Lenny listened intently to the soft exchange between Adam and the serpent, the tranquil sounds of the garden filling the air. Adam's voice was gentle, almost reverent, as he spoke of the new gift he had received.
"It is time I pick one. The One above all has blessed me with another. He called her woman, that I may have a companion that is of my kind, bones of my bones and flesh of my flesh," Adam said, his voice full of innocent joy.
But the serpent, coiled near Adam, hissed softly in protest. "You do not need anyone else, Adam. You have me. I have loved you for all eternity," the serpent whispered, its words laced with something deeper, more possessive.
Adam chuckled lightly at the serpent's words, his eyes carrying the innocence of a being unburdened by sin or malice. He stroked the snake's shimmering scales, his touch light and playful.
