UNDERGROUND

I immediately call straight to the captain, it's a big deal, Catherine didn't respond instantly that maybe means something bad happening to her, a part of Mr tell me that I should go and find her immediately.

Finally, Arthur pick up my call.

"About Catherine, right?"

I was surprised he already notice her up sent. I slowly reply after recover form my nonsense though swelling inside my head.

" Yes, did you contact her? did her response?"

I may sound like crazy or out of mind at the moment but that's because I'm so worry about my friend. I already lost Liana, I can't imagine how my life would be without Catherine. If someone's going to done harm to her, it's my responsibility for her safety.

" I'll contact her, immediately inform me if you see her in the CCTV !"

"Copied that!"

We cut the call short after he order me to double check the CCTV if I see any sight of Catherine, surely, I can't see even her shadow.

"Can you take care of the CCTV, I'll be back"

Aura nodded her head again as I move to the door, I can't just wait here and don't do anything, I'll go find Catherine, I thought to myself as I text Arthur so he would know where I'm going.

'Please take care'

That's the only response coming from the another end of the text box. I reached the end of the hall, I climb down the spiral staircase to the first floor where the children are greeting the royals.

I pushed the door to the back of the building open to see black hallway greeted my vision. I carefully stepped out of the greetings room and closed the door behind me without even a single source of noise.

As I walk in the dimly lit hallway lead me to the underground of the orphanage, my heartbeat quicken and my pulse jittered. Cold wind caress my skin as I climb deeper into an underground room.

Just then I felt someone behind me, I turned around quickly to see empty, dark hallway stay the same. I turned back to my way and continue to climb down deeper, deeper untill there's no stairs left for me to stepped on.

I gingerly explore the end of the hallway, it can't be, I saw that man go through the same door I earlier passed, and he got to be here, somewhere...

THUD THUD THUD

The noise of something been threw to the floor made me jump, and I heard footsteps running out of the hallway.

I quicken my steps to catch up with the noise, surely it's him! but what would he do down here?

My thought went to Catherine's up sent, what if he done something bad to her?

As the thought of my friend in danger made fury mingle inside me, made my heart even beat like crazy, my breathing seem to quicken like time bombs.

When finally, the noise of the footsteps was gone from the small hallway, I'm sure the footsteps I heard is not for a man's but at least two people are running out of here. Would it possible be my friend?

An again I felt like someone's watching me from my back. I turned again to see an empty dark hallway I passed earlier.

I heard the door to the room where the greetings is located closed, so... that man is again in the crowd, I thought to myself as I realized I already let the opportunity to catch him when we were alone.

I sight weakly as I made my way upstairs, to the greetings room. I felt the cold wind from the underground caress my cheeks made chill run down my spine. Untill I found the door that leads me to the room where captain is waiting to hear me lost track of the man.

I can't find Catherine, but as the footsteps leaded to this door, so surely she's behind this door with that man, with the captain... right?

But if she's not in the room? Then where could she be? I pushed the door open and noiselessly slipped pass the door to the room and closed the door again.

When I stepped in the room, my vision start to blur and the crowd erupt a high pitch scream that makes my ear throb with pain.

I cannot see captain or Catherine or even Brian, no one could help me... I'm fainting... to the cold floor...

I woke up in the blank room, with only the bed I'm lying on occupied the are in this room.

The room was surprisingly small and cold, maybe I was fainted in the middle of the crowd and maybe someone bring me here.

I lie there recovering why I fainted, and the only result I can think of is I can smell something in the room and someone's scream.

I immediately spring up to sitting position to survey the whole room. I can't feel any flicker of life here in the room.

"How are you feeling now? are you fine?"

The sudden voice mad me almost jump from the bed I was sitting. I turned to see Brian staring at me with wide, worrying eyes.

"Ah... I'm fine... where's Catherine?"

I instantly asked Brian about Catherine to make sure she's safe since she didn't even respond to my or captain's text.

"Calm down, she's with me when you faint. Now she's in the CCTV room instead for you, I'm the one who brings you here"

He added the last sentence when he see I still didn't understand, but now I'm convinced.

I thanks him for everything and he excuse himself and returns to the greetings, he said I needed rest since my sudden faint. I do what I was told, I lay down on the soft cushion and before I even know, I drifted into sweet slumber.
