Dimensional Travel: The Ageless Wanderer

Max Draven, a high school student, was tormented by his bully, Dany, the son of the city's top businessman, and his gang. The relentless bullying pushed Max to the brink of suicide, but he lacked the courage to follow through and didn’t want to worry his parents. One day, during another round of torment, Max accidentally fell from the roof of the school building. Miraculously, he survived but slipped into a coma. In the darkness of his subconscious, Max found himself in a vast, lightless space. Confused, he heard a voice from behind him: "This is inside your subconscious mind." Turning around, he saw a shadow of an old man with long hair and beard, his eyes glowing light blue and exuding a dominating presence. "Who are you?" Max asked. "I’m you, and you are me. We are one. Live with no regrets," the old man replied. As Max stared in confusion, his head began to hurt again. After four long months, Max finally woke up. His eyes glowed a light blue. As he began to wonder where he was, a sharp pain surged through his head. The nurse walked in and, seeing him in agony, called for the doctor in a panic. The doctor rushed in and administered an injection, slowly easing Max’s pain and lulling him into a deep slumber. After some time he woke up to see his mother by his side sleeping from exhaustion. "I'm back. Is this really true? What day is today?" he murmured. "June 6th, 2024. It’s only been four months then." With a perplexed look, Max pondered what was real and what was a dream. He knew that this was real; he had returned after what felt like 400 years of hell. He was glad. "Ha…" he sighed in relief. Thoughts of his bullies filled his mind, and his eyes glowed with a deadly rage and killing intent. "Every one of you will pay for what you did. I’ll make sure you do." During his coma, Max's consciousness had accidentally traveled to a world full of war and conflict, inhabited by cultivators and sects. He had endured 400 years of strife and hardship there, but in the real world, only four months had passed. Now, armed with the knowledge and strength from his otherworldly experience, Max was determined to seek vengeance on those who had tormented him. The bullies who had pushed him to the edge would soon face the consequences of their actions.

Mountain Side Deal -1

In the stillness of a mountainside road, surrounded by towering pines and the faint whisper of a distant stream, a black car stopped, and two men stepped out. Both wore black suits and sunglasses, projecting an air of authority and mystery, as if they belonged to something big and secretive.

One of the men, tall and lean, pulled out a cigarette and lighter. As he took a puff, he turned to his companion and said, "So, it seems like we have to wait here for a few hours to meet those bastards again."

"Yeah, why can't they just be on time for once? I had to cancel my date with my girlfriend for this crap," grumbled the shorter, stockier man, his voice echoing off the rocky cliffs that lined the winding, deserted road.

The tall guy glanced around, seeing no one approaching. He turned back to his partner. "By the way, where's that newbie? Why is he taking so long?"

"Maybe he got into an accident or something. You know how clumsy he is. Why did they even recruit such a useless idiot in the first place?" the short guy replied, kicking a loose pebble into the underbrush.

"Yeah... call him and tell him if he doesn't get here in ten minutes, I'll skin him alive," the tall guy said, frustration evident in his voice.

*Ring... Ring...*

After a moment, the call connected.

"H-hello," came a nervous voice, barely audible over the rustling leaves.

"Where the hell are you? Do you even know the agreed time for this deal?" the short guy snapped. Suddenly, the tall guy snatched the phone from him.

"Do you have any idea how important this deal is? If there's any mess, you're the one who is going to explain that to our boss," he said angrily, his voice cutting through the still air.

"S-sorry, sir. I'm on my way. I'll be there in a few minutes," the newbie stammered.

"Make it fast," the tall guy ordered, cutting the call. He then sat back in the car, turning on the air conditioner with a sigh of exasperation.

The short guy checked his watch and sighed wearily. "This is killing me. When are we ever going to get some rest?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're never getting a vacation in this lifetime," the tall guy responded, leaning back and closing his eyes for a moment.

Working in a gang or any such organization meant they had to be ready at all times, dropping everything to follow orders from higher-ups. Even if it was the middle of the night or they were in the middle of something important, they had to respond immediately or face serious consequences. The organization was filled with people who would do anything to curry favor and look good to the bosses, so slacking off was not an option. But with the high risk and pressure came significant rewards, which was why Victor had decided to join them.

After ending the call, Victor sighed as he looked at his phone. He thought of his father, who was in the hospital, and the bills that needed to be paid. Victor's father had heart disease and, as a cleaner, didn't earn much. Despite being diligent, the money wasn't enough. Victor was in college, but after learning about his father's condition and the need for a large sum of money for surgery, he decided to take this job when he received an offer from a senior who had graduated before him. The main reason was that he was good at fighting.

Victor was neither a thug nor a bully; he simply enjoyed competition and saw fighting as a sport. Though he didn't like the idea of working in this capacity initially, he had chosen this path for his father's well-being. He lied to his father, claiming he had secured a job as a driver for a big shot, with good pay, so his father needn't worry about hospital and living expenses. His father had been happy to hear this, but Victor felt terrible for not telling the truth.

He sighed deeply, recalling the recent events in his life, then started the car and drove out of the underground parking of a large building. The streets were mostly empty, the early morning sun casting long shadows across the asphalt. As he navigated through the city, his mind wandered back to the days when his biggest worry was passing his exams. Now, he was entangled in a dangerous game, all for the sake of his father's health.

Victor arrived at the mountainside road, the black car already visible in the distance. He parked a few meters away and quickly approached the two men. The tall guy stepped out of the car, glaring at him.

"You're late," he said coldly.

"Sorry, I got held up in traffic," Victor mumbled, avoiding eye contact.

The short guy chuckled mockingly. "Traffic, huh? In this part of town? Save your excuses, kid."

Victor clenched his fists but said nothing. He knew better than to argue. The tall guy took a final drag from his cigarette and flicked it away.

"It won't happen again," Victor replied, trying to keep his voice steady.

As they were saw determination in victor's eyes they let it go. And decided to wait for other party to come.
