garbage bag and forgotten.
I don’t remember doing anything for myself.
