The Start To Something New! The Demon Slayer Corps?!

* ASVASUKE POV*

" Is this really the train you were talking about?," I questioned Yoshiteru. " Seems pretty normal to me!"

Yoshiteru leaned closer to me in his seat, " It's said that the beast can go at the speed of light. That's how easy it is for it to take its prey. Yesterday a sixteen year old girl went missing on this same train."

" And you want to do what exactly?," I raised my eyebrow.

" See it of course!," Yoshiteru exclaimed. " What if it's really true? And demons are really a thing! Then there's really such a thing at the Demon Slayer Corps somewhere hidden!. That would mean my great-great Grandfather really was an amazing Demon Slayer!"

I thought about this.

" Hey, Sumihiko," I called. " What do you think?"

Sumihiko crossed his arms, " I really don't know. But all I know is that even if Yoshiteru is right, he'll probably be the first to run and cower in fear."

" And us three will help!," Tojuro said in joy.

After mayb thirty minutes on the train I started to hear weird sounds. I also smelt something awful!

" You guys smell that," I asked. " It's making my nose burn. And there's also this weird sound."

" I don't hear or smell anything unusual," Tojuro admitted. " Maybe the memory in your brain is acting up."

" Well, yes it happens sometimes," I agreed. " But remember, I have an unnatural superhuman-like sense of smell and hearing."

As Tojuro was speaking I was to caught up in the constant noises I was hearing. I leaped up from my seat and stood still in the ile. I heard scratching and growling. Maybe even a couple of cut off screams. I wind push past me it different angles rapidly. Just when I felt the breeze coming towards me I dodged it.

"Are you ok?," Sumihiko asked me.

I sensed a bad presence. I had my eyes closed but when I opened them It was a monster. The creature had four legs and four arms with dark purple eyes all over its body. It had this creepy wide smile with dagger-like teeth on its face. Saliva dripped from his mouth onto the floor.

"OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP! ," Yoshiteru panicked. " IT'S A MONSTER IT'S ACTUALLY A MONSTER!"

People on the train started to back away. The train was supposed to stop by now but it was still going.

" RUNN!," A man shouted. " WHY THE HECK ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE KID?!"

The monster looked at me cross-eyed, " What are you?"

" ASVASUKE STEP BACK!," Tojuro yelled. " STEP BACK BEFORE YOU GET KILLED!"

" Shouldn't I be asking you that?," I asked the monster, my voice shaking.

" DON'T TALK TO IT," Sumihiko shouted. " STEP AWAY!"

Footsteps started to walk behind me.

" You know you should listen to your friends, kid?," A man's voice said.

I turned to look behind me and saw a man in a black uniform with a faded blue Haori. H-He also had a katana strapped to his hip!

" Step away calmly and let me deal with this," he murmured.

I stepped aside and watched the man simply take my place. He had a grin on his face.

" Oy, Demon!," he called. " What brings you here?!"

I felt my senses take place again. Before the...Demon could land a finger on the strange person I tackled him. The man hit his hand on the wall.

" Sorry!," I apologized. " The monster was going to hurt you!"

" Me and Sumihiko are on the evacuation!," Tojuro said in a singy voice.

Meanwhile, Yoshiteru tried to pull me away, " I'LL KILL YOU IF YOU DON'T RUN AWAY! LET'S GO ASVASUKE!"

The sword man stood back up, " What th-."

" TO YOUR LEFT!," I warned.

The man dodged as the demon came past him. The demon was so fast that he couldn't even stop himself from hitting the wall. The demon snarled at me and this time I barely survived his attack. His sharp nail left a scratch on my right cheek. The man with the strange sword grabbed his handle and started whispering something.

" Water breathing: fourth form," he muttered. " STRIKING TIDE!"

He twisted his body, took out his sword, and landed multiple blows on the demon!

The next time I looked the monster started to disintegrate into dust.

" HE'S A WITCH!," Yoshiteru exclaimed. " A WITCH I TELL YOU!"

Then, before I knew it I was being kidnapped by the swordsman! So was, Sumihiko, Yoshiteru, and Tojuro. He was going so fast that my eyes were being peeled. We stopped in an alley after one minute. Yoshiteru tried to run away but the guy grabbed him.

" Sumihiko Kamado, Tojuro Rengoku, Yoshiteru Agatsuma," The man counted. " Only three? This is gonna be hard. Who're you, kid?" He pointed at me.

" I- of course you don't know who I am," I sighed. " I'm Asvasuke Seinaruya."

He put a hand on his chin like he was thinking about something.

" Your abilities are truly unique," the swordsman told me. " An unnatural sense of smell AND hearing? Amazing if you asked me. My name Kenro Tensi. I'm a Demon Slayer. You all know the stories from a long time ago right?"

He had black and blue hair with green eyes. Never saw him in the stories and he looked awfully young. A black crow flew over us and landed on his shoulder. It put it's beak near his ear.

" KENRO KENRO KENRO!," The crow repeatedly yelled. " KENRO KENRO KENRO KENRO!"

" What you stupid bird," Kenro muttered.

" YOU'VE COMPLETED YOUR MISSION!," The crow informed. " GO TO THE MANSION REST UP AND THEN YOU WILL BE GIVEN YOUR NEXT ASSIGNMENT!"

The crow then flew away.

" Like I was saying. Sumihiko Kamado, the police got more than seven reports about you. I've got to say you're pretty fast for a fifteen year old. Same goes for you Tojuro Rengoku. I see you play Kendo. I have no doubt you're very skilled already, Then there's...Yoshiteru Agatsuma. You have an uncontrollable desire for women like your Great-Grandfather; Zenitsu. But since you're an ancestor I guess you wouldn't be so bad," Kenro theorized.

" So...D-Demons are real?," I stammered.

" Yes, isn't that what you wanted?," Kenro asked. " Don't worry I'm just kidding. nobody would want that. Anyways, for some unknown reason demons are returning. And we're low on Demon Slayer corps members. It's my job to find the most skilled and bring them back, train them, test their earned strength, and if they return alive from the test they get recruited! Simple right?"

" PEOPLE CAN DIE IN A TEST?!," Yoshiteru asked. " THIS IS INSANE! UTTERLY INSANE!"

" You can stay with your parents and let people die or you can come with me and meet some people like me! Not like you've got a choice! Your parents have already been informed. Some of you're older siblings. Sumihiko, your older sibling has already been informed and also might be a member if recruited in the next year or so. Same goes for you Yoshiteru! Will you four except?"

Yoshiteru started dramatically rolling on the floor, " THIS IS A NIGHTMARE! A LIVING NIGHTMARE! BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT'S A DREAM COME TRUE! MY SISTER WAS WRONG! GRANDFATHER DID NOT RIGHT A BOOK OF LIES! THE LEGEND OF ZENITSU WAS TRUE!" He stood up. " I'LL FLIP A COIN! HEADS FOR YES TAILS FOR NO!"

He took the coin out, flipped it and caught it. When he removed his hand his face turned into a disgusted look.

" So the world really does hate me," he muttered. " I accept your offer Mr. Tensi."

Sumihiko laughed, " Suddenly so polite, Yoshiteru. I guess I can allow it as well."

" I accept your challenge, future comrade!," Tojuro exclaimed.

I thought about this. Even if this was a dream I would have to leave everything here behind. But I will protect people and my dream will come true! I bowed to Kenro Tensi.

" This is really a gift I never would've been able to get!," I told him. " THANK YOU, TENSI!"

" No problem," Kenro shrugged. " Even if you said no I would've forced you."

" You're making me rethink my life choices," Yoshiteru mumbled.

" You three already seem fit for the job. Sumihiko, Asvasuke, Tojuro. You three already have amazing skills. For Yoshiteru I can say you're mentaly skilled with knowledge of breathing forms. Oh, and you're tall!"

[ Several Hours Later..]

I was separated from Tojuro and the others. Kenro told me I would get my own personal trainer. A couple of hours later I met him.

" KENRO!," The old man in the mask yelled. " YOU BRING ME A BOY WITH MESSY BLACK AND PURPLE HAIR! PURPLE EYES! MODERN SCHOOL UNIFORM! IS HE FROM THE CITY?! I WANT HIM OUT!"

" Master, Kai," Kenro soothed. " He stopped me from getting killed by a demon I couldn't have killed if he didn't guide me! He has unique powers and I promise you if you can just train him the correct way he can become an extraordinary fighter!"

" Sorry to interrupt but can I just go to sleep somewhere," I took out my phone. " It's four in the morning."

The old man who must've been Kai, snatched my phone and threw it, " NO PHONES OR AND SMART DEVICE!"

" Sorry, Jeez," I murmured.

" Kenro, if you're wrong about this highschool boy, I'll have your head," Kai threatened.

" Yeah, Yeah," Kenro shrugged. " Anyways, I have to get back to the mansion and get ready for my next assignment. Later oldman Kai!"

Kenro ran off into the nearby woods. Kai faced me.

" So tell me about yourself...Asvasuke," he demanded.

" Uhm, I'm fifteen. My birthday is in two weeks, I don't have a phone because you threw it, and I like Onigiri!," I replied.

" Hm, I think I like you!," he stepped back twelve steps back. " Walk towards me."

I was confused as to why he stepped back in the first place. But I realized that after I accidently stepped into a wide twenty foot pit. The walls have been carved so smoothly.

Master Kai looked down at me with his creepy mask, " If you can get out in the next twenty minutes I'll start your training right away."

This was going to be easy. the start of basic training. All I had to do was sniff out the weak spots on the walls. Then, I would try to make some small grips to make my way up. But...it took longer than I thought. The smell of the dirt and minerals kept distracting me. An hour later I decided not to depend on my sense of smell for this. This time I used the amazing stamina I had. I stepped back against one of the walls and leaped up. I nearly missed the surface of the pit. I crawled back up and found myself in the daylight.

" That took a long time," Kai shook his head. " How about you go ahead and descend up that mountain to the north and then come back down once you've reached the top of that mountain."

" B-But I'm still in my school close," I mentioned. " I don't think that's the right clothing I should wear when training."

" No need," Kai replied.

" What about my family," I asked. " When will I be able to see them?"

" Depends if you survive the final selection in a year or so!," Kai exclaimed.

That day I descended off into the mountain. Once I reached the top I saw fog below me. I was way high up and there was a lack of oxygen. After that I ran down as fast as I could with all my strength, same as I did coming up. I may have tripped over some rock and branches once in a while but that didn't stop me. By the time I got back I felt as if my arms were going to fall off. But it was still daylight so Master Kai said I had even more training until the sun set!
