Abusing the system

Looking at the timer, it says: 54 minutes and 32 seconds left.

"I have another hour to learn skills??"

Hurrying, Alaric accessed the computer and went back to the wind skills.

"I already finished one air technique; I should keep doing some more of these using the momentum."

At the same time, Sister Greta was watching from a stand above, completely dumbstruck.

"Has this kid already learned it!? I mean, it's a low-tier skill, but that was only 5 minutes! Not even I would be able to do that!"

Scrolling through the air skills available, he decides to get an attack one; it's called wind needle.

*Wind Needle: A middle-tiered skill that allows the user to create a tiny air needle surrounding the user. Starts off as one needle and can be gradually increased.

Selecting the skill, he opened the book provided and saw another human diagram. Ignoring it, Alaric moved straight over to the instructions. He followed the steps taken in the book and let his mana flow through the several points just as the book described and aimed with his right hand.

Something actually happened, though not really the result he had been expecting. A slight breeze flew out of his right arm, but there wasn't any needle.

"Oh, this technique uses the breeze skill to push the needle forward. Now I just need to create the needle."

Focusing back on the technique, he kept trying. On the 22nd attempt, something changed. A sharp needle made entirely of air hovered before the palm of his hand. Then the breeze burst out of his hand, making the needle fly into a wall and get buried deep.

<Congratulations on creating another skill! You will be rewarded one skill point. Would you like to name the skill?>

'Let's keep naming them the original name; I don't have time to come up with other ones.'

"Wind Needle."

<Middle-Ranked offensive skill, Wind Needle

Description: Wind Needle compresses air surrounding the user into the shape of a small needle. After the forming of the needle, a strong gust of wind bursts from the user's hand and launches the needle forward.

Cast time: 1 second, scales up +1 second with each added needle created.

Mana required: 10 initial use, scales up five extra mana per needle created, max mana use 55.>

The destructive power was shocking, to say the least; Alaric couldn't help but smile seeing the damage to the wall. Looking back at the counter, it displayed 46 minutes and 11 seconds left.

Happy with the results, he walked back to the display and returned to the air techniques. This time, he clicked into the movement category. A list of techniques popped up, none fully catching his eyes till he laid his eyes on one.

*Wind Glide: A middle-tiered skill that allows the user to slowly glide in the air. The skill manipulates the air surrounding the user to push the user enough to slowly glide downwards.

"Oh? This sounds useful."

Selecting the book, he picked up another mana potion and got to work. Like before, he had to manipulate his mana to go through different points and create a reaction.

Alaric kept jumping and landing on his side, trying to perfect the technique, the pain should've been unbearable after a while, but he didn't even flinch. Clearly, his determination when doing quests had transferred into his skill comprehension.

This skill took a while longer to complete; after 38 consecutive tries, it finally worked.

Alaric slowly glided to the ground, not hitting it with a bang like earlier.

"Yes! It worked!"

<Congratulations on creating another skill! You will be rewarded one skill point. What would you like to name the skill?>

"Wind Glide."

<Middle-Ranked movement skill, Wind Glide

Description: Wind Glide manipulates the air surrounding the user to push upward, causing a wind gliding effect.

Cast time: 1 second; continues casting for the entire gliding duration.

Mana required: 10 initial use, scales up five extra mana per second air born, max mana use unlimited.>

"This is too op; not only am I getting so many useful skills, but I'm also getting so many skill points!"

Not able to hide his enthusiasm Alaric ran back over to the computer to keep learning more skills; he then heard a voice come from behind him.

"You've already passed; you don't have to keep learning skills."

Turning around, he saw the all-familiar beauty he'd seen a lot recently. Her curves are perfectly portrayed by the beautiful white dress.

"I've passed?"

"Yeah, I've never seen anyone score so high in my life. You'd receive 500 points for this level, the max amount."

"And how many points would I need to pass?"

"There are 5 sections of the test, and the minimum required score to pass the test is 250 points. That would be an average of 50 points per section. You got 1555 points; you'd be able to pass the test 6 times over with that score."

"Oh, can I not keep learning more skills? I find it really fun."

"Normally, I would let you keep going; however, I don't think you could."

"What do you mea...."

Alaric could be seen folding from nothing, passing out on the spot. The goddess in the white dress moved quickly and caught him before he hit the floor.

"You've not only taken many tests before this, but you've also learned three new skills in the span of a few minutes. Your brain couldn't possibly be able to keep up with that kind of intensity."

Pulling out a flask of red liquid, she forced it down Alaric's unconscious body before throwing him over her shoulder and carrying him out of the room.

Everything was dark for a while; eventually, Alaric opened his eyes and sat up. He was in a small bed in a small room, really not living the luxury life. The room was quite empty; there was a lamp, desk, door, bed, and a small wooden dresser.

Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his head; he reactively put his hand on his head, shocked by the intensity of the pain. His head was bandaged.

Thankfully the pain went away as quickly as it had appeared, leaving Alaric to look around the small room again. There really wasn't a lot; even on the desk, there was only a blank sheet of paper and a pencil.

Desperate to find his whereabouts, he pulled the blanket off him and turned to his side to try and stand up. At that moment, the doorknob to the door twisted and opened fiercely.
