"There, love. That is just exactly what I want from you." He said, his eyes dancing with mirth. "Try that the next time you're provoked, how good does it feel?"
It felt good, she wanted to say and she was horrified by the thought. What was he playing at? Annalise had thought he'd get mad at her but instead, he was… Smiling?
"What are you doing?" She asked, forcing her brain to not delve in deep into their nearness even though a part of her was wondering how his hair would feel underneath her fingers.
"Me?" He asked in a surprised tone. "I'm not doing anything, you're the one who judged my character and said I've been running on luck." And he leaned in even closer, his breath inches away from hers.
"Isn't that so?" He asked in a hoarse tone, his lips almost touching hers when he spoke.
