I could feel the blood pounding in my ears. Kade's words still rang torturously in my mind.

I had to protect Verena.

/"Nate. Listen to me./" Trevor's voice broke me out of my thoughts.

/"Do you think you can move your hands a little?/"

Both our arms and legs were bound with rope and we were sitting with our backs towards each other. My hands were tied tightly behind my back at the wrists but I could move my palms and fingers a little bit.

/"I think so./" I responded.

/"Reach into my back pocket, I can't do it myself, you'll find my reading glasses. They didn't take them away fortunately./" He ordered.

/"What?/" I asked incredulously.

Has he lost it?

/"Just do it!/" His voice laced with impatience.

I didn't argue any further. I reached into his back pocket and extracted the glasses without much difficulty.

/"Got them./"
