Is Aiden's injury that worse??

After a few minutes,

"Guys, I will be going. I am sleepy" Anna lied.

"So soon?" Kyle asked, pursing his lips. He wanted to doze off while talking to his sister. It's been years since they had a moment like this.

"Don't be sad, pumpkin. Let's watch this weekend" Anna told her brother and ruffled his head dotingly.

"You guys have fun" she said to Ria who just nodded her head.

"I will be waiting in the parking lot tomorrow. 8am sharp." Anna reminded her brother.

"I will not be late. Don't worry sis." Kyle assured his sister.

"What about you, sis?" he asked Ria who was pretending to be focused on watching the movie.

"I have an appointment with some heiresses. They wanted to console me for my loss so they made a reservation at a resort to chill a bit." Ria answered.

"Enjoy." Anna said and then left the house.

A door bell woke Aiden from his half sleep.

Struggling with his leg, he slowly walked to the door and checked the video doorbell. His brother, Felix insisted that he will stay with him tonight but Aiden refused his brother's kindness.

He wanted some alone time to pull his thoughts together but he didn't expect Anna to be waiting at his door.

That too, at this late night!

Noticing her misty bluish eyes, he could tell that she is not herself. Is she in pain?

It seems like rain and thunder triggers some sort of trauma for her. Recovering from these episodes will take time.

Thinking of it, he couldn't help but feel worried.

"Anna, is something wrong? Are you still scared after what happened at dinner?" he asked as soon as he opened the door. Concern is obvious in his eyes.

"Please come in" he said, later realizing that he didn't even invite her inside.

Anna coughed, trying to hide her embarrassment. Even she doesn't know what made her take this impulsive decision of coming to see him.

"I.. I actually came to give you this" she told him, as she fished out a tiny bottle from her pocket.

It's the ointment Felix was talking about.

As they had to contact a military hospital to order it. His injury is not an emergency to bother the hospital's staff who are already busy and exhausted. He could bear it for one night, so he didn't want to exercise his influence for something trivial like this.

"Wow! How did you get it?" Aiden asked, surprised. Getting hands on this medicine is not an easy task after all, the production rate of these S rated medications is limited to single digits.

"Ummm… Ria found it in her closet. Felix once gave it to her when she was injured" Anna lied.

She possibly couldn't tell him that she contacted her subordinates from her organization and ordered them to bring this small glass of ointment right away.

Her poor subordinates had to immediately fly this medicine from another country to here as if their life depended on it. For her, getting her hands on it is not that difficult. It is just that availability is scarce.

But she can't tell this to Aiden so she simply lied.

"I see," Aiden casually replied.

"Please come in," he invited her again, realizing that she was still standing outside.

"It's fine. I will drop by some or other time" Anna excused herself. It's not like she doesn't want to go inside but she didn't dare to.

It's been years since they were under the same roof, alone. And, besides that, they have many intimate memories as well.

What if looking at his house decorations will remind her of their own house? Remembering those memories would only bring them pain and nostalgia.

"Anna, please, help me to apply the medicine. One of my arms is fractured and my other arm is hurting a lot after carrying you." Aiden lied instantly to get her inside his house.

Although he knew that it would reopen his scars and bring him nothing but unbearable pain and distress, he just wanted to spend more time with her.

His feelings for her were cloudy so, he could only follow his heart and invited her in.

Anna almost rolled her eyes at his lie.

She knows that he is just exaggerating but at the same time, she couldn't say no as well.

It will be very rude especially when the opposite person is someone who took great care of her.

"Okay" Anna reluctantly agreed and followed him inside.

And as soon as she looked at the interiors and all the furniture, she froze and her eyes started to water.

She still remembers the dream house plan she once shared with Aiden on one of their many late night discussions. She told him that she wants to live there after their marriage.

But who would have thought that he would design his house just like how she described their dream house?

That too, especially even after hurting him to this extent.

Their break up was not beautiful but quite the opposite. Their relationship ended on a sour and painful note.

Meanwhile, Aiden noticed that Anna spaced out and smiled sadly.

Yes, he invited her inside so that she could see this. He might be called selfish but he wants her to understand how much impact she has on his life.

"After I proposed to you, I bought this house for us, Anna. By that time, you hadn't broken up with me yet and, though we wouldn't have lived here, I thought of making it look similar to your dream house." Aiden explained it to her.

"At first, I didn't want to live here as it would make me remember you. But after trying for a very long time to shun you from my thoughts, I realized that I couldn't bring myself to forget you."

"There were only two options left for me after our break up. To either move on with my life and try to forget you, or, to live in the memories of our love which inflicted both pain and happiness. As I couldn't achieve the first option so, I am living my second option" he added while he slowly walked to the couch and sat down.
