Artifacts and a Date with a Pink Pony

So like...it's 2Am where I'm from and it came to me that technically it was already four days since last update so...here you go! Hope you like it!

Getting back Home, only to hear that spike joined the newly established Cutie Mark Crusaders was totally not something that Starfall expected to happen, but in all honesty... he probably should have... After all the dragon was already close with the three fillies, so why wouldn't they invite him too?! In the end Spike also doesn't have a Cutie Mark and while Dragons don't really get one anyway, it doesn't stop Spike from joining the girls in their fun activities...

Starfall decided to leave the kids to their own devices and went back to work inside his Secret Laboratory.

He glanced outside through the window as he approached the stairs towards the basement and assessed the weather.

The Pegasi already announced that winter shall begin In a few days and it was pretty obvious thanks to all the naked trees and the relatively cold temperature outside. He smiled wondering how nice Ponyville was going to look with the white covers of snow adorning all the open surfaces...

The Unicorn finally descended the stairs and walked into his Artifact Lab.

It was a chamber dedicated to all his research about magic artifacts, and the center of the room housed a pedestal with five golden necklaces and a golden crown, each housing a large Gemstone representing Cutie Marks of each one of the Mane Six... It were the Elements of Harmony.

Starfall smiled seeing the powerful gemstones and walked by them intending on approaching the bookcase at the side of the room.

A number of books soon flew of the shelves as he took them towards his work table.

It was time to continue his research!

Artifacts were an interesting concept in Equestria. They were supposedly some of the most powerful magic available to Ponies outside of the sheer power of an Alicorn.

They were divided into two groups. Naturally formed artifacts, and artificially created artifacts.

Some examples of a naturally formed artifact, were the Elements of Harmony. While their origin stemmed from the Tree of Harmony that was planted by the Pillars of Equestria, they were formed by intent and magic itself and Starfall couldn't help but admire Starswirl's ingeniouity.

Honestly, even the Tree of Harmony, while created artificially, could almost classify as a Naturally formed artifact thanks to the way it was created.

Another example was Chrysalis's Throne. An Artifact of naturally formed anti-magic stone. Well... even the Changeling nest could be classified as a sudo-Natural artifact...

Natural artifacts spanned from the Mirror Pond, to the already mentioned examples, and also encompassed most of the magical objects that appeared in The Equestria Girls series.

Natural Artifacts were often extremely powerful and were created by the nature of magic itself, but they were also extremely Rare.

A much more common type of Artifact was an Artificial Artifact.

They were magical objects created using powerful materials, some even using materials from natural artifacts themselves, and magical runes.

Those objects, While rarely if ever possessed the capability of affecting the entire Equestria like the Tree of Harmony, still included among themselves some of the most powerful and dangerous objects in existence.

Just look at the Amulet of Alicorn or the Grogar's Bell! Or even the Crystal Heart which is capable of protecting an entire Kingdom from the frozen north!

Starfall salivated on just the thought about studying it, although he suspected that it wasn't entirely Artificial because of its sheer power...

The more he thought about it, The more Starfall realized how many artifacts there were and he wanted to understand them all!

he dived into his studies with double the effort hoping to finally start some proper experimentation before the winter comes to an end...

A few weeks passed with nothing of note really happening other than Starfall making strides in the Artifact creation field, and inviting Pinkie Pie on a date.

Yes, he finally did that after realising that the girl walked around quite depressed unlike her usual quirky party pony self. He felt pretty bad after realising that it was most likely his own fault because he had a relationship with all the girls other than her and she clearly also had feelings for Starfall...

And don't get him wrong, It wasn't out of pity. He genuinely liked Pinkie and wanted to add her to his Herd, but he originally wanted to wait for after the winter was over.

That went out of the window though when he saw her sulking under a tree, munching on a muffin that Derpy provided her, trying to cheer the Pink coloured pony up.

It didn't work as well as she hoped though so Starfall decided that there was no point in waiting. So he walked towards Pinkie trying to figure out why she suddenly brightened after scratching her back.

His memory jolted and he realized that it might have been this so called Pinkie Sense, and it seemed like he was correct after taking a quick glance at the mare using his mage sight.

The magic in her mind and on her back was settling down from recent activity, which confirmed his suspicions towards Pinkie Pie. She really had some inborn foresight ability!

He decided to leave it for later though because he had a mare that needed to be cheered up.

"Hey Pinkie." He said softly from behind The Mare who turned towards him with her expression instantly brightening and her cheeks dyeing red.

"Starfall! I could feel that this was going to be my lucky day!" She said enthusiastically as she appeared right in front of the unicorn.

"Haha, I could tell!" He said amusedly. "How would you like to go out with me somewhere? I wanted to get out of the basement, and I found just the pony needed when somepony wants to have some fun." He winked and Pinkie giggled happily.

"Abso-cupcake-lutely! Let's go to...uhhh...I'm noy sure actually haha..." Pinkie Laughed awkwardly realising that she didn't know where to go with Starfall.

"Well, what about visiting Rarity? She said that Our clothes for the Grand Galloping Gala we're almost ready and she wanted to hear our opinion. Then we can go have dinner at Le Nourrisser or just some sweets at the Sugarcube Corner. My treat." He said with a wink.

Pinkie Pie was at first reluctant to go visit another mare during their time together, but she realized that he wasn't planning on inviting Rarity and She needed to get used to the concept of sharing the Stallion.

That she also loved all her friends very much was another reason why she didn't really object to the idea.

"Ah! Darling! What a pleasant surprise! What brings you here? Oh and hello to you too Pinkie Pie Dear." Said Rarity happily as soon as she saw the duo enter her boutique. She gave Starfall a peck on the lips and hugged Pinkie Pie before turning and signalling them to follow her.

"You said that the clothes for the Gala were almost ready so we came to take a look. Is that alright Love?" Asked Starfall with a smile and Rarity beamed.

"Why of course Darling! Come quickly! The Dresses and your suit are already done, I just need to add a few little details and see whether you like it or not." She said with a wink and Starfall nodded.

Pinkie on the other hand felt a bit left out, that is until Starfall didn't shorten the distance between them making their sides touch and causing the party pony to blush heavily. Seems like Starfall wasn't very subtle in his advances anymore... and she liked it...

"Behold! 'The Royal Stallion'! "Rarity said in a grandeour manner while revealing the first set of clothes.

Starfall was instantly amazed seeing the clothes and couldn't help but admire Rarity's talent in designing.

It was a silvery-white coloured Suit with black and purple accents and golden buttons adorning the clothes, the entire suit giving off the feeling of royalty. It was honestly a perfect suit for the unicorn And He couldn't wait to try it on...

"Wow! Rarity! It's Amazing!" Exclaimed Pinkie Pie when she saw the clothes.

"It really is Rarity! You really went above yourself! I can't wait to try it on!" He said while extending his hoof towards the clothes, but his hoof was swatted aside.

"No touching! I still have a few stitches to do before it's ready to wear..." Said Rarity with an amused expression.

"Alright. Then let's see what else you got for us then." Said Starfall and Rarity opened another curtain to reveal six sets of dresses, each one prettier than the other.

"Woah! They are all beautiful Rarity! You really are the best in Equestria!" Said Starfall and Rarity beamed from his genuine praise which Pinkie Pie only affirmed.

The Dresses were actually ready to try on, so Pinkie quickly jumped into her candy themed Clothes and showed herself to the two unicorns, waiting for their opinion with excitement.

Starfall looked at the mare and couldn't help but grin.

"It suits you perfectly Pinkie. You look so cute and tasty that I almost want to eat you." He said with a wink and Pinkie blushed so heavily that it became apparent even under her already pink coat...

Rarity laughed and agreed that Pinkie looks delicious and very fashionable, which consequently ended up with Pinkie being satisfied with the clothes.

Starfall wondered whether he didn't just rescue Rarity from the mess that would have happened in the original story regarding those clothes, but he decided to bring the other girls here later, so that he could praise them enough to satisfy them and make sure there won't be any problem for Rarity...

After saying goodbye to the Fashionista Unicorn, The duo went towards the restaurant with a French name that still baffled Starfall because there was no actual country in this world that spoke a different language... correction...There were countries with different languages, like the Zebra community, but everyone knew the Equestrian Common or Neo-Ponish, as if through magic, which probably was the case... He decided to not think too much about the language mess in this world and just accept the French which some ponies used in the weirdest of places.

Even Rarity tended to use French in naming her designs and she was from Ponyville so where did she learn it?!

"So what would you like to eat?" Asked Starfall looking with amusement at the Party Pony unused to such refined establishments.

"Uhh...I...Will...have..." She struggled to say what she wanted and Starfall tried to suppress his laughter seeing her confusion as she tried to read the French-like names on the menu.

"Hey! Don't laugh!" She said with a pout and It only made Starfall laugh harder.

"Sorry, Sorry! Just... you looked so cute while trying to understand this haha!" Said Starfall while suppressing his laughter with difficulty. "Here, let me help you." He said before standing up and walking over to her side before sitting on the sofa which was one of the reasons he liked this restaurant.

Pinkie instantly blushed from the closeness and only partially listened as he explained the dishes to her. Despite the common opinion, Pinkie didn't eat only sweats and she also liked normal food as long as it tasted good or intensive.

She was the 'Japanese tasting like' kind of pony, and she enjoyed it when food had a strong taste, be it spicy, sweet or sour...

They ended up with choosing a spinach ravioli or something like this as apparently Pinkie loved spinach, and Starfall was of the exact same opinion.

The food was delicious and the rest of the dinner passed by in a surprisingly calm manner with only some idle chat happening here and there.

Starfall realised That Pinkie Pie seemed much more relaxed than she was usually, so he started to wonder whether everything was alright with her. as they sat there eating calmly, he moved his hoof to touch her own in the middle of the table.

Pinkie looked up from her food questioningly, and Starfall smiled at her.

"You know that I'm here for you right? No matter what troubles you, you can come to me and I'll do my best to help you and support you..." He said slowly caressing her hoof with his own.

"Umm...Where did this come from?..." Asked Pinkie a bit flushed, her heart beating faster as she looked at the Stallion of her dreams acting so nice towards her.

"Dunno, I just felt like you needed to hear that." He said with a kind Smile.

They looked at each other for a while in silence until finally Starfall broke the silence.

"Do you want to get out of this place?" He asked and she smiled before nodding eagerly.

Starfall quickly payed for the food and dragged Pinkie Pie towards his house surprising the Pink mare.

"A-aren't you worried that Twilight or someone might catch us?" She asked but Starfall just smiled.

"The Library is empty today, and I don't know a better place for a talk than a warm and cozy house with no one around." He explained while trying to reach the Library as soon as possible.

While he did apply spells to keep them warm despite the snow falling all around them, he wanted to keep Pinkie in the mood she was in the restaurant so that they could finally have that long overdue talk...
