The Final Test

It has been four years since Darius began training.

His hair has grown, and he has a muscular body.

Darius magical and Psionic Powers further grew.

It is now time for his final test, a fight with his grandfather.

MC POV

So this is my last and final test. To fight against an old monster.

To say I was nervous was an understatement.

"I shall use 0.1% of my power against you. Are you ready?"

I nodded yes.

"Then let us begin your final test."

As he finished speaking, he vanished. Though I could not see him, I could sense him.

I felt his aura behind me, and I telported behind him and threw punch that was enhanced by magic at the back of his head.

It made him stagger a bit, and then he turned and had an evil grin on his face.

Fear gripped every fibre of my being, but still, I pushed on. I unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks that were enhanced by magic.

Grandfather blocked every attack until he grabbed my arm and crushed it. I screamed in pain, and I went to use my other arm punch him.

What he as he was going grab it as well, I prepared a dark firball on my arm that was being crushed.

He grabbed my fist but sensed me using a spell, and before he could think, an explosion occurred.

I was missing my right arm as I used magic to stop the bleeding. I had burn marks all over and began healing myself with healing magic.

But before I could finish, my grandfather appeared and threw a punch. Just in the nick of time, I dodged.

I fired five fireballs towards him, and he dodged all of them.

I fired ten more to distract him. I quickly trapped his legs using cryomamcy.

Then I unleashed a barrage of Force Lightning. It was very close to turning purple.

I mixed my Force Lighting with dragon lightning, which was a lightning spell that came in the form of a dragon.

My grandfather just looked amused, which showed I was doing no actual damage nor causing any pain.

The difference between us is like heaven and earth.

I absorbed mana from my surroundings and began to regenerate my mana.

I also began healing myself. Slowly, I began to regrow my arm.

After a few moments, I saw my grandfather yawning.

Then he spoke.

"I think it's time for me to stop playing around."

I heard the ice shattering as he charged towards me.

I quickly activated my magic shields, but he broke through.

I quickly moved out of the way. This fight is starting to get very difficult.

Grandfather just raised his right hand. A purple magic circle appeared on his hand.

I could sense magical energy swirling around this circle, and then it shot out a dark purple beam.

Just as it was about to hit me, I teleported away.

The beam decimated the trees behind me. There was nothing that remained.

I knew what this was, dark ray. Dark Ray was a dark magic spell that allowed to shoot a beam full of dark magic.

I decided to prepare my own Dark Ray. A red magic circle appeared from my raised right hand.

Grandfather was also preparing a dark ray as well.

After a few moments, we shot our rays.

Mine was a mixture of black and red.

Our rays collided together and created a huge explosion.

There was smoke everywhere, and I used magic to clear away the smoke.

Grandfather stood there with a shirt off.

He had buldging muscles and scars all over him.

"Not bad, Darius, you have amused me quite a bit. But now it's time for the beating to start."

He began cracking his knuckles and neck. I enhanced my entire body with magic and psychic power.

Grandfather then charged forward with speed so fast that I would not be able to see it.

But since I enhanced my eyesight as well, I could see him.

He threw a right hook, I ducked and gave him an uppercut. Soon after, I launched a kick on his leg.

Grandfather did not show any sign of pain and only smiled, then he roundhouse kicked me in the face, which broke my nose.

I responded by punching him in the face as well.

He then staggered only for a few seconds and then gave me a terrifying grin.

I proceeded to go on with the assault, punching and kicking him.

I did a push kick on his chest, and he grabbed it. I smiled, and grandfather looked confused about why I was smiling.

I jumped in the air while pulling my trapped leg and kicked my grandfather in the face with my knee.

He let go of my leg, and I fell to the ground.

Grandfather had no expression on his face.

I then charged him with my fist raised until he spoke.

"Stop, that's enough, Darius."

I stopped my attack and powered down.

"You have passed the test. For four years, I went through rigorous training, and that would be too much for a child to handle. You have completed your training much better than your older sister and father, who still cried about taking a life."

So this it, my training was over. Over these four years, my power grew, and so did my knowledge.

But it wasn't enough, I want more.

"Darius, about that request you asked. The lab is underneath the mansion in this forest. You will use it after your first year in school."

I nodded.

Last year, Crawford told me that this forest was created by his father in order to train Blackburn heirs.

The mansion was made for the sole purpose of protecting the Blackburn library.

Also, this forest was called the Blackburn forest.

And now it's time for me to choose which imperial academy to go through.

The Imperial Knight's Academy is off the list, as I can augment myself without anyone's help. Imperial Mage Academy can be very useful as they have lots of knowledge.

Crawford only taught me offensive magic and few defence spells and dark magic rituals. I want to try out something different.

And I should also get a haircut.

Grandfather then clapped his hand, and a purple portal appeared.

Guess it's time to go home now.

I wonder how the rest of the family are doing?

3rd person POV

The rest of Darius's family was worried.

Eliza and Evie were worried that Darius might be traumatised by the training.

Billy was afraid of what might happen to him when Darius returned.

Tybur and Zack remained stoic, but deep down, they were hoping Darius would be alright.

Then, a portal appeared, and out came Crawford and Darius.

"Hello there."

Darius smiled.

Eliza was happy, but suddenly she stopped smiling.

Eliza, Tybur, and Zack all could sense Darius's aura.

His aura was a mixture of Black and red.

Darius's aura was as strong as Tybur's and Vivian's aura when they finished their training.

The only difference was that this aura was more powerful, as a result of Darius's studying of the dark arts.

Then, it began to grow as Darius looked at Billy.

"Ah, Billy, I've wanted to have a conversation with you since you told everyone about me awakening my powers at a young age."

He said with a menacing smile.

Darius has been waiting a long time to get his hands on Billy, that little shit.
