The Ritual

The cultists began chanting something we couldn't understand and suddenly a black and white energy created a circle isolating us from the elder cultists. Then a line of energy formed between the elder cultists forming an 8 pointed star with us at the center. As they kept chanting we suddenly heard a cracking noise. We looked up and saw the orbs that the statue was holding start cracking and it looked like liquid starlight was flowing out of it and landing in the magic circle. As we were slowly being swallowed into the liquid starlight we grabbed each others hands and activated <Unity > to hopefully give us enough strength to survive whatever is going to happen to us. The liquid starlight felt like it was beginning to be absorbed into our body through every pore in our bodies. At first it felt like taking a bath in ice cold water. Then it felt like someone was stabbing us with a million needles everywhere. The pain was unimaginable and it kept switching between a feeling of burning and freezing constantly. It felt like it went on for hours

As we heard the system give us a notification we finally felt the pain stop. And then it started up all over again. Our bodies were slowly dissolving into black sludge like liquid. We were still completely aware of everything even though our bodies were no more. All that was left seemed to be our mana cores. Suddenly the black sludge that was our bodies started being absorbed into our mana cores as they started to increase in rank.

After the sludge was fully absorbed into our mana cores we heard a voice speaking to us. The voice sounded both masculine and feminine.

[???] We are so sorry for what is happening to you my children. We are sadly unable to restore you to your original states but we will be able to give you a new life. We will also give you a piece of our divinity to help you stay alive and strong.

Suddenly Artemis had his mana core struck by a beam of pure white energy while Raphael had his struck by a beam of pure dark energy. Then the two mana cores slowly started orbiting around each other slowly getting faster and faster.

The cultists looked on in happiness as our mana cores drew closer and closer together slowly becoming immaterial and overlapping as sparks of light and dark energies were being let off into the surroundings. As the cores fully overlapped they seemed to fuse into one with black and light energies rotating around in them. 

<Ding... Mana cores fused together>

<Beginning fusion of hosts souls>

Our souls that were housed in our separated mana cores began to merge together. We felt like all of our lives and memories became one as we were no longer a we just an I at this point. But the ritual wasn't complete yet, I was still just a mana core floating in the air without a body. The statue above us then began to drip golden blood onto our mana core that slowly began to form into a new body. I was still a baby but I felt so much stronger and powerful. My one of my eyes was black while the other was white while my hair looked like a river of stars. I was slowly lowered back to the ground as I fell unconscious from the stress of the ritual but just before I saw the system notifications.
