Chapter 47: Demon Slayer, the Electro Hashira!
Kintaro stood firm before Aoi and the three girls, all trembling from the devastation they had witnessed. Yet, when they saw Kintaro standing before them, a glimmer of hope flickered across their faces. Though the relief was faint, they looked at him as if he were their beacon of salvation, especially since he was a Hashira. Aoi, paralyzed by the overwhelming fear gripping her, managed to speak despite her trembling:
"Kintaro... look at the destruction caused by that demon. I don't know why, but he's been searching for you specifically. That's why you shouldn't be here. Kintaro, please, run away while you still can."
Kintaro remained calm as he heard her words, then slowly turned around to face her. Aoi and the girls gasped in shock when they saw the cracks on his face, along with his hair glowing with a bright purple hue and his glowing eyes. It looked as though the energy was draining his very life. With concern in her voice, Aoi asked,
"Kintaro, what... what's happening to you?"
Meanwhile, Douma's severed arm, which Kintaro had cut earlier, grew back rapidly. With a mocking smile, Douma taunted:
"A boy with a purple robe, hair, and eyes to match... You've saved me the trouble of searching for you. I've been looking for you for about a week now. I wonder what made him send me personally to kill a mere child like you."
Kintaro, ignoring Douma, turned to Aoi and asked while keeping his gaze on the demon,
"Aoi-san, are you and the girls okay?"
While asking this, Kintaro glanced briefly at the mansion, now a heap of icy rubble. He also noticed Tanjiro, Nezuko, Shinobu, Inosuke, and Zenitsu—all unconscious, encased in ice shards.
"For now, yes... we are okay," Aoi replied, her voice calm despite the chaos around her.
Simultaneously, Douma chuckled, adding, "Is this really the time to be worrying about someone else? How arrogant."
Kintaro tightened his grip on his sword, and the purple electric aura surrounding him intensified. His clothes began to flutter violently, and the icy shards around him disintegrated as he replied:
"All of this destruction... the harm to my comrades and this mansion, it's all because of me. I should never have set foot here in the first place. No... it's your fault!"
Veins bulged in Douma's arms as he gripped his war fans, realizing the seriousness of the situation. Then, in an instant...
FWOOSH!
Douma lunged forward, swinging his fan, attempting to crush Kintaro and everything behind him with a single, powerful strike. But in the blink of an eye, Douma found that the spot where Kentaro was standing was empty, and he could not wave his fan because there was no target at all.
Kintaro had moved. He now hovered about four meters above Douma, his eyes glowing in the cold, dark night.
"Electro Breathing... Third Form: Wrath of the Night!"
ZAP!!!
Kintaro descended like a lightning bolt, crashing down on Douma with the force of a thunderstorm. The entire mansion was illuminated by the bright sparks of electricity, sending jolts of energy across the ground. The shock from the impact revived the unconscious Tanjiro and his companions, slowly bringing them back to consciousness.
A gust of wind blasted through the area from the sheer force of Kintaro's strike, causing Aoi and the girls' hair to whip wildly. The spot where the collision had occurred was now filled with steam, caused by the evaporation of the icy shards due to the intense heat from the electricity.
When the steam finally cleared, blood dripped from Douma's mouth. His body had been sliced in two at the waist, and deep gashes were visible around his neck. The only thing preventing Kintaro from completely severing Douma's head was the demon's swift reaction—Douma had used his fan defensively just in time to block the strike to his neck.
Despite being split in half, Douma, with fury in his eyes, swung his fan toward Kintaro with all his might.
FREEZE!
CRASH!!!
A blast of frost and wind erupted from Douma, and Kintaro was sent flying, having taken the attack head-on. As Kintaro flew back, Douma's body began to reattach, his upper half reconnecting with his lower half. The sight caused Aoi and the girls to tremble, both in awe of Kintaro's strength and terror at the ferocity of the battle.
Douma stood tall again, his eyes fixating on where Kintaro had been thrown.
'Never in my life has anyone dared to slice me in two,' Douma thought, clenching his fists in rage. 'This boy knows how to make my blood boil. I swear, I will make you suffer!'
ZAP!!!
Suddenly, a flash of purple lightning streaked across the field, and Douma's eyes widened in disbelief as Kintaro appeared right in front of him, faster than he could comprehend. To Douma, Kintaro's speed was now comparable to Muzan's—he was beyond human.
FWOOSH!
Douma swung his fan, desperate to land a blow, but it sliced through empty air. Kintaro had vanished again, leaving behind only a trace of purple lightning.
Douma's eyes darted around in shock, and he instinctively dropped to the ground, narrowly avoiding a fatal strike to his neck.
SLASH!
Kintaro's sword grazed the top of Douma's head, slicing through his eyes and brain. Douma, though gravely wounded, leapt backward, his head rapidly regenerating.
For the first time, as his head reformed, Douma seriously considered retreat.
'What's with this guy? Even for a Hashira, this is too much... I've never faced a human this powerful before—this is impossible!' Douma thought, panic creeping into his mind.
Kintaro, noticing Douma's hesitation, shouted as the purple electric aura around him intensified, his eyes glowing like bright violet lamps.
"You think you can escape after the disaster you've caused? Not while I'm still breathing. You're not getting away!"
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Shinobu, Inosuke, and Kanao, though dazed, could all now see the final confrontation unfold, with only Zenitsu still frozen due to the intense attack he had received earlier.
Douma's eyes widened, veins bulging in his legs as he leapt into the sky to flee, thinking,
'That bastard... he's planning something!'
"Electro Breathing... Final Form..."
The icy shards around Kintaro evaporated as the heat from his electricity grew intense, his tattered robe fluttering as he thought,
'You demons are all cowards. The misery and suffering you cause people... what's fun about it? Are human lives just toys to you?!'
The cells in Douma's brain vibrated as he heard these words. Even though he heard them for the first time, the cells of his memories made him feel as if he had heard them before.
"Purple Terror: Electro Star!"
Before anyone could blink, Kintaro silently launched into the sky, his sword piercing through Douma's neck in less than a second.
The blood of the Upper Moon Two demon splattered across the night sky like shadows in the moonlight. As the purple aura around Kintaro faded, his eyes closed, and his body began to fall back to the earth, the glow from his body completely vanishing. In that moment, the sound of thunder finally boomed—a delayed rumble, showing that Kintaro's final strike had been faster than sound itself.
