New World

Damian was stood in a forest that was familiar to him, it was the same forest that he had acquired the Oran Berry from that previously healed him. The first world he had travelled to was the universe of Pokemon. Unlike before, he was confident he could spend time in this world and do essentially what he wanted.

He did not really know where he was, he didn't know the region he was in, nor did he know specifically where in that region he was. However, what he did know was that the Pokemon in front of him was not one that he was familiar with. This was not because it was from a new game, but simply because it was completely new and potentially undiscovered depending on what region he was in.

The Pokemon in front of him was a small, reptilian Pokemon with bright orange and red scales and a fiery tail. It stood on all fours, and had a compact and agile body that allowed for quick movements. Its claws on all four of its legs were sharp and looked like they would hurt a lot. It seemed to be interested in Damian, as it approached carefully before rubbing itself on his leg.

Damian was intrigued by the Pokemon that he had never even heard of before, and decided to see if it would follow him so he began to walk down the incredibly wide path which potentially led to the exit of the forest. The small lizard Pokemon followed quickly behind Damian, even when he ran relatively quickly which was impressive as he was going quite fast.

By the time he reached the end of the trail, he found himself leaving the forest without even being disturbed by a single Pokemon. He found himself in a huge field that was filled with houses that looked relatively modern despite the land around not being tainted.

He saw some familiar looking buildings, such as a Poke Centre and Poke Mart, as well as what he assumed to be a Pokemon Lab, which meant a Pokemon Professor, which in turn meant he may be able to get information about the area he was in.

He walked over to the Lab, with the Pokemon which he assumed was his now as it refused to leave his side, and entered through the automatic doors. It was very clean inside, and there were scientists sat at desks reading and doing work on either side. At the very back of the room was an old man, who looked very Pokemon Professor-like.

Damian walked over to the man, who at a closer look was around 5'5 with a hunch back and a cane, he had a long grey beard and grey hair and was wearing a long lab coat.

"Hi, I'm new to the area and was hoping you could help me out."

The old man turned and looked at Damian, "Oh hello youngster, I'm Professor Redwood, what do you need to know?"

"I was just wondering what the area we are in is called, and also if you could help me figure out what Pokemon this is if it wouldn't be too much trouble."

"Of course I can help out, you are currently in the Verdant Vale, a city in the Avalora region, a lot of young trainers come here to me to start their journey. You see, I give out free Pokemon to those who are unable to catch one for themselves at first, along with some other starter items that are helpful out in the field. One of these items is a Pokedex, which may be of some help in identifying that little guy. You will be able to see some of its basic information, such as its name, level, type and base stats."

Professor Redwood handed Damian a Pokedex which he recognised from the games and anime, and he clicked on the screen to scan any surrounding Pokemon to add them to the Pokedex.

Upon completion, two entries were added, and obviously Damian started with the lizard Pokemon, which he quickly learned the name of.

Damian knew for sure that he had never seen this Pokemon now and decided to ask the professor, "Apparently it is a Pokemon called Pyrodrake, have you ever heard of it before?"

"I can't say I have, I apologise for not being able to help you out much, if you don't have any other questions I can give you the remaining starter items and point you in the direction of the first gym which actually happens to be in this city."

"That's fine don't worry about it, thank you for trying though, and I would appreciate you showing me the gym, and obviously giving me the items."

Professor Redwood handed over a backpack, five Pokeballs and five Potions before having Damian follow him outside, where he pointed towards an extravagant greenhouse covered in plants which he explained was the gym before he went back inside.

Unlike previously, Damian could see that there were a lot of Pokemon roaming around in the grass despite being a city. Nobody seemed to own these Pokemon, and this was proven when one began to charge at Damien, only for his Pyrodrake to jump forward and shoot a fiery circle at the charging Oddish.

This caused the Oddish to be encased in multiple circles of fire which split from the first one and formed a sphere which kept it trapped inside. This was followed up by a ball of fire being shot from Pyrodrake's mouth and causing an explosion to happen inside which immediately killed the Oddish.

Upon this interaction finishing, Damien felt as though something had changed and checked his Pokedex to see if Pyrodrake had levelled up, and unsurprisingly he had. However, as he had forgotten to check the other registered Pokemon before, what he saw shocked him, as he saw a picture of himself in the Pokedex.

Looking at this page of the Pokedex confuse him greatly, as he could see that it had recognised him as a Pokemon, and he assumed this was due to his recent change. He did not care though, as he was happy to see his base stats were incredibly high, and although he could not see specific stats, he knew that if he levelled up the same way a Pokemon does then he would become very strong, even stronger than before.

Seeing the great opportunity which he had been given, he decided to set off to level up with his new Pyrodrake to take down the first gym, and then eventually the entire region.
