'I should have done this from the start.' Alex pulled his phone out with a heavy, regret filled sigh.
"You've got to be kidding me..." As he turned the phone over, her saw that the entire screen had been cracked. He pressed the power button, and every other button, many times but the phone refused to respond.
'This was the only way for me to contact James... I didn't bother to write his phone number down anywhere and it's not like I memorized it. It's going to cost a lot to fix it too.'
Alex shook his head and pushed the thought out of his mind. 'Who cares about the money, I just want everyone to be safe.'
Alex had adopted a jogging speed as he led the way home with Benny following behind him. It was incredibly painful to run like this, given the injuries he sustained throughout the day, but there was no other choice right now, to reach his mother in time he would simply have to endure it.
