Red vision

After finished hearing the story of their mom, they both sat there frozen as they couldn't comprehend what they just heard.

No matter how much they think they have prepared themselves, the story was just beyond their worst imagination.

Tears could be seen falling down from Beatrice eyes as she just sat there still without any single movement.

'Demon's children' said Owen inwardly as he finally understood what the man meant some days ago.

"Is he still alive" was the only question that came out of Owen mouth as he look at his mother.

"I don't know Owen, I don't even know the world he came from" stammer Bethany as she manage to answer his question amidst her tears.

Looking at his sister, he could see her eyes looking lifeless with no movement, just tears pouring out of them.

Turning to look at his mom, he clenched his fist. Finally he has gotten what he wanted, but at the cost of his mother and sister happiness.

"So what are we?" Asked Owen quietly as he look at his mother. "Are we demons also, are we monsters?" Asked Owen as he raise his voice.

"You two are my kids Owen, no matter what, you two are always my children and nothing will change that" replied Bethany as tears continue pouring out of her eyes.

"I have never once regretted giving birth to you two, you two brought meaning to my life, I do plan on killing myself but when I found out of being pregnant with you two, I change my mind".

Knowing as his sister was affected by the news the most, he draw her closer to himself before hugging her.

Even though the only thing on his mind was to walk away from there so as to clear his mind, he didn't as he knew his sister needed him.

"Look at me Beatrice, you are not a demon okay, even if one of us is, it definitely won't be you, believe me" said Owen as he shake her so she can respond.

'Why do I think she's ready, she's not like me and I have learn some few things already that's why my condition is different from her right now' said Owen inwardly. 'I promise myself not to be affected no matter what I heard, but this is too much for her'.

"Beatrice, please come back to your sense, listen to me" said Owen as he continue hugging her.

Looking at their mother, he could see she too was another case as she couldn't compose herself and kept on crying.

With him being the only rational one currently among them, he move closer so as to also console his mom as he knew it wasn't her fault.

'No matter the case or excuse, I will make sure to kill you for causing this much pain in the life of my mom and sister' vowed Owen inwardly.

With the continuous shaking of his sister, he has manage to bring her out of her trance state where she wasn't saying anything and look lifeless.

Bursting out in tears and sob, she rest her head on her brother shoulder. He was the only one she could seek comfort from as she knew he has always been there for her.

"Beatrice, he has never been in our life, therefore we doesn't have any of his blood, we are not the same as him" said Owen as he strove her hair.

After about two hours of continuous crying, Beatrice manage to fall asleep as Owen carry her and gently drop her on the bed to sleep.

Using another bedsheet to cover her while leaving her head expose, he turned to face his mother who was still awake.

"Please do go to bed" said Owen as he walked out of the room so as to clear his mind.

Just from looking at the first of his mother, he felt himself getting weak as the revelation was also getting an effect on him.

Walking the streets, he manage to see an open field with no one in sight. Walking towards the middle of the green grassy field, he lie down on the grass.

"Demon's children" said Owen as he remembered the night when he encounter the man.

Thinking about it now, he regretted killing him so quickly, if only he left him alive for some minutes and torture him, then he would have gotten what he was looking for and won't have to put his sister in that state.

"Why mom, why, even though I know it isn't your fault as you were a victim, but I still can't help myself but ask".

Looking at the sky, he could see that it was cloudy, bringing a calm effect on the environment, but even with the calm effect, the anger in him wasn't subsiding at all.

"I will kill you, I promise you that" said Owen in anger as he picture himself killing his father even though he doesn't know his face.

The anger in him was burning like a blazing flame, making his state different as he doesn't know when his vision and eyes color change to that of red.

Still looking at the sky, he could see it has change color to red and looking everywhere, he could see they were red in color except one location which was illuminating orange.

Cleaning his eyes and opening it, he could see everywhere was back to normal as it was no longer red in color.

"What just happened, why was everything red in color except that place illuminated orange?" Asked Owen to himself.

"Judging from the direction the orange color was illuminating from, it's a very far place from here".

Quickly standing on his two feet, he walked out of there as he doesn't want to experience what just happened for a second time.

Walking out of the field, he turned so as to look the direction he saw the orange color one last time, before walking away from there.
