Clancy gasped in horror at the Archbishop's morbid description. Beatrice said nothing. This wasn't what B had told her would happen. He said she needed to have the baby in hell with him. Had that been a ploy? She wasn't sure.
It would seem speaking with the Archbishop only seemed to help confuse her further. She needed to talk to him again, but how? Suddenly, Beatrice pushed back the bed covers and got out of her large, four-poster bed. Her sudden movements startled both Clancy and the Archbishop. She pushed past them both and walked towards her water closet.
She closed the wood panel door behind her. Clancy waited for the Archbishop to leave, but he did not. Instead, he turned around to face Clancy. Seeing his angry gaze, Clancy suddenly felt her mouth go dry.
