Why did you do it?

The unfathomed tears that was pouring out of the child's eyes was unbelievable that Owen didn't know when he acted by carrying the girl and holding the child.

Carrying the girl on his arms and gently holding the child hands, he quickly started walking in search of a healer.

Asking for direction to a healer resident, it didn't take them much time as they weren't that far from it.

Walking inside the resident with the unconscious girl in his arms and the little child following right behind him, they quickly attend to him as they take him to a room.

Dropping the girl on the bed, he quickly give way so as to let the healer do her thing as he know he would just be an hindrance if he was to stay.

Waiting outside of the room with the little girl, Owen decided to start a conversation with the kid so as to make her stop crying.

"What's your name little girl?" Asked Owen as he look at her.

"I'm Klara, I want my mom!!" cried the girl.

"It's okay, your mom will see you soon, so stop crying okay?" said Owen as he look at her.

Hearing the words of Owen the child seem to believe him as she use her hand to clean the tears from her eyes.

"So how old are you Kara?" Asked Owen as he could see she isn't crying anymore.

"I'm four years old" replied Kara.

"Your mom will be okay, let's just wait for her to get up and you will see her soon" said Kiran as he carry the girl so as to sit on one of the chairs.

After some minutes of waiting, the female healer walked out of the room, meaning the treatment was over.

Standing up and carrying the child who was now sleeping in his arms, he walked to meet the woman so as to know the condition of the girl.

"You are the one that brought her right?" Asked the woman which Owen nodded in confirmation. "She's awake and okay, but she's in no condition to leave now as she will stay to fully recovered, one more thing, she's demanding for her child" said the woman.

Paying for her treatment, Owen opened the door and walked inside with the child still sleeping on his arms.

"How are you feeling?" Asked Owen as he sit on the chair beside her.

On seeing that her child was safe and sound, she heave a sigh of relief before looking at Owen who was carrying her.

"Thank you, thank you for looking after her, I will make sure to pay you back for all the kindness you have shown to us" said the girl as she try to stand up but was unable to.

"Don't stress yourself, you don't have to pay me back, it's nothing" replied Owen as he gently put the sleeping girl on the bed beside her mother.

Hearing the words of Owen about not paying back, tears roll down from her eyes as she has never once been on the receiving end of kindness.

"Thank you" was the only word the woman could say as she hold her daughter.

"Why do you do such a thing knowing you have a child?" Asked Owen as he look at her.

"I have no other choice, my daughter was hungry and I don't have any money to buy something for her to eat, even after pleading for two hours, I didn't receive any help, so I did it so she wouldn't starve" replied the woman as she use her hand to hide her face in shame.

"I wouldn't judge you, I know mother's would go to great lengths just to make sure their children don't suffer, so you don't have to hide in shame" said Owen as he gently remove her hand from her face.

Dropping her hands by her side, she look at Owen in amusement because of the words he just said.

"Don't think I'm rude but please answer me, where's your child father?" Asked Owen.

Even though he knew the question was out of order as it wasn't in his place to ask, he still decided to go for it as he would want to know everything if he was to help them.

Looking at the woman and seeing tears flowing from her eyes, he regret asking the question as he tell her not to answer it if she doesn't want to, but to his surprise, the woman wipe the tears from her eyes after some minutes.

"She doesn't have a father, he deny having an affair with me, leading to me being a single parent, I was just too young and naive at that time to see his true side" said the woman. "After impregnating me, he dumped me and cut all ties with me".

Hearing the short story of the woman, another thought fly into his head as he reason his mom passing through the same thing, if not why won't she tell them about their father.

"What about your family, don't you have anyone to go to?" asked Owen.

"I don't have any family, I have always been an orphan" replied the girl.

"Where do you live?" asked Owen as he look at her.

"We don't have a place call home, we live anywhere in the street" replied the woman as she look at her daughter.

"How old are you and how old is your daughter?" Asked Owen.

"I'm eighteen and my daughter is four" replied the woman.

Hearing the words of the girl, Owen nod his head as his theory was correct, she wasn't a woman but a girl base on her age.

'That means you birth your child at the age of fourteen, I don't know what to say' said Owen inwardly.

After finish asking the girl everything on his mind, he stood up and walked out of the room.
