Chapter 43

" Are you okay Yuno? Relax I'll take care of them. " Asta said as he got ready to attack. Yuno who was surprised by Asta's entrance snapped out of his trance and grabbed Asta's shirt.

" Gah! Yuno what the hell! " Asta said as Yuno let go of his shirt.

" Relax Asta. She already healed me and besides, I was the one who asked her to fight me so it's fine. " Yuno said.

" What? You asked her to fight you? Why?? " Asta asked confused.

" I want to see the difference in skill between us that's all. " Yuno said.

" Oh okay. How strong are they? "

" I don't know but they might be as strong as a captain. " Yuno said.

" Seriously?!! " Asta yelled as he then looked at Mars, Mark, Fana, and Rachael.

" Asta you idiot, why did you run off?!! " Noelle asked as she reached Asta.

" Sorry Noelle, I saw Yuno with that woman over there and thought she was harming him so I attacked. Turns out she just healed him after Yuno challenged her to a fight so everything is fine now. " Asta said.

" Yuno are you Okay? " Mimosa asked as she reached them.

" Yeah, I'm fine Mimosa. I'm already healed. "

" That's good. Noelle why are you bleeding?!! " Mimosa asked as she looked at Noelle's leg.

" Oh don't worry. I just scraped my leg on a stone when we were running away from a trap. " Noelle said.

" Well, we can't leave it like that. I'll heal it so just relax. " Mimosa said as she activated her healing spell.

" Yo Asta you finally made it. " Luck yelled as he ran to Asta.

" Luck. Yep, I'm here, but was it really necessary to activate all those traps?!! " Asta yelled.

" Yep. It was fun. " Luck said.

" Ehhh??!? " Asta yelled.

" You guys also felt that right? " Mark asked as he looked at Asta.

" Yep. His sword was erasing the mana in the air. " Rachael said remembering the feeling of mana particles disappearing as Asta swung his sword towards her.

" Yep. If we didn't know mana zone we wouldn't have noticed. All that training made off. " Fana said.

" Your right. There's something I wish to test. I'm going to fight him. " Mars said.

" Hmm alright. Have fun. " Mark and Fana said simultaneously.

Mars started walking towards the group. The group noticed as they looked at Mars.

" What's your name? " Mars asked as he pointed towards Asta.

" My name is Asta. I'm a magic knight from the clover kingdom. " Asta said seriously.

" I see. Well, I'm going to attack you now. Try your best to survive. " Mars said.

" Wait what?!! " Asta yelled in confusion.

Mars said nothing more as he created a crystal spike and launched it towards Asta. Snapping out of his confusion Asta quickly drew his sword and cut the spike in half.

* boom * x 2.

The 2 spikes landed to his side's behind him as Asta looked at Mars.

" Wait what about the others?! " Asta yelled in worry as he looked to his side's.

" Don't worry. They are safe. " Mars said as he pointed behind him. Asta looked there and saw everyone was okay.

" Besides you shouldn't get distracted during a fight. " Mars said seriously.

" You'll die otherwise. "

" Oh yeah. Well then try and kill me then! " Asta yelled as held his sword to his right.

* boom *

Stomping on the ground, Asta made a small crater as he rocketed forward. He appeared behind Mars and swung his sword.

* slash *

His sword went straight through Mars, cutting him in half. Asta widened his eyes as Mars times into crystal and broke.

' A clone! ' Asta thought.

Asta looked around. He turned to his left..

* bam *

He was meet with Mars foot hitting him in the face. Asta fell to the floor as he rolled backward letting go of his sword.

He quickly got up and looked at his sword. Eyes widened he raised his arms to guard his face.

* bam *

Mars threw his fist at Asta's face which he blocked. Asta skidded back before stopping. He looked at his arm which was red from the punch.

' That punch was really strong! But why isn't he using his magic?! ' Asta thought.

'Hmm, interesting. My kick had a little bit of mana on it but it didn't get erased. So only his sword has that ability. ' Mars thought.

' I have to get my sword back! ' Asta thought.

Asta crouched down and grabbed a piece of the broken terrain. He then chucked it at Mars who watched it coming.

Mars sidestepped the attack and raised his hand as he looked at Asta's fist coming towards his face.

Asta though saw this and retracted his hand. He then went to his right and quickly grabbed his sword. He held in front of him as he stared at Mars.

Mars just looked at Asta calmly as he straightened his posture.

' Alright then. Let's test his sword's capabilities. '

Mars watched as Asta took a deep breath and rushed towards him. Mars jumped into the air as Asta swung his sword down.

* boom *

His sword collided with the ground, braking the terrain even more. Asta quickly pulled his sword out and got ready as a giant crystal sword come down upon him.

He swung his sword towards the crystal sword, breaking it. He jumped onto the part that hard the handle and started running on it.

The crystal on the broken sword created spikes that shot towards Asta. Thinking quickly Asta stopped in his tracks and held his sword in front of him as a shield.

The spikes made contact with the sword's flat side and broke into pieces. Asta got up and looked at Mars who was floating in the air.

Asta tried to move but couldn't as his feet were encased in crystal. He used his sword to get out of the invading and then used the flat side of his sword to hit a piece of crystal at Mars.

* whoosh *

The crystal flew towards Mars who stopped from hitting him, mere inches from his face. He calmly looked at Asta who appeared in front of him.

Asta swung his sword at him and cut him in half. Asta's eyes widened as he landed on the ground.

' Another clone. ' Asta thought.

Suddenly crystal sprouted out of the ground and encased Asta's body. He couldn't move at all and his sword was couldn't touch the crystal.

" Interesting. " Mars said as he walked towards Asta.

" Your sword is made of anti-magic. That explains why you could cut through magic attacks so easily. The flat side of your blade can redirect magical attacks and act as a shield.

However, it's only the sword that has this ability. You don't have any magic, do you? " Mars said.

Asta stood in shock as he listened to Mars list the capabilities of his sword. He then snapped out of it when Mars said that he had no magic.

" Yep, I have no magic. " Asta said seriously.

'He has no magic. Antimagic should be used by royals not a magic-less commoner like him. ' Klaus thought.

" True you have no magic but that's exactly why you are the only one who can use that sword. " Mars said as the crystal surrounding Asta disappeared.

" Eh?" Asta said as he got freed.

" Why are you so surprised? That sword is a counter to all mages. No mage could hold that sword as their mana would be drained. Since you have no mana that doesn't affect you so you can use the sword easily. " Mars said as he walked away.

Asta stood there in shock as he watched Mars walk away from him. He looked at the sword in his hands and his grimoire.

'Only I can use this sword. Guess having no magic was a stroke of luck for me as well. 'Asta thought.

" Well either way we wasted enough time. Let's see what's inside this dungeon. " Fana said.
